Being a little mom and pop shop you'd think the Mexican food here would be good. Honestly, this food is so so. The other taco place down the street is far superior ( I won't mention the name, there are only two taco spots within a mile of each other in Walnut. Hint, its next to subway). I've had their carne asada and pastor tacos, as well as their asada and pastor quesadillas. They were very very average tasting. Being from the Los Angeles area, you get some damn good Mexican food down there, seeing this little shop had my hopes up but I was pretty let down. Don't get me wrong, would I eat here again? Sure, if I hadn't discovered the other taco spot down the street. Is this good Mexican food? It's so so. I know everyone comes here for their .89 cent tacos, but their soup selection is stellar. There's probably half a chicken in my soup, enough for two meals, and I'm a hungry boy too. Depends on who is cooking. If it's the older gentleman preparing the food, he is top notch. Everything he has made me to this day has been deliciously perfect. If it's the short dude, nah. He's garbage. When I ordered a chorizo burrito the last time and this dude made it, it was scrapped burnt stuff from the grill. I had to throw it away. It was inedible. I ordered a house burrito. Rice, beans, carne asada, cilantro and onions, pico de gallo, sour cream, lettuce. Yum, right? No. What I got was, hardly any rice, barely beans, no meat, no cilantro or onions, a pile of plain tomatos, no sour cream and no lettuce. .sigh. You know why I ordered it this way because the first time I did the older gentleman made it and I ate the whole thing in one sitting. It was so delicious. My boyfriend hated the 3 tacos of al pastor. Dry tortillas, dry meat, no chile but what looked like two handfuls of onions with no cilantro. The girl behind the counter is no better. I'm not your friend. I swear all she hears is guacamole. I go there maybe once every 2/3 weeks and I have to tell her "No. No guacamole!" and she repeats "with guacamole." If it's the younger guy, another top notch employee. He's super nice and attentive. I've been coming here for over 4 years now, is it worth coming, yes, especially on taco Tuesday's. I'll post pictures of how much meat they put in each taco which most times isn't the most generous portion but it does do the job. 89 cents a taco is perfect for the portion but to pay more than that on weekdays is a rarity for me. Their cocido is AMAZING, that I can rave about, $7, but it does come with rice and tortillas too! I think they need to add more veggies to the portions but overall great soup! Call ahead and make sure they have it and question how soon they made it because I've caught the end of a batch and you can tell the taste lacked and was a little stale. Customer service use to be TOP NOTCH, I use to love the girls and recently it hasn't been the greatest visit. They've changed everyone. I think especially a small restaurant like this it makes a difference when their customer service is on point and for that I deducted 2 stars. The Asada fries aren't worth getting so don't bother. I'll post a picture of them so you understand what I'm talking about. Love this place I first heard of this place when my ex and I were together back in 2012-2016. And now after 3 years later I'm back and it's better than ever that's fersuree. I don't know who the "Amigos" (friends) are at this restaurant, but they definitely don't make you feel like you're one of them. I stopped in with a friend on a Saturday morning about 9:00 a.m. We approached the counter and a seemingly uninterested, possibly annoyed, cashier. After taking our orders, he asked if we wanted anything to drink. My buddy ordered a coffee and I asked for a cup of water (seeing as it was 9:00 a.m., and I'd already had about 4 cups of coffee in me). To my surprise, I was told I couldn't get water because the restaurant was "all out of water cups". Now, contrary to popular belief, there is no legal requirement to serve a customer "free water". I get that. Does it make for a good business practice? Probably not, as exemplified in this review. For those of you who drink your water with tons of sugary substances combined with them, this place does have one of those cool beverage machines which allows you to choose a bunch of different drinks from one machine. I ordered the chorizo and egg plate for breakfast which came with the chorizo and eggs, beans, rice and choice of tortillas (flour or corn). The beans had a slight "bean" flavor, while the rice and eggs had none. This really shocked me, as chorizo usually can add a real kick of flavor to something like eggs. I really thought the food was, overall, flavorless. I'm certain, based on some of the reviews I've read here on Yelp and due to its close proximity to Cal Poly, that this place stays in business from hungry college students looking for a bite to eat. If this place had to rely on bold, authentic Mexican flavored dishes and friendly customer service, it wouldn't last. read more

