Just like my Nañas cooking! We came here since we were at the Nursery a block away. As soon as you walk in, the entire restaurant is spotless. I didn't see a Chili Verde plate on the menu but asked and there is. I also got the quesabirria. I wish I didn't have to order to go since food is always better right away. The Chili verde was so good with a thick green sauce and the piece of pork (chicken is an option too) was a nice big piece of meat. It tasted so good with a nice spicy kick. The quesabirria had a nice texture still. Even 20 minutes later. Unfortunately it wasn't spicy but tasted really good. We completely ate the entirety of both plates that come with rice and beans and chip with each plate. I found my new spot for Mexican food.

We've came to this place a couple times now. I don't think they are that good.. they have a large option of items. From steak and shrimp burritos to salmon burritos, mole, fajitas, salads. If you ask me. They have too many options so all that says to me is the food is just being made and not really cooked with that love so flavor just isn't there. Lady at the front is nice and rereads the order. Second time we came she even walked out to door to call us from our car to let us know food was ready! Which was nice but she didn't bring our food all the way to car which I think woulda just made sense but maybe it was in case we wanted salsa or something? Or another customer could've been inside and she didn't wanna leave register unattended. So I completely understand! Nice of her to even come to door to call us. This place just wasn't to my liking. I wouldn't recommend or ce back.

I got four steak, "Mexican City" tacos. Good price at $2.50 each. Friendly service and fresh ingredients. They have a parking lot which makes parking easy.

I'm a Fan !!! Los Contaros is a Authentic Mexican Restaurant!!! They Serve Traditional Home Style Basic Mexican Food!!! Before I went to Los Con taros I read the Various Yelp Reviews which varied from 3 to 5 Stars. So I jumped into my Whip and rolled to Los Con taros . I parked in their Large Parking Lot. I rolled in to Los Con taros like a Boss and Ordered off their Large menu. I ordered a California Super Burrito- Shrimp, French Fries, Black Beans , Rice and Beef . I also ordered 4 Mexico City Street Tacos 2 Beef and 2 Chicken . I paid by Credit Card!!! My Food was ready in 15 Minutes!!! My Super Burrito Past the Arm Size Girth test! It also had a Nice Spinach Wrap !!! It was Packed full of Flavor and Tasty it was!!! The Burrito must have been 3 inch's in Diameter!!! The Mexico City Street Tacos were Delicious and Good sized portions of Chicken and Beef. Service was Friendly and Efficient !!! For all these reasons this is a Baller On a Budget Approved Establishment!!!!

Ordered a super burrito (with tomato tortilla), and extra chips and guacamole. Unfortunately I got pico instead of guac, but that fine (thus the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars). The burrito isn't as large as other taquerias, but to me, that is great because I do not want to feel compelled to overeat and finish the entire thing. The order already comes with a small bag of chips and salsa, which I did enjoy. If you eat there, I believe you can get more.

Um can you tell it used to be a Chinese restaurant? Buddha and Chinese lantern! :)

Meh - I've experienced better....um yeah at their 4 star Emeryville location! This Los Cantaros isn't as welcoming, no salsa bar, no chips or salsa offered, no utensils and the bare minimum ONLY if you ask for it. Met fellow Black Badge Yelper (BBY in da house), David N for late lunch and suggested this place as the Emeryville location is pretty solid. Never a good feeling to suggest a place only for it to be a let down...the guy who took our order was very 'unenthused' and scripted...mentioned it was for dine in and received my burrito wrapped in foil, in a red, plastic basket.. David N asked for utensils (for me) which the guy seemed like 'um okay'... I'm sorry if I'm the type of person who eats her burrito with utensils...unless you're gonna give me more napkins! Which of course, they don't openly offer along with those chips and salsa! Sheesh...the regular steak burrito itself was ok and David's nachos looked promising but that seemed to be an 'A-OK' for him as well. I may try again in the future but not rushing back...prices reasonable but overall, have had better.

Met up with Cheryl M for a casual Sunday lunch. I was feeling like Mexican and ended up here. I'd passed this place up a few times and was happy to try it out. You order off the board and find yourself a seat. It's nice and clean with a few booths and tables. Kinda old school with clear plastic tables covers. A roll of paper towels instead of napkins at each table. The cashier server brings out your food. I had my Steak Nachos made "Super" with dab or guacamole and sour cream. It was okay, not exceptional, but tasty. With hindsight, I should have ordered something else. You have to ask for silverware, napkins, and salsa. There's a sign that says they no longer offer free chip and salsa, but it appears others folks got some. The staff are nice and parking is plentiful.

