We live in Texas and were admittedly skeptical when the people we're meeting suggested tacos, but we were pleasantly surprised. We tried 6 different tacos and all were tasty. Would definitely recommend if you're in this area and craving decent Mexican. Margaritas were also delicious, but we did have a slight mix up with the type of tequila we requested. read more

Came here from Google reviews and heard good things from local friends. Started with chips and red salsa. The salsa was savory and it is a good appetizer. The tacos were fantastic. The beef tongue taco is so tender with just the right amount of chewiness. The pork belly was tasty and refreshing, felt great having it. The bottom is the bison one, too salty, not recommended. Ended with the churros, perfect to end a savory meal. Overall, great experience and would recommend it to taco lovers and those yet to fall in love with tacos. read more

Dinner was delicious. Unfortunately, being seated in a cold and drafty upstairs with a grumpy, inattentive server overshadowed the good food. There was effectively no ambiance. You shouldn't be counting down for your dinner to end. Sadly too common an experience in the London restaurant scene where barely mediocre is often misdiagnosed as great. read more

Hands down best tacos in London. Great choices for meat lovers and vegetarian too. Gets busy so come early.

Food is always good (love the huge nacho platter as have tons of food and leftovers). Tacos and burritos are solid. The tres leches is unbelievable. Eat here several times a year so would definitely recommend. read more

We were not impressed on this past Saturday night for dinner. The staff members were not polite and didn't make us free welcome to come in into their restaurant. We finally got seated and never had a staff member come to our table for about 10 minutes and the four of us decided to leave. We have lived right beside the restaurant for two years and told everyone how great the restaurant's food is but never tried to eat in. After this weekend we won't give positive remarks about eating in. We did come in later in the evening and if they didn't want to serve us just tell us and we wouldn't have come in. We were very disappointed about trying to enjoy the restaurant. we ended up going to a restaurant down the street and they welcome us right away when we entered the patio and enjoyed it. read more

The last two visits have had some serious bobbles that warrant an update. On visit 1, our order wasn't taken for at least 15 minutes, then it didn't arrive for another 45 minutes. This was at lunch on a weekday when the place wasn't even halfway full. No bikkie was offered such as a complimentary dessert or soda. When I asked the server for a hot sauce that didn't contain onions he derisively snorted that they don't carry any commercial sauces such as Tabasco. Query how they season Caesars. Visit 2 was on a weekend night. When I tried to advise the server of my allergies he curtly replied that they don't do any substitutions; first time that I've heard that, and all that I was asking for was lettuce instead of something that I couldn't eat. I would note that all the ingredients that I need to have removed are considerably more costly to restos than lettuce, so applying discretion would have been the better path here. The pitcher of margaritas ($44!) arrived filled halfway with ice. Is bar lime that expensive? Worse, the server spilled part of it while pouring - again, no apology, nothing done about it. None of the dishes that we ordered were spectacular and mine wasn't hot enough. The gouging continued when I asked for a side hot sauce - 50 cents for that. They would do well to turn down the music a bit. read more

Los Lobos is one of my favorite spots in London. The food is interesting, flavourful, and super-high-quality. The tacos are superb. The burritos are amazing. Here's the thing; it isn't what you might imagine! These aren't boring tacos and burritos and I'm not normally into Mexican or LatAm food in general. These are true gourmet versions that elevate this style of food to the next level! I'm giving this place five stars, but if I have one complaint, it's the decor in the men's washroom! Not PG... so this isn't a place to bring kids. read more

Delicious food and great patio. Vegetarian tacos are superb! Needs Latin American music, though!!

Love, love, love their tacos! My favorite are carnita, battered fish and beef cheek. I used to love their blackened fish but it doesn't seem to be on the menu any more. Their tortilla chips are addictive. Love the guac and ceviche. One of our favorite places to eat in London. Great patio. Here's a photo of the tres leches. read more

I finally got a chance to try Los Lobos! Everytime I've come here there's been a long wait and they don't take reservations. Now I understand why it's so busy. It's the perfect atmosphere for a night out with loud music and painted street art walls! Not necessarily the place to go if you're looking for a romantic date night with deep conversation though. The mole sauce on the chilaquiles is made with over 30 ingredients, making it sweet, spicy and salty. The tacos are small, but full of toppings. As someone who really appreciates a good corn tortilla, I'd prefer a larger tortilla for how overfilled they were. At $5 a pop you can try many flavours! I can't wait to go back to try more! read more

Great little place with a fantastic vibe. Reminds me of the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago. Wait staff friendly, great selection of drinks, shareable plates and individual entrees. Shared Guac & chips both of which are homemade. Had Pork Belly & Carnitas tacos. Felt the carnitas tacos were a little too greasy but the Pork Belly were crispy with just the right amount of punch from the jalapeños, fantastic taste. They had an artist from Toronto create the inside ambiance, worth a visit! read more

