That was all well and good, but apparently it's not all that easy to find an authentic Mexican restaurant in Geneva :-( All the food we ordered tasted like something that had been frozen in China then shipped to Switzerland and heated for serving in a microwave. Everything totally lacked any of the subtle flavors I've often enjoyed when eating in real Mexican restaurants. We've learned our lesson - next time we want a change of pace while dining in Geneva, perhaps we'll see about some Italian food.

On top of that, this is Geneva Switzerland, which is not known for any sort of good food at fair prices. Even so, I was amazed how UN-Mexican this food was. I should have taken a clue when we walked by the kitchen and the ENTIRE staff was Middle Eastern. First the good news -- it tasted reasonably well. No complaints actually (except for the chips - but more on that later) Tortilla chips were not very good at all. I'm not even sure they had corn in them. Thickest chips I've ever had. Instead of bearing any sort of yellow color, they were brown. Not sure if they were over cooked, made from some brown European corn strain or just some fried pita quartered to look like chips. Bottom line -- avoid the chips. Yuck. Salsa isn't much better. Not sure what it was, actually. I asked for some 'hot sauce" on the side, so I could jazz the salsa up a bit and they brought out Jalapenos. I was actually impressed they had jalapenos! If you're looking for cheap eats in Geneva, you don't have a lot of choices. Sure, go to Manana. It's really not awful. Glad I went, but just DON'T EXPECT MEXICAN!

We arrived at 9pm on a Thursday and a table was immediately created to suit our needs. The food was better than many Mexican restaurants in the US and the service was perfect. It's not the cheapest restaurant in town but the food and atmosphere are worth every penny. If you're looking for Mexican food in Europe or even anything besides central European food this is hands down the place to go. P.S. the margaritas are amazing!

When we entered we were transported to Mexico and spent an evening there. The ambiance, decoration and welcome is fantastic. For aperitif Our party of 4 tried the AY sour and another off the menu cocktail with tequila which were both excellent! The Guacamole was also worth ordering as you could make out all the ingredients. We ordered octopus and scallops for entree but the scallop carpaccio was our favourite entree with a spicy coriander sauce so good that I could have ordered a small bowl of. We followed with the mushroom dish, meat and the 6 hour cooked lamb which was my favourite so tender it was like cutting through butter and then came the chocolate cake dessert, like no other in town. I can't fault it, attentive service who remembered what I had when I wanted my first cocktail again and very attentive. We had so much fun and look forward to returning the next time we're in town.

I can't believe I found it on accident…read more I stumbled upon Taquería Los Cuñados in search of another restaurant, which ended up being far more expensive than advertised and therefore out of my budget. I was starving and decided to walk into the first restaurant I saw with reasonable prices, and this was it. And I'm so glad it was! Prices here are extremely reasonable considering it's the only authentic-ish Mexican place I've found in Geneva. It's about 6-7 CHF for one taco or quesadilla; I usually need two to feel full & satisfied, but 12-14 CHF for a meal is still super reasonable in my opinion. The food is amazing. I always get the elotes tacos, but my friends have had many more menu items and all of them have been super delicious. The service is also wonderful. I've already returned here many times and will definitely come back again. I highly recommend!