This place is soooo goood! Best in town. I stumbled on this place months ago and every chance I get I come here. I wish there was a place like this in San José but good thing I go to school near by to get to try this place. And I do sometimes just come up to eat here !! I always order their camarones Rancheros, camarones a la diabla, and their prawn quesadilla! The salads that the plates good are also very good, i like their sauce they put it on! Compliments there dishes. So delicious!! And their shrimps are big and they are not stingy. They always have complimentary chips which is so good with their salsa! Their horchata is always on point and same with their other aguas they have! Service is always nice and friendly!

I come here occasionally for Taco Tuesday and get the Mexico City tacos. They are always hella good and fresh. The ladies in this establishment are nice and were very helpful when explaining the limitations on phone orders. FYI, if it is over $40 they will need to take your payment over the phone. I don't care for this method, so I decided to just come inside and order. The wait was not bad, maybe 10-15 minutes. Back to the tacos, I usually get carne asada. They don't serve fatty/chewy meat which is a great. They garnished with cilantro and onion and on the side it is lime, grilled serrano peppers, grilled pearl onions and radish. Oh and of course chips and salsa!

Overpriced.. No flavor!! No taste!! We're tryin' this place out for the first time.. and we didn't like it...

I love the Emeryville location so when I saw this location on Yelp, I had to make a stop. Let me start by saying they make the best burritos ever! You get to pick your choice of tortilla, I always pick tomato. It's really good. This location has their own private parking, which is nice! My burrito did have some cartilage in a couple of bites and that rubbed me the wrong way, but usually I don't have that problem at these taquerias.

The only think did change is the price but the wouldn't stop me. You know how most places fall off after a while? Not this one. From day one to now, it's been straight consistency. The burrito hits every time no skimping, flavors on point. Honestly, it's more than just food at this point--it's a tradition. Hard to find something that stays this solid for two decades. While the burrito was definitely "super" in size, the proportions were way off. It was heavily packed with rice and beans--which were fine--but they clearly skimped on the carne asada. When you're paying for a premium burrito, you expect the meat to be the star of the show, not a background character. It felt more like a vegetarian burrito with a few guest appearances by the steak. If you're looking for a massive meal and don't mind the filler, this hits the spot, but for those of us looking for a balanced meat-to-rice ratio, this one missed the mark. Hopefully, it was just an off day for the line cook.

Not a lot of taco spots are open late at 10p but I saw that PNT was open. My family and I pulled into the driveway and were confused because it looked and sounded like a bar. There were a few people standing outside and I asked if this was a bar or restaurant and the gentleman said it's a restaurant. We walk in and got some stares because it was late and we had kids. Didn't matter to us. Everything on the menu sounded delish and they had al day breakfast items. We ended up going with the following: 1. Chicken sandwich- 10/10 my teen loved this. It was a crispy thinly sliced chicken breast with all the fixings, and pressed to perfection. 2. Chicken Caesar salad - 10/10 the lettuce was Romain, tossed in Caesar dressing and parm, with grilled chicken filet. 3. 4 tacos de asada - 10/10 yummy chopped steak, seasoned and grilled to perfection. I'm not sure if the evening chef cooks better or maybe we were starving, but the food was great! Ambience at the time was pretty loud but I figure it's because people hanging out in the bar area. Definitely will be back.

NOT WORTH MY $44 !…read more I got these food items: Asada tacos- 1/2 of the taco meat was just big oily chunks of fat, I spat it out immediately. Rest of it was tolerable to chew. Tortilla was dry and oily. Al Pastor tacos- bland meat with a lingering dry pepper aftertaste that makes the meat taste old. Took one bite and was immediately repulsed. Chips and dip (guac and salsa)- chips are oily and hard to chew. Guac was bland, no garlic or cut tomato. Salsa was a viscous sludge in a small tub, had the same pepper taste as the Al Pastor. Horchata drink- too much cinnamon and saw multiple lidded to go cups of this already made in the fridge behind the register, no expiration dates on them. ALSO PLEASE UPDATE THE PRICES ON YOUR MENU, I was charged $11.95 for the chips and dip but the menu says "house chips and guac $9.50" ... how is salsa $2.45? Only positive thing I would mention is that the free tiny salsa, slice of lime, sliced radish, and pickled jalapeño and carrot was nice of them. Wish the pickled veggies didn't drip vinegar all over the bag (it was wrapped in tin foil). Never been here before and never coming back again.
