I had brought my students to compete at the SkillsUSA State competition in Ontario, Ca. On the evening known as 'Social Event' night the skillsUSA organizers invited all 4000 plus contestants to enjoy food trucks of Chick-Fil-A, In and Out, and a Softy Ice Cream. I was waiting in line. Behind me was a teacher (I'll refer to her as Betsy but that's not her real name) and she teaches in the Bay Area. In front of me were two students from Los Alisos Middle School. There must have been over 100 people in front of us waiting for the ice cream. Deep within me, I had told myself that none of these food trucks were worth the wait. My students were waiting at the In-and-Out Line and I didn't really want any food. Rather, ice cream sounded good. Well the two little middle boys decided to allow a friend to cut in front of us. I didn't like that, but I let it go. Then the one friend grew into two, then three, then 4. Before I knew it over 7 students made their way in front of us, irking both me and Betsy. We told the students that it was not fair and not right to allow so many students to cut in front of us. They started giving us attitude, telling us to 'grow up' and 'act like an adult'. They acted like they did nothing wrong. Betsy went to get their teacher and the teacher replied, 'well it's their competition and they should do what they want'. I was aghast. I expected the middle school brats to say immature nonsensical things, but the teacher? I could not believe what I heard! Betsy and I were shocked beyond belief that a teacher, who was supposed to be a role model, would lower herself to such immaturity. Betsy and I just sucked it up and just waited. If it were my students, I would have pulled them out and forced them to the back of the line. Now I can see why society is going this way and kids have so much disrespect. I also see why their students didn't win anything in any competition. My students took gold. Shame on the teacher! Shame on the school! Glad my kids didn't go there! With schools and teachers like this, our society is in deep trouble! read more

I go to this school and have been attending for 2 years now. I was gonna be nice but it SUCKS. The food always tastes really funky, cold, or just bad. The one good thing about this school is that I met a really awesome person (you know who you are. hi!!) but that's it. There is constant bullying and teasing, which the school claims to "actively work to stop" but it doesn't do anything. This includes, but is not limited to, homophobia, racism, sexism, etc. The students are disrespectful and insufferable. As for the staff, I'm actually scared of like half of the staff team at the school. Except for that one sub i forgot the name of he's pretty cool. Otherwise, the school sucks. The teachers are great, the office is nice, the supervision is bad, they scold you for anything you do.

I hate this school except for some of the teachers most of them are really cool but most of the nice ones are either retired or in a different grade (I miss Mr. McGuire.) The counselors are really nice too. I honestly do not like the supervision they have way too much privilege to use those whistles you could accidentally hit someone or bump into someone and the aids will come at you yelling and blowing that whistle in your face (please give them whistles that aren't loud, every time they use it my ears start ringing.) AND DONT GET ME STARTED WITH THE FOOD. the food here is so bad the only good and healthy thing they serve is the apples and bananas. the food couldnt be worse then it is now. the food always taste funky or nasty,sometimes I gag eating some of the foods. But what's even worse the safety here. literally going into the bathroom isn't even safe. they say they will fix this problem. but the only time they did that was when they fired mr. walhn for sexually abusing some girls. that was literally the only time the school got "safer." And please PLEASE LET US USE OUR PHONES ESPECIALLY DURING EMERGENCYS. Last time there was a lockdown the pe teachers didn't allow us to call our parents because he said there would be too much noise. LIKE IM PRETTY SURE CALLING OUR PARENTS TO ONLY SAY WERE OK ISNT THAT LOUD. Especially during lunch or snack just give us some time to use our phones it's not like we're doing anything bad on something that gives us entertainment. read more

I hate it here. Last year at this school but it's been a horrible 2 years here. Some office staff are really rude. Teachers need to stay in their lane. Some act very indecent. Their was many fights that broke out between guys but when it's between a guy and a girl the staff goes crazy. It's so sad that just because a guy and a girl fight and the girl wins that means that staff have to walk students out of classrooms. The food sometimes it's hella cold and disgusting. I've seen better food in prisons. This is a sad excuse of a "school" or shall I say hell. I've been racially profiled here. My depression has gotten worse due to this school. The time only staff is nice is when you actually have good grades. If you have a gpa less than 2.0 you practically get treated like shit daily. The supervisors are very rude and very passive aggressive and annoying. One time I had a small rip in my pants and I was dress coded and yelled at in the process. My son was bullied so bad there! This is a horrible over crowded school. There are over 1,200 students and the teachers don't really seem to care all that much. I went there to watch my son receive an award and a fight broke out. A group of kids jumped a special needs kid and when I informed the staff that I seen it happen they didn't even bother to take a statement from me. read more

School is okay I guess my daughter likes it so far. But this review is for the ases program only, This program is awful, my daughter hated it. She said "the ladies in charge" (not teachers, tutors, professional) just simple unprofessional ladies, don't do anything but stroll on their phones and laugh at the children inappropriate sexual jokes. What a joke. My daughter told me kids run around like wild animals, no sense of structure and no homework help. So sad that these government founded programs are runned by clown ladies. They don't take our children education serious, it's sad that for a school with the majority of student are under represented they go ahead and put these ladies. Our children education is not a joke and they should not go to work only to stroll on their Instagram while running the ases program. I told the lady my daughter isn't going to attend for these reasons and the didn't even care. I'm going to contact their director or person in charge because this is unacceptable. This place or school is a joke. It's so sad how they treat the people who live In The area who have to send their children here. Came to a very unorganized 7th grade orientation and temperature inside was well above 90 degrees. The orientation for 6 th graders is running late u have no one who can direct parents and on top of it have them like hot sardines. This shows that they have no regard for the community because this is NORWALK so yes we can treat our parents and students less then they deserve. How do I know? Last year went to an orientation in a different city(not hispanic population ) and wow the school catered to the comforts and was well organized. So sad! Not to mention there is no school counselor here and even though your child has been accepted to avid they will not accept due to a waiting list. Wow unacceptable read more

Great middle school so far. The principal and PTA staff are very active and pro-student here. They all have the students' best interest at heart. Great After-school program, as well (ASES Academy). Traffic in the morning and afternoon is crazy, so please, please, PLEASE!!! be careful when driving in the area during school hours. Be mindful of the crossing guard and students who cross the street. Also, if you're driving in the parking lot, be mindful that there are two "lanes": a drop-off lane and a thru-traffic lane. read more
