Enjoyed the churros here and the artichoke dip! They have a wonderful casual atmosphere with lovely wood tables. The churros came with a little caramel sauce. The artichoke dip came with three cheese dips. We got beers too. read more

I fell in love with the salsa here and feel like it's one of the best salsa's I've had; ever. (Sorry mother in law, lol). We ordered Caldo de pollo ( $120 MXN) for the little one and she gobbled it up quick! I ordered pechuga empanizada y gratinada con verduras ( breaded chicken breast with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies : $140 MXN). Chicken was seasoned excellent, mashed potatoes weren't as chunky as I like, but I finished the whole plate. Place is cozy, good for small groups, but will be pretty tight seating. Not too great for strollers of you happen to have one like us. I would recommend this place due if you're in the area of Valle de Bravo. It's definitely a local's spot to eat.

Sadly, we…read morewere only one of two tables on a Saturday night during the 2+ hours we were there, which was somewhat of a surprise considering we saw a billboard advertising the restaurant upon entering Valle de Bravo. And while this place is fancy and probably unaffordable for most locals, there is no shortage of rich Mexicans who travel to the Valle in the summertime to escape the hustle and bustle of Mexico City. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimp tacos (hand made tortillas, sauteed shrimp, burnt chili salsa and pickled red onion) and the ceviche. For mains, knowing the portions would be small, we split the rib eye with chimichurri, the catch of the day and the pork tenderloin (caña de puerco). Considering we were the only show in town, they staggered the dishes way too quickly. Instead of bringing out just the tacos and the ceviche first, they brought it with the pork tenderloin even though the pork tenderloin was a main dish. Then they brought out the fish and ribeye together. It's almost as if they were rushing us out so they could go home. This was confirmed when they cut the music and some of the lights as we were finishing dessert. Rude. Speaking of dessert, the mandarin cheesecake was just weird. More of a gelatin than a cheesecake and way too mandarin. Among all the dishes we ordered, the pork stood out way ahead of the others, even though I wanted to slap the chef for preparing it sous-vide for hours. Miraculously, it was not nearly as dry as I was expecting. Overall, the only reasons this place is getting three stars is because the food was good, the server was friendly and the ambiance was on point.

We are huge foodies and appreciate high quality ingredients. The empanadas here are one of the tastiest foods I have ever had in my entire life. Take it from me when I say that the zarzamora con queso (blackberry with cheese) empanada will be one of the best things you have ever put in your mouth. Perfectly fried and bursting with jam and cheese. Not too sweet at all and great for breakfast or dessert. The lady working here makes everything by hand and it's all prepared to order. Even the manzana (apple) filling for the empanadas and crepes is made by hand. We ate here almost every day and every single thing I ate here from the empanadas to the fresh juice, gourmet coffee, salad and crepes were DELICIOUS! The zarzamora empanadas are made with blackberries picked in the local mountains (where else can you eat like this? Pure heaven!). We felt at right at home sitting in the quaint, warm, yellow-painted room full of wooden furniture, and vine plants strung across the ceiling and from every corner. The lady/chef is kind and friendly, the seating is comfortable and the food is absolutely the best. I had the following empanadas during my stay and I can vouch that they are incredible: corn with cheese (one of my faves!), chicken (so tasty especially with the chimichurri sauce), beef, mushroom, blackberry (unbelieveable!!!) and apple. The salads are fresh and fantastic but not on the menu, so be sure to just ask (same thing with the rice). My husband also had an omlet that was made just perfectly and was delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place and I cannot believe there is not a line out the door. I don't normlly write reviews, especially ones this long and with such enthusiasm. But I believe in giving credit where credit is due. These empanadas are the best ones you will ever have. You will come back for more, I promise!
