    Carne Asada Fries

This place is such a hidden gem! The food is authentic and delicious, tastes just like homemade meal. The service is warm and welcoming, you can tell they really care about their customers. It's definitely worth checking oit

the chilaquiles here are really good! they had a good crunch and weren't soggy, the chips are freshly fried so they are really good in the chilaquiles as well as when they bring them with the pico before the food. the salsa had a good flavor and was a good level of spice but if you can't handle spice maybe go for the red ones because that sauce was less spicy and had a mildly sweet taste. the horchata latte was also good, although i would prefer it slightly sweeter but it was really good! the lechera pancakes were also really good, although i wish i ate them sooner than i did because i think the strawberries would have tasted better when they were still cold instead of warmed up by the pancakes. the woman serving us was extremely kind and checked in on us a few times, not overbearing but enough to make sure we had what we needed. the restaurant itself is not too big so it's easy to get a hold of someone if needed.

    ENCHILADAS ROJAS ESTILO JALISCO
    M M.

I had a chicken ENCHILADAS ROJAS ESTILO JALISCO as take out. I wasn't used to enchiladas without sauce. It looked like four red tacos (folded tortillas) with chicken. I wanted to love it but I couldn't avoid the hard rubbery pieces of cartilage which I had to embarrasingly unpretenciously remove with each bite while I was eating with friends. I immediately regretted not picking another filling other than the chicken. The rice was odd in appearance where I couldn't really make out the grain. It almost looked like a roughly mashed potato and I wondered if this was a type of Mexican couscous? The shredded lettuce and tomatoes seemed to have been soaked from sitting in water. I'm so grateful that it was carefully packed and separate from the enchiladas, otherwise the food would be water logged. But with the cartilage and the water dreched salad, it just wasn't pleasant to eat any part of the dish. I understand the food is supposed to be authentic and probably from a certain region of Mexico that I might not be used to, so I accept the unfamiliarity in the food style. It's a friendly family owned business. I know they rececently opened, so there's room for improvement. I don't doubt they will eventually "get" it. I would give them another try and maybe order another dish that didn't contain chicken cartilage. All the best blessings as you improve your business.

    Flautas

This was our first time here and the food was amazing! Flautas were 10/10. Super delicious. Tacos de asada were great and sope was HUGE! Very affordable and clean establishment. Had a cucumber lemonade and it was so refreshing, not too sweet! Definitely our new go to spot for Mexican food.

    El Alambre - Steak fajitas

Went out to eat with my hubby and decided to visit this new restaurant in Belmont-Cragin. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The temperature was perfect, not too cold. Everything looked new and clean We shared a dish called El Alambre which was fajitas cooked with bacon and topped with cheese. So flavorful and enough for both of us. We will definitely be back!

Great place! Fresh Pico served with the chips and salsas. LOVED the chips!! I decided to get the carne asada fries because I used to get them back in AZ but don't really see them around Chicago. They were super tasty and really hit the spot. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and has a nice vibe. All the staff was super friendly, we will definitely be back.

    Asada Fries - amazing appetizer!

One of the best Mexican restaurants in Chicago. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious. I try something new every time I go, including their tacos, burritos, sopes, and chilaquiles. Everything has been perfect and I recommend this restaurant to everyone. Truly authentic Mexican food. The restaurant is also beautiful and all the paintings were made by a family friend which I thought was a great fun fact! The service is also amazing and I feel so welcomed as soon as I open the door. Seriously try it out!

OMG this place is amazing. The food was incredible and now we are regulars. They are hella friendly and always greeted us with a smile. I highly recommend specially over the burrito king chain next door. The carne asada plate is my favorite.

The place is small with a hard time to walk around when it's full. It's a nice bar restaurant and didn't realized until we were leaving that there's a back area. The bartenders could be a little more social and happy bc that seem a bit dull and unhappy working there. Unlike Martin he was happy. Mildred was our server and she did phenomenal. We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. One of those dinners where you leave already talking about when you're coming back If you're looking for the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, date night, tacos & margaritas, or honestly just an incredible dinner in general... this is IT

When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Try this little gem--you won't regret it.

Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options. Would actually go 4.5 stars based on those 2 factors, but gave the benefit of the extra half star due to how good our service was and the excellent flavor of the veggie sandwich.