Los Lobos may very well be the coolest spot in #ldnont. No, they don't take reservations, yes, there is typically a wait to be seated, but it is absolutely worth it! Their street art inspired decor is like none other in this city and the hip hop playing on the speakers adds to its killer vibe. We went on a Saturday evening around 6:30 and waited about 20 minutes. Just enough time for us to grab a drink at the bar. Having just been to Mexico, we were craving some mezcal and we were so happy Los Lobos could deliver! In addition to the many tequilas on the menu, they also had mezcal, tequila's more elusive relative. It isn't as easy to buy here in Canada and it is delicious. I enjoyed the Malo Mezcalo which was not too sweet yet flavourful. My boyfriend had the #notmypresident which is basically an old fashioned made with tequila. It was also fantastic. Once seated, our server was an absolute dream. She was sweet, kind, and very helpful. We started with the chilaquiles, the mole sauce on top was out of this world! It is made with 32 ingredients including milk chocolate. We went the taco route. I got the carnitas and the battered cod. I loved the fish taco with two huge chunks of fresh fish and the sauces were delicious. The carnitas are paired with a pineapple salsa which is both sweet and spicy, and so so good! I love that they have Mexican coke on the drink menu. It comes in the classic bottle and it's made with real sugar. It pairs so well with tacos! We saw another table get the $40 nachos and it came out on a huge serving tray. It took 4 grown men to tackle it. I'm not sure they even finished it. We ended our meal with a classic plate or Churros! They were still piping hot from the deep fryer, with a gooey middle. The chocolate sauce was smooth and not too sweet. It was perfect. This was our second attempt to feast at Los Lobos and It did not disappoint. Now I'm chock-full of Mexican food and ready for a nice long siesta. read more

My Wife and I thought we would go to Los Lobos today and try this restaurant out , Hearing good things about it . We were seated on the Patio , very nice sunny Day , nice atmosphere and were very excited at this point to be at this Restaurant and enjoying their Patio. All was going well as we were enjoying a nice refreshing Modelo beer . The waiters and waitress's came and went with drinks and peoples food , however we waited 1 hour for our food order to arrive only after asking is there a problem with our Order ?. A good tip was not order for this restaurant after this visit . read more

the waiter had horrible breath. it was so bad it ruined our meal. imagine trying to eat after that constant smell. it was halitosis for sure. it was hard to taste the food after that. slow service. 25-35 minutes between checks in at table. 40 minutes for appetizers and 90 minutes for food. but it was an automatic 20% tip! when you don't have to work for it, you don't bother to give good service! read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because I feel like it is expensive with a limited menu to be considered authentic Mexican style and flavour. This place is a good place to go if you want "gourmet" tacos and to taste sometime similar to authentic Mexican food. The drinks are expensive and are very strong .. I guess that's Mexican style? (Not entirely) TO CLARIFY: the food was good. The majority of tacos we tried were really good. Some were "meh". The Queso fundido (appetizer) with refried beans was kind of sweet .. I was expecting something salty. The atmosphere is very hip. Tons of skulls and rocker kind of feel. The bathrooms are clean.. it would be a nice patio place in the summer time. Just not as authentic as I thought it would be. read more

This is a cute place with cute decor and delicious tacos and many varieties. The staff are friendly and helpful, explaining that Los Lobos is a restaurant where it's recommended to share plates - this is really helpful, considering this kind of meal-sharing isn't common at many restaurants in London. I had the cod, black bean, and beef cheek tacos. However, delicious as they may be, the tacos are a bit expensive and a bit small/overfilled - sometimes it was difficult to eat them without all the ingredients falling out - but that's not too much of a problem considering how delicious they were. Overall I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

Consistently poor dinner service. Been a few times now trying to give this place a fair shake given the positive reviews on yelp but our service is always late, the staff are consistently rude, service is slow, one time they double charged us and we had to call the next day to try and get it fixed because our server wouldn't. Another time a member of our group got sent something he didn't order they sent out what he did order but charged him for their mistake. With regards to the food, it's mediocre tasting at best which makes the food incredibly overpriced given that you're clearly not paying for service or taste. I would never recommend going to this place. read more

This is my 3rd time here, and I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars. This time, we went up to the Night Owl while waiting for drinks, and that was cool (although expensive and cash only). Still, it's a cool spot for a special occasion. It's loud and dark, be warned. This time, my sister ordered a bunch of the dips and although the dips themselves were fine, I have never tasted worse tortilla chips. They are sooooo greasy. Deep-fried and greasy. You can barely eat a couple before you're grossed out. BE WARNED. Please see my previous reviews for more details about food. Due to the service and vibe and the rest of the menu, I'll keep my review at a 4... but this chip disaster might make me think twice about visiting (and bringing friends). read more

