Amazing food! My partner and I have gotten delivery from here twice and it was perfect both times.

Very disappointed, flavor was just ok. Two of our orders were wrong because the waiter did not come to one end of the table where he could hear. One of the soda drinks was not mixed correctly. read more

i have enjoyed a number of fajitas's in my life and I can honestly say the one i had at this place yesterday was the worst I have ever had. Will not be eating there ever again. read more

I'll start with the food - we got an order of queso to go with our chips, and it was fine, but I'm not rushing to order it again. I got the Chori Pollo and it was delicious. My husband got the Carnitas, also pretty good. The service, unfortunately, was abysmal and soured our experience. We had asked for an extra bowl of chips when we ordered the queso. We asked again when our drinks arrived as well, but we did not get our extra chips until after our actual meals arrived. At that point, the still pretty full queso was cold and we had our meals to eat. And then that poor bowl of extra chips was hardly touched. We had to wait a long time to get our bill as well, and if we had needed something during our meal, I'm sure we would have had to go searching for some help. We were seated in the back corner booth, so perhaps that is why we were forgotten, but my husband said he won't go back here again. I will only get takeout from now on! read more

I like this restaurant, everyone is nice and the street tacos are my favorite! I also get a virgin michealada with sparkling water instead of beer and it's delicious! read more

This place has been great. Satisfaction every time we come. The staff is always nice and the food is always good. The price to us was pretty cheap. Overall definitely our go to Mexican restaurant. read more

Awesome food and great service. Best item for me that I order every time is the Chili Colorado!!!

The food was delicious! It came fast and the service was great our waitress checked in on us frequently and refilled our drinks frequently and the ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful. read more

Whenever we are in Derby this is our goto place for Mexican food. Due to Covid we had it delivered. Let me tell you it was just as good as we remembered minus the cold beer we normally get there. Portion sizes are more than fair and the food arrived hot. Very happy with everything read more

Always enjoy the food here, the service is sometimes hit and miss. I have had attentive servers and I've had servers that forgot our table existed. Most of the time I have no issues. Will be back read more

Delicious food, kind waitress, laid-back environment. They were excellent with our young children.

The food and service is lacking at best. Will not return. If you like burnt food and poor service, then this place is for you.

Good price on food. Even if they look busy, the service is quick. Never have a problem with the taste or temp of the food. Margaritas are good, at a good price. But other drinks are a little pricey $$ read more

Blown away at the quality of food and speed of service. We had fresh salsa within seconds of being seated. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I got the chicken chimichanga, which wasn't over-fried and the queso dip was top tier. I'll make it a point to come back to try some drinks. read more

I walked in, got sat and then went into the bathroom. I was horrified to be punched in the face with one the worst raw sewage smells I've ever encountered. I immediately walked out without a word to anyone. If you can't get your bathroom in order, I shudder to think of what the kitchen is like. read more

Went here on a date last night on 9-4-21 only 1 or 2 workers worn masks which is whatever it was clean inside and pretty busy that's the only reason we went to Los CoCo's because we've always seen it busy so was thinking they must have great food and service but man were we wrong the waiter kept on checking in like every minute if that and the salsa tasted like marinara sauce and my date ordered the chicken tacos which he didn't even finished it wasn't good at all and I ordered Enchiladas los Cabos which was kinda disgusting and it gave me food poisoning which is great when going on a date without the kids lol. And I have no idea why they are so busy all the time it's not good food at all unless your going for drinks which we didn't do. read more

Derby has no shortage of Mexican restaurants. Los Cocos is my favorite for a combination of atmosphere, good food and service. Try the lunch tamale... you will be pleased. Charro beans are excellent as well. read more

Obviously, the closest to Mexican food you're going to find in Derby is from the colorful suburban "Mexican" restaurants like Los Cocos. No 3,000-word essays from me this time; just some observations: -Those hard-backed chairs fit the overly-Mexican theme, but man, they are not comfortable. -No semblance of spice is used here. You only get one type of salsa - mild - and while it's not bad (I polished off two bowls while waiting), it's nothing to write home about. Too, the chile verde I ordered had a little pepper icon next to it on the menu, but I don't know why. -The "pork tips" in the tomatillo chile were suspiciously tender for whatever cut of pork it actually was (looked more like tenderloin to me), but at least it was tender. The bright tomatillo sauce and slightly caramelized red onions provided a nice counterbalance, too. -I had no way of ordering a la carte, so I was stuck with the rice and beans. They were particularly bland in this case. -Service was nice. At the end of the meal, everyone said it was "good" and left it at that. In my experience, a dismissive comment such as that isn't so much a ringing endorsement as it is a comment that you were just looking for a reason to get out of the house. read more

Los CoCo's Mexican Restaurant - cars parked in front - Mexican Near Me - Derby, Kansas

Just about everything is amazing here. I catered them for my wedding because it was so good and everyone still tells me today it was some of the best wedding food they have ever had because it wasn't a normal big name cater that everyone use in town. My favorite dish here is the enchilada suiza or the chicken soup. OMG that chicken soup is so good! I always ask for my side with the enchilada's to be papa's (potatoes with lots of amazing white cheese on top). Everything here is legit, and it is probably the closest you will get to the real deal. This is the only Mexican restaurant I will consider going to because the quality is that good. Also, every time I come in the owner is always kind and greets us and makes a point to come by the table to say hello. Be sure to beat the rush from dinner or provide plenty of time to wait because sometimes the place can get packed! read more

Went twice. Food was disgusting and drinks were watery and ho-hum. Unsure why this place is always packed!