This little hole in the wall spot is something worth visiting when you're within the Walnut/Diamond bar area. I discovered this place through yelp, of course, and gave it a try. Yooooo. Those tacos. So bomb dot com. They're fresh, the meat is juicy, and the sauce is to die for. The customer service at this spot is very casual but for the most part they're really friendly. I've only ever been here for the Tuesday 89-cent taco tuesdays, and I've only ever ordered their 89-cent tacos. Based on value, I must say that this is the best taco joint in the Inland Empire area that I've been to. My favorites are the al pastor and the carne asada; I've tasted better tacos elsewhere, but not for 89 cents! For each taco, they make sure to pile on whatever meat you ordered, as well as a bunch of onions and cilantro. Personally, I'm not a fan of onions and cilantro, but I'm ok with the taste of them on these tacos! How does this place not have an awesome rating?!? I'm obsessed with Los Amigo's. This place has the coolest vibe. I love the dining area along with the clean cool modern decor. Beyond the look of the place, the food is really outstanding. I've never had a thing I haven't liked - or honestly loved. Such as the steak tacos and chicken tacos. There's a parking lot dedicated to the restaurant. If that's full (though it usually isn't) there is always street parking in the back and a rear lot as well. I'm a fan of the chips and salsa, as well as their fajitas as well as their cheese enchilada - which is loaded with super hot, incredible cheese and covered in a very tasty red sauce. I can tell you, however, that it's awesome. Also, the drinks are incredibly priced. That's a refreshing change compared to most LA restaurants. Also, an extra thumbs up for the awesome son and father owners....they look alike. Accept for the fact the son does not wear braces any longer, but dad does. I saw this place on yelp and showed it to my hubby and he said we should give it a try since the photos look "tasty". Customer service is really great. I definitely want to speak with the manager of this place. Prices are good. It's a little run down. And the tacos are good, but today, they wouldn't answer the phone. They close at 10 pm. And they pretended to be closed by not picking up their phone, and it was barely 9:35 pm when I called. I've gone there later near closing and there's still people there ORDERING at 10:00 pm.. and I've even ordered around 9:57 and they still served me. When I came in around 9:50 pm, all the workers were hiding in the back and the neon signs were turned off. And when I asked if they were still open, they hesitated at first before saying that they were closed. This was at 9:50 pm... By the location and look outside, I honestly wasn't expecting much. Mexican food around these parts is usually pretty lacking; not a King Taco for miles, and Taco Factory and El Taco Nazo went downhill after they went corporate. Surprisingly though, the food was actually pretty damn good. Ordered the carne asada wet burrito and a fish taco (they seem like more of a seafood place). Fish taco was good, but the wet burrito was surprisingly delicious. Their salsa is unusually tasty, without the weird powdery heavy in your stomach feeling that you get with salsas that color (almost orange-red). The guacamole salsa that covered the other half of the burrito was also damn good. Overall, the food had a very "clean" taste to it that you don't expect to find in a hole in the wall type of place like this. It tastes like what high class nice restaurant mexican food SHOULD taste like. The food honestly outclasses the location and tastes like something you would be paying 3 times the amount for at a hotel with an ocean view. Seriously, it's that good...and I don't even usually like this type of burrito (more of a no-rice carne asada with red sauce king taco type of guy). I have no idea why it's still empty there (I was there at around noon on a Sunday with maybe 2 other tables), I think people are not aware it's a new spot (there was another spot here 3 months ago). I was looking for a good Taco Tues spot so I came on yelp two hours ago and found some good reviews for this place. 