Came here at the insistence of my dad when we were strolling through Compton. Casual, right? The man loves his grilled chicken and this place specializes in it. It's sort of like a more "authentic" Pollo Loco, except I don't know if they just throw the chicken in a charcoal pit and leave it there for a week because that's what it tastes like. Chicken and rice is very good at a good price. You get two whole chickens, rice, and beans, tortillas and salsa for 20 bucks! The salsa is one of a kind. We come here for the healthy charbroiled chicken. Best part they take credit cards even as a hole on the wall. They do close early though. I got a 1/2 chicken and fountain diet coke for about ten bucks...I saw lots of locals coming in with their own drinks...It's because the fountain drink in medium was 1.99...dafuq...You get beans and rice and some thick ass tortillas. The grilled chicken is delicious! So is the rice and salsa. The beans were good. They have no private lot to park in so you have to park on the street which is hard to find space. The lines are long also but it is definitely worth the wait, it's one of the best grilled chicken i've ever had. The environment is okay, it gets loud but that's why I always order it take out. My parents/grandparents always rave about the food at this location, and on my way home I decided I would stop by since it wasn't crowded out side. I ordered a whole chicken meal, with rice and beans for dinner. Nothing that I bought tasted fresh, the chicken was dry and it was obvious that it was reheated, the rice was dry, and hard. First of all, the chicken is delicious. The parking is extremely limited and you may have to walk at least a half a block to park. Once you go inside you may find a long line that doesn't move too fast. However, once you order the food comes out quickly and you'll be happy you endured the parking and the long line. You can't go wrong here!! I don't go much to pollo loco cuz of this place. I go only when i don't want to drive more far, but i usually come here rather than pollo loco cuz the chicken is best here. It's cheaper than pollo loco and you get more they are not stingy. Authentic mexican food. They have wet burritos, sopes, nopales, nachos good variety but i usually get the 2 chicken deals for my whole family only 20 bucks. Good deal for rice beans tortillas and lots of chicken its not only 8 pieces how pollo loco does it it might look getto outside but it's places like this that have the best food. You wont regret it.