The food is incredible! The chef's creations are innovative, varied and delicious. Tacos priced at $5/per means you can try many of the different options. The basic fish taco was simple, fresh and batter-fried to perfection. The mole sauce and the pineapple salsa on other tacos sublime! My favorite were the carnitas - perfecto! The food however redeems what would otherwise have been a lower rating. The service was perfunctory at best, we got what we ordered in a somewhat timely fashion. The interior ambiance is oppressive, overly loud music means any conversations are shouted. There is an impressive selection of mixed drinks on top of the expected margaritas and a variety of brews. The sangria tasted like red wine and margarita mix, too much lime not enough sweet. We will return but only during the season when we can sit outside. read more

I wanted to like this place, I really did. My boyfriend and I had tried to go numerous times before in the evening as I LOVE tacos and just had to try it, but there was always a lineup out the door. This time we tried on a Saturday early afternoon, and we were seated right away. Love the decor. Staff was incredibly nice. Nice beer selection. But the most important part, the FOOD, I couldn't get on board with. We got the guacamole to start. It wasn't anything special, bit bland. Although the warm chips that came with it were nice and different. We then got some tacos - the pork belly, carnitas, battered cod, and beef cheek. The pork belly was quite good, but all the others were just okay. If I could re-order, I would've just gotten 3 pork belly. The battered cod tasted VERY fishy (I know it's fish, but some fish are "fishier" than others, and it can vary by batch too of course) and it overpowered the whole taco. The carnitas and beef cheek could've been more flavourful. For the price I was expecting better. I don't know if I am spoiled living in Toronto with tons of Mexican restaurants, and I've also been to a small surf town in Mexico and had tacos there, but these tacos just weren't great :(. I visit London occasionally and was hoping to make this my "taco place," but I just can't. Won't be back. read more

Los Lobos isn't cheap or fast. If you want that, you can always hit Taco Bell. What it is though, is really, really solid Mexican, the likes of which London has never seen before. I really enjoyed the tacos they used to serve at Night Owl, so it was sad when they closed up shop. Little did I realize, the Wolfe brothers were just moving their operation a few blocks North to "the building formerly known as the APK." The tacos really do deserve a full-time gig and Los Lobos makes the best of it. Los Lobos doesn't do reservations and on the Saturday night we were there, it was a 45 minute wait. But the hostess gladly escorted us to their fancy 'speakeasy' bar upstairs and we had a drink while we waited. We weren't in a rush so it was worth the wait. When we did finally get our table, the service was prompt and friendly, and we chose a mixture of starters and tacos. We had the scallop ceviche that was good although it could have used a bit more citrusy bite; the guac was quite good too; both came with a mound of chips, making it way more food than we probably needed. For tacos, the real standout was the fried fish. But I also really liked the pork belly and beef cheek. Cocktails are inventive and interesting, although the Mexican Coke is a cool alternative if you're not doing alcohol. Our server was extremely helpful and friendly, and we stuck around for a few minutes to chat with her after we were done. read more

The food was good the service sucked all of our stuff, drinks included were dropped on the table, my plate was left, with fork, knife and napkin on it, for the duration after clearing half the table. Then the automatic 18% tip on top of the bill, so either your a complete ass and make them remove it or you just eat it and tip for shitty service. read more

I've heard plenty of people say that the place is too busy and the lineups are unbearable but we went on the Saturday night of a long weekend and were seated right away. Of course I appreciate we got lucky and am simply suggesting perhaps planning your visit accordingly. The patio was great and the decor inside had a cool, Mexican day-of-the-dead theme going which was really pretty awesome. Our server was friendly and attentive and the bartender even paid our table a visit to chat and recommend drinks. It was pretty cool. I had the #NotMyPresident cocktails which was a boozy concontion that really started the meal properly. My wife enjoyed a Dos Equis and my sons settled on Mexican cokes. For appetizers we enjoyed fresh made tortilla chips with housemade guacamole and jalepenos relenos. These were exceptional - the cornmeal breading really made them and the mole sauce was also amazing. For the main course we simply ordered a variety of tacos: beef cheek, pork belly, chicken and cod and when my son stated that they were the best tacos he had ever tried it was difficult to disagree. We also had a side of refried beans and grilled corn with lime butter and I would highly recommend both of them. We were all so full that we had to skip dessert but hope to try it on a return visit. Oh yes, we will be back. The menu, was smaller than I might of thought, was full of food that was carefully thought out and well prepared. It really was exceptional. With such a glowing review you're likely wondering why no 5th star? Honestly, it was surprisingly expensive. Well, maybe not surprising but it kind of sneaks up on you. For a family of four it was about $130. - and not many adult beverages were ordered. Actually, you know what, if money is not object for you and you just want good food and a fun night you can consider this a 5-star review. We will certainly be back and recommend it to others. read more

