We found Los Hermanos (I thought it was Dos Hermanos?) on Priceline. The owner of the hotel and restaurant does not speak English, but we managed to communicate. I can speak a little Spanish, and my husband is good with gestures. We found our room to be somewhat spartan (not much decor) but it was clean and all we needed for one night. We ate in the hotel restaurant; I had never had the soup they served (with jamon and mussels and something else), but it was delicious. We ate breakfast the next morning and there was a limited menu, but the hotel owner was friendly and gave service with a smile. When I talked to him about the Santa Semana parade in Ocana, he took us around the lobby and showed us posters form last year (we were there about a week before Holy Week). He even gave me a poster from the wall and also helped carry my very heavy suitcase (even with rollers) up to our 3rd floor room. We enjoyed our stay and lingered in Ocana the next day to check out the town square and a bookstore and Dominican museum. We would stay here again. Not luxurious by any means, but a good value, and the local color of a small town and graciousness of the host were amazing. read more
