Since retiring in October 2025, Monday has becoming my "Costco Day." With the price of gas…read moreridiculous, I've started filling up my Dodge RAM at Costco. The gas service area is quite massive and very clean. I have yet to see it crowded, but there are green/red lights to signify the status of the pumps. Lots of room to navigate, even large vehicles to get to a pump. It's one way in and one way out. Hard to talk price, their gas price is on average a few cents cheaper than what I can find in Paso Robles. Doesn't really make it worth my while to drive 30 miles to save a few cents, so I couple this stop with my Monday shopping. If you are a member of Costco, I would recommend the pumps in SLO. It's freeway accessible and affordable when you start looking at other gas stations off LOVR.

My husband, being a former firefighter is obsessed with car washes, so whenever we are out for a…read morespin, we often need to stop for a carwash. I am personally awful at carwashes unless I was the car myself (garden hose technique). So, on a recent afternoon, we took a tour through the small carwash at the Madonna Road Shell Station. I was waiting for him to pay, admiring the trees planted around the car wash, and how clean the station was, and watching people pump gas. I found myself actually looking forward to the car wash. Sure enough, after giving our code, we proceeded through a modest but effective wash. I liked that there were no rails to ride on, no attendant, and the car sat still in the wash instead of the hurkey jerky automated version. There was plenty of water, and soap, and spinners, and more water and wax, and more water, then a good blow dry on the way out! And all for a budget friendly $10.00!

This gas station is just the best. I walked here with a gas can so I could fill up my lawn mower…read moreand cut the lawn. I got here and it would have been impossible to pull a car in to pump gas but guess what? I had no car, I walked. I walked up to the available pump and put gas in the can. It was amazing. I decided to go with 87 because that's what my mower has always run on. I considered a higher octane but was worried that I would lose control of my mower and it would end up in the creek. So I filled my can and walked home. (Stopped and got a haircut on my way) Then continued home. I fed the mower it's food so I could cut the grass. Guess what?!? The gas worked!! Now my lawn looks like my head and I owe it all to the overpriced gas I purchased down the road. Thanks overpriced gas, I couldn't have done it without you. Literally.

When at the register, the cashier barely acknowledges me, no eye contact, no How are you?, no thank you for coming, and no have a good day. When I pump gas I feel like I'm being watched through the window in case I do something wrong. Like do they think I'm going to steal the gas pump? I don't think it's a race thing because I've seen them staring out the window at other customers. They make it obvious they're watching you every second. I know it's a business but to the point of making customers uncomfortable is not good. BATHROOM: I wanted to use the bathroom and the guy said it's not working, but there was no sign on the door saying out of order and before I walked into the store I saw a lady walk out and go to the back room so clearly she was an employee. That's messed up! I was a paying customer and he didn't want me using the bathroom. It's one thing if it's Covid related then businesses put up a sign saying the bathroom is closed due to Covid regulations, but that wasn't the case. STATION: I know it's a gas station but I think there's a gas leak because the smell is very strong. It's too strong of a gas smell to be considered normal or safe. OVERAL: I do not recommend this gas station for anything. Drive further down to a different gas station for sure!

Accused me of theft of gasoline. I called SLOPD…read more When SLOPD arrived and she pulled up the receipts, she realized she made a mistake and told the police it was a misunderstanding. Never apologized to me. The long story: September 8, 2026 I pulled up to pump 1 entered my debit card and information. The pump said to replace the nozzle and try again. Issued me a $0.00 receipt. I tried again, paid my $42.48 and the employee comes out and starts screaming at me about theft. She says the gentlemen on pump 7 put $100 on pump 1 and I took their last $10. I asked her to prove it while denying the theft. She just kept yelling about theft. I asked her to call SLOPD so we could get this sorted. She refused and she asked me to leave while still accusing me of theft. I decided to not leave the premises until SLOPD arrived. When SLOPD arrived she was still accusing me of theft. As she began pulling all the receipts, I could tell when she realized her error. Also, by her coworkers face behind her. She told SLOPD it had been a misunderstanding and yet failed to apologize to me. I have reached out to Corporate offices as well.