Yet another incredible offering from the Wolfe brothers. Their menu selections are once again top notch. This is not just a typical Mexican-themed eatery. One can clearly see the thought and effort that has gone into making this menu, as well as the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. There is nothing haphazard here. The hardest part was deciding what to try first. Even in the first week of business, the dining experience was excellent. In time, I can only imagine the experience getting even better. The meal was fantastic and service extremely friendly. Looking forward to many repeat visits with my family and friends. read more

I'm kinda looking forward to going here in the summer. For its popularity, it's too small. No reservations, so one has to wait in the cold or go elsewhere and wait for a text. The food, for all one talks of how wonderful it is, it's really not great traditional Mexican. The starters u pay for would be on your table at a good Cali Mexican restaurant. The lingua tacos were different both times I visited. First time great, second really disappointing. The whole vibe feels like "you lucky to be here and we need you out of here quickly, there's others waiting " No hurry to go back. read more

This place is super busy and for a reason, it's delicious. The first time we tried to get a table here it was a three hour wait, luckily it was much quicker the second try. This isn't just hype but good food. Aside from an expanded taco menu theres an impressive selection of small plates, i would recommend the jalapeño rellneo . Unfortunately our order ended up at the wrong table, but our server was apologetic and it was fixed . Bad food and drinks for so much money. $12 for a bad margarita, no thank you, I can make it better at home. And the tacos are $5 each, smaller than my hand and frankly do not have fresh ingredients. My boyfriend had the beef cheek and it was so bad he took a bite and almost threw up. Also in terms of service, we tried to get the check 3 times in a 20 minute period and were ignored. It does not live up to the prices whatsoever, the drinks are small and not very good, the food is bad and not fresh and the service is bad overall. One of the worst places I've ever been. read more

Went here on recommendations from others. Won't be back. Will say now NOT the servers fault! We ordered the mexi meatballs....they came cold. She asked if we wanted them to fix it we said no but please make sure ur main course comes hot. One burrito and battered cod tacos. Both came cold! She apologized and said they'd do a do-over! Fish tacos came back hot but burrito was maybe hot at the outside edges but cold in the middle. She asked if he wanted it warmed we refused, I ate my fish tacos. The manager brusquely brought the bill, kind of slammed it on the table, said not charging for the food and walked away. No apology, nothing! Very disappointed and won't be back! read more

One star for the food which in my opinion was just ok... Invited 10 other lady's out for dinner to this restaurant, went an hour and a half early to ensure we would get a table. There were 2 ladies sitting at a table of 10 with 8 empty chairs and hostess refused to move them even though they hadn't ordered yet. 2.5 hours later those 2 ladies had no intention of leaving while me and 10 other ladies were waiting at the front for the one and only table that accommodates 10 ppl. When spoke to hostess "loudly" (even though the music was blasting)she was offended and asked the manager to come speak to me as her feelings were hurt. 2.5 hours of waiting the manager said if I wasn't happy I could leave, After all the ladies I had invited were at the door and had been waiting with me. You can imagine the rest of the evening after that. Kitchen was uncooperative with many things I asked, waiter was nice however the manager did not come over once to see if our 350 dollar order was ok or our stay was enjoyable. The fact that they don't take reservations for large groups is pretty ridiculous, and they will never get my business or anyone I know again. I invited ten people to join me at Los Lobos last night for dinner. As they do not take reservations, three of us went early to secure a table. We had a beautiful table together on the patio. The server took our drink order and our food order and then she basically was never seen again. The nachos came out first. We had no napkins, no silverware and no plates. The server who ran the food said the kitchen was out of small plates. This is information that I don't care about. You bring me a large plate then. You do not bring the worlds largest nachos to a group of ten with no napkins or plates. Our food then came and we still had no extra plates and our silverware had been taken so we had to ask again. We sat there for the next hour and waited for someone to clear our plates and bring us the bill. An HOUR I went inside to speak to the manager and she gave me a look that told me she was not concerned about our poor service. She didn't care at all. No one said anything to us. No one apologized. No one came out and finally cleared our food. After the server finally came to ask us who was on what bill, she took another half an hour to get the bills and print them. By then our group was standing around because we could no longer sit patiently. I have never had such poor service and such a lack of care shown by service staff. My favourite part of the evening was when the server (who wasn't good at her job at all) brought us our bills after we waited for an hour, didn't apologize and just stood there with the debit machine collecting her 18% tip. Brutal. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. I will be telling everyone I know how awful the service was though read more
