I love that they focus on both learning and allowing the kids to have fun, socialize, and be creative. The teachers truly care about the children and their development, and I appreciate the different activities and learning opportunities they provide. It's also great that they provide meals throughout the day, which is such a convenience for working parents. Finding childcare where you feel comfortable leaving your child is so important, and I'm grateful for the care and support we've received from M.A.W. I would definitely recommend them to other families looking for a caring and dependable children's center in the Lakewood area!

It's a large, well-established daycare, with separate classrooms for the different age groups. I had a great experience here growing up, and it meant a lot to me to be able to send my own son here years later. Definitely a place I would recommend to other families looking for a daycare they can trust.

Really recently had my son attend the swimming program yet again…read more My recommendation is that when the kids approach the teacher. It would be nice if the kids are acknowledge and said hello. A greeting is a wonderful gesture to a child and meaningful one. We need to bring back manners. Would also be nice to be very specific with them to rinse off before entering the pool. I've noticed this time and time day after day, and my kid is not even said hello to. I did mention this to the front of the staff, but it continued. Another thing I don't like is it 30 minutes for a swim class is a little bit too short, maybe 40 minutes so that the kids can get used to the water. That's just my recommendation. Wish I could say I'll come back, but I honestly don't know. He finally got another teacher who did a little bit better, but I think acknowledgment is key and being kind and observant is also a good one. My child stayed in the water for a while with nothing to do. If the teacher is with another child, then tell the other kids to do something in the water. Don't have them just hold onto the edge or do nothing. Just a thought. The first star is for easy entrance Second star is for good parking Third star is it's cool inside and lots of flyers to look at.

Plus I was trying to get a gauge of the prices of the trees with type and quality. I ended up getting my tree from them because not only was the 5 ft grand fir ($39) I picked out a super PINEY smelling one but the staff selling the trees were really friendly and patient and answering all my tree questions. My tree is also very furry, not a bald spot in sight and very shiny with soft needles. Staff and volunteer youth offered to trim brushes and the bottom of the tree to my liking. They also offer to bind your tree in plastic netting for transport, very helpful for me as I live in an apartment complex with stairs. They then strapped my tree to the top of my car =) Although the price of my tree was about $4 more than the same size and type of tree variety I chose from the other sights....there was something special about my tree and the people selling me the tree. It called out to me. Plus it had a very distinct and strong PINE smell, other lots trees didn't have that, other lots also had dry trees. My tree is super lush and green...love it, had to have it!! So worth it! For about $4 they also sell mistletoe which benefits the local boy scouts troop. Tree stands were $12 extra as well. The lot itself is also nice because its in a big lot with a tent covering the trees and they had holiday music and complementary hot cocoa and cider that the children were handing out. 100% of the proceeds of the sale go to the Los Alamitos Youth Center, so that makes me feel like I supported the local youth and still got something for the holiday.

The teachers here genuinely care for the children's well-being first and foremost, and it really shows in the way they interact with the students every day. Miss Donna, in particular, has been such a blessing to my son's growth and learning. She takes time out of her day to ensure the kids are not only learning but also feeling safe, supported, and encouraged. Miss Susie and Miss Sandy are also absolutely amazing--together, they create a nurturing, positive, and fun environment for the kids. And I can't forget Miss Shannon, who runs the school so well and makes sure everything flows smoothly for both students and parents. As a parent of a child with health issues, I feel an extra sense of comfort knowing the teachers will pay close attention to him, assess him if anything seems off, and contact me right away if needed. That kind of care and attentiveness gives me so much peace of mind. One of the things I appreciate most is the open communication. I've always felt welcome and never "shut out" of what's going on at the school. They make sure parents are included and informed, which builds such a great relationship between teachers and families. The school also goes above and beyond when it comes to activities--there's always something fun, engaging, and educational planned. From themed days to hands-on learning, the kids are never bored! I've recommended this school to so many people already, and I'll continue to do so. I'm so grateful for the care, attention, and love they pour into these kids every single day. If you're looking for a preschool that truly feels like family, this is it!

I spoke with Amanda today and she told me that she meant to call me back today and let me know that they wouldn't work with me and getting my son enrolled during the summer program. They had my information didn't even bother to call me to let me know that they just waisted my time and didn't bother a courtesy call before hand.