It was amazing, I'm coming again. Thanks for your service your food is great and your ambiance is great also

Los cocos are the worst Mexican restaurant in derby, and it is always packed. The service is horrible and when you do get service they are mean. My young sister got a side of fries with her quesadilla and it came on an extremely cold plate and had limp fries. The tacos meat is as dry as death valley. There is inconsistency on the salsa per person. Mine was overly salty and my brother's was just bland. For me i would just save your money read more

The food is not good but that's fine everyone has different taste but they're going viral on Facebook for stealing so there is that, think twice before going there read more

I love it here! My family and I eat here often. I love the homemade chips and the enchiladas are delicious. Reasonably priced for a good meal. read more

I only eat one thing from here (fajita chicken quesadilla), I found it once loved it and haven't felt the need to try anything else. I did a Togo order tonight and was greeted kindly by not 1, but 3 hostesses! My food was ready to go and I was thanked & invited back. I enjoyed my delicious meal & look forward to going back. read more

My wife and I usually frequent Casa rather than Los Cocos, but this Friday we had lunch here and it was on point. Margaritas not the best but you can't beat the price, carne asada tacos were on point and my wife got a vegetarian burrito that she modified with all sorts of add ons... our server, Juanito, not only did he get our orders perfect but he did it all by memory. The lunch crowd wasn't very big so I expected good service, but we didn't get good service we got excellent service. We will be back. read more

Los CoCo's Mexican Restaurant - Tacos carne asada - Mexican Near Me - Derby, Kansas

There r no words to describe the food this place served Oh and the beer is served warm, server stated, "The fridge it's stored in isn't that cold." One must have a sense of accomplishment when working in the service environment, none of that was found here. Never does one serve cold sides with extremely hot food. Results.....runny crap! Warm beer, lacked service, and micowaved food.....shame, shame, shame. I do not recommend this restaurant to any local....and traveler's beware! FYI....I had to give a rating, too bad there aren't negative stars. read more

I was in town visiting and were told this place is good Don't Ever GO Here !!! The food was gross. I order seafood big mistake. My boyfriend ordered enchiladas that was even a bigger mistake. The food had no favor at all. The only thing good at the table was the chips... Just the chips !!! If you want Mexican food don't go here read more

Well, I thought this place was pretty terrific!! Me and my girlfriends all thought it was pretty good. One friend got enchiladas and gave them a 7. My other friend got the flautas and also gave them a 7. I got the queso dip with beef and it was absolutely delicious a 10..I highly recommend it and the guacamole was just as good. The highlights were the 1.99 margaritas and a handsome little fellow flirting with my friend! read more

We eat here on a regular basis. The staff is friendly and competent. I always get the fajitas chicken nachos (I obviously like it!). The margaritas are so so, but the price is comparable. We'll continue to take our business to them. read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in Derby hands down. I like going in on the weekends around 2pm and sitting at the bar and just demolishing the carne asada tacos. Best service/environment in Derby. I would give it 5 stars, but I lived in San Antonio prior and it's hard to compare. read more

Came here because we were craving Mexican food and we were passing through. Wish I could've given it more stars, but sadly it's VERY generic. It's always a bad sign when the food comes out freaky fast because you know it's sitting back there already fixed. My chimichanga wasn't crispy, more like a soggy burrito. Don't come here unless you like generic stuff. I don't expect authentic, it could be Tex mex, but it needs to be different and good. I gave it 3 stars for the temp of food and the decor. read more

BLUF: Great service and staff, that's it. However, El Maguey's food is far superior, plus they also have a great staff and service as well. Will not be returning to Los Cocos. read more

Had a great experience at this restaurant. Ordered the steak and chicken tacos, steak fajitas, steak enchiladas and quest. Everyone was satisfied and happy with their meals. Salsa was great too, which is a total must at a Mexican restaurant! Service was quick and friendly even though it was a Friday night at 6:45. If we lived nearby we would absolutely eat here again. read more

I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad but this is actually my favorite Mexican restaurant in derby. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming. Food is always fresh. read more

If you want real Mexican food do not eat here. It's more like Taco Bell than a real Mexican restaurant. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and the service was lacking. Took a very long time to have our order taken which was followed by an even longer wait for our disappointing dinner. Probably will not eat here again. read more
