Nestled in Olivehurst, Los Chilangos is a charming little taqueria that delivers big on flavor and hospitality. My wife and I decided to stop by for lunch, and from the moment we arrived, we were impressed. The ample parking out front made it easy to access the restaurant, which, though small, greeted us with an inviting and clean ambiance. As we entered, a warm smile from the woman at the counter set a positive tone for our visit. With the menu in hand, my wife chose the Queso Birria tacos while I opted for the Camerones El Diablo. Eagerly anticipating our meals, we settled at our table and munched on the complimentary chips and salsa--a true litmus test for any Mexican eatery. To our delight, the chips were perfectly crispy, seasoned just right with a hint of salt. The salsas, both red and green, offered vibrant flavors that complemented the chips beautifully. It was clear from the start that we were in for a treat. When our food arrived, it was presented with a smile, and we dove right in. The first bites of rice and beans were nothing short of heavenly--hands down, some of the best I've experienced at a taqueria, and I've sampled many across the USA. The rice was fluffy, and the beans were rich and flavorful, showcasing the care that goes into their preparation. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Birria tacos, noting that while the broth was slightly heavy on cloves, it was otherwise delicious. As for my Camerones El Diablo, it was a standout dish--spicy, succulent shrimp that surpassed any I've had during my culinary travels. One aspect worth mentioning is the pricing; Los Chilangos offers fair rates that are more economical than many competitors while delivering superior quality. However, I did notice the absence of a bathroom inside the restaurant; it could potentially be located outside, so it's advisable to take care of that before your visit. In conclusion, we highly recommend Los Chilangos. With its inviting atmosphere, exceptional food, and friendly service, it's a gem you won't want to miss. You certainly won't be disappointed! read more

El Jalisciense Review…read more We decided to give El Jalisciense a try, and we're so glad we did! We ordered the tripa and al pastor tacos, an asada burrito, botana a la cora, and a pineapple agua fresca. The shrimp in the botana were big and flavorful, although the dish was a little salty for our taste. The tacos were actually really good--full of flavor and well-seasoned. We were also surprised by how big the burrito was for the price; definitely a great value! The pineapple agua fresca was perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, which we really appreciated. We also loved the large cups of water, a small detail that makes a difference! The customer service was very friendly and attentive, and we're definitely looking forward to coming back to try more items from the menu. Overall, this is a great Mexican restaurant! The only thing keeping it from a 5/5 for us would be a salsa bar--having different salsas to choose from would make the experience even better!

Every time I came back to visit family I made it a point to eat at Antonio's Quick Lunch. They are consistent in their food quality and customer service and there is a level of personal nostalgia I have with this place. I rarely actually eat their delicious tacos there though, because of the restaurant's revolving customers and tight space I find it just more enjoyable to pick up Antonio's and take it home or chow down on it at a park.
