Lake Chabot Regional Park

From the moment you arrive, it feels like a true escape from the city--quiet, expansive, and surrounded by nature. The scenery alone is worth the visit. The lake is stunning, especially when the light hits the water, and the surrounding hills and greenery make it feel immersive and calming. It's the kind of place that instantly slows you down and helps you breathe a little deeper. One of the biggest highlights is the sheer number of trails available. There are so many options, whether you're looking for a casual walk, a longer hike, or something more challenging. The trails are well maintained and offer a great mix of lake views, wooded areas, and open stretches. It's also a great park because it works for so many different types of outings. You'll see hikers, runners, cyclists, families, and people just enjoying time outdoors. There's plenty of space, so it never feels overcrowded, even when it's busy. Lake Chabot Regional Park is a true gem. The natural beauty, variety of trails, and peaceful atmosphere make it a place you'll want to return to again and again. Whether you're local or just visiting, it's absolutely worth spending time here.

I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent experience at the park and…read moremarina area. During my visit, my children and I waited nearly two hours to get on a pontoon boat while I observed management allowing other individuals to board boats based on personal relationships or favoritism. This felt unfair and unprofessional In addition the staff behavior inside the café was extremely disappointing and lacked professionalism. The only positive part of the experience was the young men working on the dock, who remained respectful and uplifting once they noticed I was upset. They handled themselves professionally despite the stressful environment around them I also noticed several safety and cleanliness concerns throughout the area. Many of the boats appeared old poorly maintained and dirty From what I observed employees were mainly instructed to spray the boats down quickly with hoses, with little to no proper cleaning supplies being used This does not appear to be an effective or safe maintenance process for equipment being used by families and visitors Another concern was the way some employees were treated by management I witnessed behavior that appeared disrespectful and unprofessional toward staff members. I strongly believe all visitors and employees should be treated with courtesy, fairness, and professionalism at all times, regardless of background or position Overall the lack of organization, customer service, assistance, and maintenance created a very frustrating experience for my family and negatively impacted our visit to the park I respectfully ask that management seriously review these concerns and take appropriate action to improve customer service, employee treatment, safety standards, cleanliness, and overall operations moving forward

Fantastic experience! I had done sailing couple of times in smaller boats. But this was…read moreexhilarating. You get ample chance to work on "grinders" when sails have to unfurled and / or adjusted. Crew is very friendly and humors all naive sailing related questions without snickering. We were also lucky with co operating weather - high tide co in coding with same wind direction. Main attraction was the fact that it was a racing boat. I was skeptical about how much of "racing" experience I was going to get. As we got on the boat, instructions were given. When they say "boat will tilt 30°", they mean it! And thanks to colleague's app, we could verify that speed while going against the wind was around 5 miles/hr but along with the wind while coming back was almost 14 miles / hour. That was mind boggling! Will definitely do the excursion again.

Thank you John, Will n Pete for an AMAZING time onboard USA 76 sailing the Bay…read more These guys are down to earth, fun and encourage your participation while sailing. Not set route...it's where ever the winds take us. Headed out of Pier 31 to the East side of Alcatraz Island, out towards the Golden Gate Bridge...we even went outside the gate and back around. Be sure to have your cameras ready for photo opportunities because you wont see these sights from land. Not only do you get to sail on an America Cup's vessel USA 76, you have opportunity to take the helm and steer the vessel n set the sails throughout the trip. Besides the scenery and being on the water, passenger participation is what really makes this adventure fun. Weather was perfect...little overcast, got some rain and the sun popping through the clouds ever so often. If you didnt bring a heavy enough jacket, they will provide. Dont be afraid of getting motion sickness...it's all good. Special shout-out to my friend Bernadette for booking this excursion. She is one of the Concierges at the Argonaut Hotel.

James was truly the best. He got us in last minute and worked so hard to find great whites for us…read moreto see. He drove around all over to ensure that we got to see them. Our brake line had blown as we pulled into the parking lot and he not only tried to help fix it but drove my husband to the auto parts store. He was the nicest guy around and I would for sure recommend him to anyone that wants to go on any kind of tour!

If you want an adventure, you want to know Captain James Moskito and Safari Monterey…read more I've known James for years and have done a few various adventures with him from whale watching to white shark adventures. I haven't been on one of his travel vacations yet, but plan on it one day. He's a class act, extremely knowledgeable about his field, the animals, the adventures, the conservation, the areas, etc etc.; Whatever adventure you decide to take with Safari Monterey, just know it'll be a great time and he'll bust his ass to make sure you get the experience you pay for. That being said, nature is nature and NOT a zoo, so you may or may not see the animal du jour, but just know that it won't be due to lack of effort On James' part. This weekend I did a whale and white shark tour; 3 hours encircled by 20+ Whales and 4 hours searching for Great Whites, all while covering 64-nautical miles and we didn't see a White Shark until 10-min before docking! Luckily, I had my camera out taking a photo of a Pelican, when James yelled "SHARK", then brought the boat to a stop... and that was it. The shark went down and didn't come back up. We estimated at 11'-13'. It was a BIG dorsal fin. There were Whales everywhere you looked all across the bay and we got our fill there. Just came up short on White Sharks, but it was a great day overall with James and Safari Monterey.