89 cent tacos doesn't seem like you could go wrong right? I ordered 4 carne asada tacos which came out pretty quickly and were decent. Not bad but not the best I've had. I ordered a cheese and chorizo empanada which I was really looking forward to.. I'd give it a 1 star! :( the chorizo was barely edible, it has a weird flavor and reminded me of school lunch mush from elementary school. Seriously. I tried an order of asada fries and they were ok. Probably the best of everything I ordered. I also had a potato and egg burrito for my 4 year old which was decent. How can you really mess up potatoes and eggs though? Their red sauce has a good spice to it but the flavor is AWFUL. Their green sauce has a good flavor but not a bit of spice. Am I supposed to mix them together? There's no happy medium? Upon walking to throw my trash I saw in the corner of the window that they have a C. Ewwww!! Wish I'd seen it before. I've been meaning to try this place for a while & finally got around to it today. It's a bit more ghetto (& stuffy) inside than I was expecting, that is to say a bunch of "out of order" signs on the soda machine & hardly anything in the little fridge they had for bottled drinks, but don't let that fool you, the food itself is excellent. I ordered some chicken tacos & a chorizo, egg & potato burrito to have for breakfast tomorrow. The tacos were fantastic. The chicken is deliciously marinated & simply accompanied by cilantro & onion on corn tortillas. In other words, a Classic, well done. And only 89 cents on Tuesdays. I couldn't resist trying a bit of my breakfast burrito & it was so good I ended up eating half of it. Not a problem though because it's such a healthy portion that the whole thing would be a little much & too heavy first thing in the morning anyway. There's no fresh salsa bar here but they have both red & green pre-packed behind the counter. I recommend them both, w/ the red having a really nice smokiness. All in all, a very successful (& extremely tasty) first encounter w/ Los Amigos. I'll most definitely be back. I would've given them 5 stars but for the kinda shabby state of the place & the fact that I really wanted a Jamaica w/ my order & they didn't seem to have any of that or Horchata. I'm not a big fan of legit Mexican food, but I come here because the coworkers be cravin that taco tuesday. I must have eatin about 100 tacos from there so far (5 tacos per trip). Their tacos are pretty consistent, but there will be a day where the pastor is a bit on the drier side. The pastor is usually all I get, but last week, I tried the chorizo.. I'm not 100% certain I know what chorizo is, but to me, it tasted like pork flavored chili. It was decent, but I think I'll stick with the pastor. The portion is rather good, especially for a "taco tuesday". It doesn't seem like they are skimping on the meats. I tried the carne asada / al pastor / carnita / pollo / shrimp / fish TACOS. Carne asada was by far the best. Meat was very flavorful and was not too dry. Al pastor is not bad as well but wasn't as good as the carne asada. I would not order the carnitas or fish again and would recommend to try the shrimp taco once. would definitely come back and is definitely worth 0.89 cents. This is a usual lunch spot for us. They take credit card, even AMEX! The restaurant has booths inside for eating though we usually take out. We like the Asada, tripas, lengua, birra and pastor to go with burritos, tortas and tacos. There is also Asada fries with cheese for $3 which is a good portion/side that is not so large you need to eat it with a team. They also have 2.99 breakfast burritos and .89 taco Tuesdays! I've been coming to this restaurant for a long time. today I wanted to buy the build your own burrito or the "LA Burrito". I really just wanted a beans rice cheese cilantro burrito. I ended up adding fries. Mind you they don't have prices online. I called the order in like I usually do. when I show up the total for a burrito with those contents came out to 15 $ and change. I couldn't believe it. The employee justified it by saying the burrito is double wrapped. biggest mistake. the burrito was a mess. fell apart. plus it wasn't made with all the items I asked for. I paid for it because I wanted to support. like I said I had been coming here for years. I ended up throwing half of it away because it was too much of a mess. my overall experience today was terrible. the employee didn't offer an apology or a solution to fix the issue.
