Stunning experience yesterday at Los Abanicos for lunch! So good we are returning today! And we will pace ourselves better for the large portions. Started with oysters and pil pil shrimp. Entrees: Rabbit stew, beef Wellington, lamb shoulder, lamb chop. Potatoes and mint sauce that accompanied were memorable too. Finished with egg custard dessert and mango ice cream. Every bite divine! Loved this place. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Servers were fantastic and food was great. I was surprised at the portion size, really big. We ate such good things, the baby squid was outstanding, plus John Dory in a tarragon sauce and sea bass...all delicious. It came with sides but who knew and we ordered the baby squid and cod fritters so we had entirely too much food but enjoyed every bite. read more

We own a house in the area and every time we go there, we have to visit this restaurant at least twice. It doesn't disappoint! The food the staff the prices, the atmosphere, the menu... It's too good to be true! The only thing you need to watch out for when eating here is that portions are gigantic & they serve so much yummy stuff before the food comes as well. One of the best restaurants we've ever been too! In a beautiful little town about 15 minutes drive from the A7. A very welcoming team, delicious freshly baked welcome breads served when you sit down. Attentive service, perfectly cooked and seasoned main courses served with probably the best baked potato dish we've ever eaten - on the house! A cosy dining room, great vibe and MORE than worth a visit. We're going again before we head home, absolutely excellent and thoroughly recommend it. read more

Los Abanicos is in a favorite of the local community of Benahavís and the surrounding seaside mountain villages near Marabella, Costa del Sol. The quality of the service and the food is terrific. Came here last night. I love Benhavis, which is a lovely old hamlet with twisty side streets where cars turn up in these narrow cobbled roads when you least expect them! Restaurant tables spill out on to the pavements everywhere and there are bars tucked into corners. There's been a lot of development here in the last few years, and the mix of old and new is very appealing. Arrive early and explore. I love the drive here from Puerto Banus where we usually stay, with its deep lush valleys and soaring mountains. Restaurants come and go in Benhavis. Los Abanicos is the best of all these places, and there are a lot of them. It is advisable to book even though it's a large restaurant with tables inside and out. We were served with stiff bread and lovely puffy olive bread with pate to start, and then I had the calamari which was good. The other half raved about the avocado prawns. The children had spaghetti bolognese and grilled chicken, both of which went down very well. I had a beautifully cooked sole meunière with perfectly judged vegetables. The seasoning was absolutely right. Apparently the fillet steak was a bit overdone. I then had nougat ice cream which was gorgeous and more than I should have had of my children's chocolate brownies. These were less popular with them because of the nuts; I thought they were wonderful. The service is top, the food is great. I'll be back here for many more meals. It's a solid four stars. read more

During our recent stay at Marriott's Playa Andaluza in Estepona, we were given a recommendation to have dinner at Los Abanicos. We are forever grateful for that recommendation because it was one of the most memorable meals we've ever had. Traveling with my Mom, my husband and I had a goal of enjoying traditional food in a non-touristy restaurant ... and we were successful. We savored every bite. The fish cooked in salt was incredible as was the succulent pig. The lemon cake is a don't miss. The quality and service is impeccable. Don't miss this opporunity!!! read more
