Here is the copy of the receipt I was referring to. I hope his manager sees this and speaks to him about it!

My Mom and I had stopped to have dinner there on May 14th for my birthday at 745p, because the website said it closed at 9p. When we arrived we were told it closed at 730p. We decided to return on May 15th, because the restaurant came highly recommended. We were one of the first customers for the day, ~1pm. We were quickly sat and our server was very attentive. He attempted to up-sell us on everything we chose. We wanted simple guacamole and chips to start and he said "no, no, you must try this" as he pointed to an appetizer which was 4 tostadas with guacomole and shrimp ceviche on top. So we agreed, but we also wanted to try another appetizer. He said "yes, no problem. you get smaller size, together on same plate." I confirmed that it was like a sampler plate of the 2 items. "Si, si" he said. The items came out and were on 2 separate platters, 4 items in each, which were the regular large size of the items. The prices were very reasonable, so we didn't say anything. Next we ordered bottles of water. He said "oh no, special today. Special today, mojito, very good." I said we would take 1 with alcohol and 1 without, because my Mom doesn't drink. "Ok, no problem" he said. We ordered a couple more smaller items to try and everything was very good and very fresh. The reason I did not give 5 stars is because just because we are tourists, he (the server) tried to screw us on the bill. First, he charged us for 2 full appetizers, after telling us they would be smaller sizes and on same platter like sampler. Second, he charged us for 2 Bacardi Rum Mojitos, when I only had one with rum and one virgin one. Third, he wrote on the bill that the total was $75 in US, which included an $18.89-20.80 tip for himself on a $54-56 bill. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! He was attentive, but he was a snake!! He saw me looking at the bill and came over and pointed to the total of 982 pesos and said "total without tip" and then at the 1200 pesos that he HAND WROTE on my copy of bill and said "total with tip." Then he pointed to the total he wrote in US, and said "US dollar ok. This one" and pointed to the $75. That is when I started calculating things on my phone, because 1200 pesos does NOT equal $75. It equals $66.11-68.57(depending on exchange rate used 17.5%-18.1%). That is when I questioned the mojitos and he said "Oh sorry, same same." I figured out the bill to be $54.10-$56.11 US (982/17.5-18.15). Their system figured it out with a 17.5 exchange rate and put the USD total was $56.11 on bottom of receipt. Either way, there was no way I was paying the server another $18-20 for a tip! Honestly, if he did what he said and charged us correctly, I would have easily tipped a $20, because the food and service were that good, but the fact they want to scam a tourist, just because we are a tourist, is WRONG!!. I ended up paying the 982 pesos and tipped him 15% on that which was an additional 147 pesos ($8-8.40-depending on exchange rate used). I then asked to keep the yellow receipt and he said "no no" and tried to grab it. I then said in Spanish, "Can I speak to a manager?" Then he allowed me to take it and said "ok, no problem." So, watch out tourists!! It is great food and I would love to go back, but I was very turned off by how it all ended.

My first stop evertime come to cancun. Airport-rental cat-los aguachiles. Best aguachile and great service. Wish take this place with me to ny

Amazing grilled "Pulpo," a must have.

Except for the fact that they close really early, Los Augachilies has some of the best food in Cancun. The restaurant is located outside the Hotel Zone but very easy to get to by bus and taxi. Los Aguachilies is known for their fish tacos and Ceviche, there grilled Pulpo (Octopus) is out of this world. They also have English menus.

When we planned a return trip to Cancun, Navíos was at the top of our list!…read more As always, the service was impeccable. Alberto took great care of us. The weather was beautiful, so we were able to sit outdoors. I ordered the coconut shrimp, and it came out in a coconut shell! That meal has lived rent free in my mind ever sense. I tried a bite of my mom's meal and husband's meal, and both were absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were generous.

I'm impressed!!!! Don't miss the experience of dining in Navíos. Everything is sooooo good…read more This Navíos is just a 10-minute walk from Westin Resort... but that 10-minute is worth every steps! The service is superb from receptionist to the waiters. You can tell that the waiters love what they're doing and all help each other. This place is by the lagoon so every table is a picture-taking location. But be careful of the crocodilo... of course, it's by the lagoon. The place itself is clean.. and the lagoon is clear water too. Now the food... it's as simple as, I can dine in this place everyday! It's not that expensive but the presentation, the service and the taste is like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. Even the drinks! I ordered their clam chowder (you can see in the attached video on how they served it), lobster tail wrapped with bacon, my hubby ordered salad (which was also excellent presentation), and steak. Let's not forget the chips that is on the house with 3 different taste buds sauces... tamarind (sweet), avocado (salty) and chipotle (spicy). Love love love! I should say, your visit in Cancun is not complete without visiting this excellent restaurant!

It's huge, as far as presentation it's not very fancy, it was tasty but as large as it was you'd think it had more alcohol to offset the size. But it did not. My wife ordered the aguachile with octopus. I ordered the Tuna Burger, and we got the steak quesadillas as an appetizer. My wife said she would give her aguachile a 3.8 out of 5. I thought the tuna burger was very tasty. Basically they took a tuna steak and put it between a hamburger bun. I can't really compare it to a regular meat burger. But on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7. It came only with lettuce and tomato, but it had flavor enough. The quesadilla's were good, but nothing special, I'd say they were comparable to any you get at an average Mexican restaurant in the states. We came here because of the high ratings. Maybe we ordered the wrong things to try, I thought everything was good, but nothing that was so good it made me want to hurry back.

The menu is simple with just enough options to where everyone can find something they like. I had the skirt steak tacos and my friend got fish tacos, We also ordered a frozen margarita and mojito that were huge!!!!! The prices were fair for what you get and the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. The music is not too loud so you can have a conversation with your group. They are not pushy to get you in and out like other places. Will definitely be back
