Worst school ever, regret to buy house around this area, rude front desk and staff general like they are "entitled " of our tax money to pay for their salary. Christina the admin staff explained to me ridiculous rules like she said "Wow.., you kept cutting me off " and being rude instead of to the point and being professional, FYI, we can't drop off anything and forbidden to sit inside the front office to wait, but they allowed Students to get out protesting all the times without any detentions when they should be out of politics matters and focus on their study instead. The quality of this school no longer qualified. What a shame !!!! read more

The music department needs some improvement. Los Osos stood out as the best and unique in the area because it has a good Orchestra in addition to its band program. However, Steve Krumbine, their new director, is working hard to kill anything that is not band. Now the music "festival" is just an assortment of band music, very little classical or much involvement of string. It's just so sad. read more

Worst school ever. After going through hell and back for 4 whole years they give us a haft step stage to walk on. I'm more than disappointed. Yet the star students who have been praised since they walked in get to be on the big stage in the middle which covers up all the other students. It's unfair and honestly the worst graduation I've been to. You think my own graduation would have been the best but it's not. They single students out by not allowing cords that are regulated and also stopping school allowed regalia because of time management. I hope you never send your kid here. This is the worst school to ever mentally be imagined in the state. Don't let the test scores trick you because most of the time students are stressed and struggling with teachers who barely help out when they are confused or struggling. The media lies about this being the best school in the district because of the test scores. I've never been to a school that has stressed students out that bad. If you send ur students here just get ready for them to be depressed, bullied, on drugs, or some kind of addiction. read more

Honestly I'm only writing this review to talk about the horrible rude staff in the office. They give you dirty looks when you come in late and laugh with their coworkers but when it comes to the actual students going here, they seem so against you succeeding. My counselor told me about method schools for an online summer program but was so vague about the whole thing, I had no idea what I was even signing up for. All in all, staff, fix your attitude. You work at a conventionally high-end high school for you not to give a shit about the students? Cmon now. read more

Los Osos High School resembles a castle, and It Is not only aesthetically BEAUTIFUL, but the educators are also extremely sagacious as well. The students and teachers of the campus have high IQs, and their athletic programs are extremely robust. I will never forget the teachers, staff, and my fellow students at Los Osos High School. GREAT SCHOOL! My kid were great there! They have a great dance team along with very nice people and teachers! The opportunities are endless!

Not impressed at all at how they are handling distance learning. They modified the schedule which didn't seem necessary. My kids only get instruction on each subject twice per week and even then, some teacher will only go online for about 15 minutes. In several occasions teachers don't even show up to class, or will email them an assignment in lieu of any instruction from them. I've called the school to discuss my concern and they basically protect each other instead of looking into the issue. My daughter now tells me about a teacher, who during her freshman year called a student stupid and worthless on several occasions. We moved into the area so that my kids could go to this school and now I'm full of regret. read more

Overcrowded school and overall the school district with a huge DRUGS problem. Students can buy any drugs and any prescribed medicine in any corner and any time of the day on the territory of the school and nearby. Administration and the city itself are doing nothing to stop it. Drug dealers love Los Osos because most of the students come from rich families. They have only a few councilors who are responsible for 600-700 students each. It is very difficult to reach them and to get an educational advice when needed. Although LOHS has meetings and presentations for parents throughout the school year, they don't go deeper than that to stop those problems and/or help their own students. Almost each teacher sees and teaches around 200-250 students per day. There is no specific attention to any of them because physically it is impossible to do and kids are left neglected. Kids basically have no supervision and they are left neglected. Very very much disappointed with the administration of the school and Chaffey Unified school district that is considered to be the best around the area. read more

I will be the first to say the Muslim issue with this school has been blown way out of proportion and only to the benefit of the media and of the benefactors. It was an error and most people know it was a minor error that is was not just the young lady but many students whose named where switched in the yearbook. The media won't tell you this. However...that being said.......the girl was not even identifying as Muslim at the school until an organization supported her because she attended christian club unbeknownst to her parents. The girls decision was not even her own but pressured by her parents so they could get money from the school. There are plenty of reasons to dislike this school. I think the issue here they set standards that they themselves fail to carry out. I believe that alot of the teachers (not all) but many teachers here are lazy and really don't care about the students here. This school needs a major rework in terms of overseeing the teachers and how they manage their students and work on helping their students. When they make agreements with parents and students they need to follow through with those agreements. Especially when they threaten with action if you don't follow thru and they make no progress or closure to their promise. Wither it a top down managment down issue is still not apparent but it really is a major issue. The superintendent really needs to look into this. If you have a child who has ANY special needs wither it be emotional or physical DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE. If your child has really good performance and a good attitude but needs encouragement....DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. If you have a child that...needs no help, no encouragment or guidance, assistance and pretty much can teach themselves or really have no necessary need for a teacher in general but just need a legal place to go to school to say they have attended. Then perhaps this would be a good choice. Overall my experience here as a school has been horrible. Fellow parents have the same issue. Even to the point of seeing a A student almost became a failing one after transfering from Alta Loma. I think its sad because Rancho Cucamonga is a beautiful city but this school is all looks and no heart. I can see where this school is very good at crushing spirits but not much else. Our children are precious and they matter. Helping them suceed is important and your word is just as important as the student. When both fail, we all loose. This is a case of the blind leading the blind. There is much need for WISDOM and HEART in this school. read more

As a Minority this school was awful. Even though they pride themselves academically their teaching curriculum only focused on the grades teaching what was only on their tests. The academic counseling is disastrous I had Mr. McDonald who only focused on the promising students and barely listened to what the student had said regarding classing and choosing our path without our consent. Even going as far as telling us his opinion of what our future looked like. Over all the school has big drug problem between having dogs searching for drugs and a police/security on campus at all times cracked heads were surely seen and made. read more

Nice campus and office staff is friendly enough. The school sends progress reports to your email every day if you select this online which is helpful in keeping your child on task and parents informed. The counselors have always accommodated my requests and let me communicate via email instead of lengthy meetings for a simple question. Good experience so far. I had several people say that because this is a "Rich area school" that there are a lot of drugs.. but it seems that's everywhere and my child hasn't experienced this; get your kids in a good group of friends no matter where they go and they'll be fine. My kids complain our sports teams suck, but they still don't want to transfer to Rancho or Etiwanda. We're grateful we were able to transfer in. read more

This school is great but they only care about the students that are easy! I graduated two years ago but my brother is still in high school. THIS school told mom and brother ,who struggles a lot in school although he's very intelligent, that if he attends a continuation school he can complete all the credits he need in order to graduate the same year with his friends. LITTLE DID WE KNOW they were just trying to get rid of him. The continuation school told us OFTEN they send "troubling" students to those schools to get them off their hands. They sent him their with unrealistic goals, false hopes and LIES. The lady we had a meeting with at the school said it herself there mathematically there was no way what Los Osos was possible. Now my brother is beyond hurt and upset. AND WILL NOT be graduating this year after working his BUTT OFF trying to finish all these credits to graduate with his friends and girlfriend. So attend this if u like a staff that's only interested in the easy students. read more
