Easily rattled? Yeah, well, don't come here...
We stumbled upon this joint while looking for another place around the corner, which just so happened to be closed. The music was pumping, a curtain over the door hid the dark interior and there were a few seats at the bar so we decided to dive in.
The drinks are cheap! How cheap? Cheap enough to buy the entire bar a shot of tequila for $25.00. I have no idea how many shots were actually poured/consumed but a $25.00 peace offering in a less than savory part of town was well worth it.
The beer was ice cold and affordable, but the highlight of this bar has to be the jukebox and its eclectic selection. It has the size of an old manual juke, but it's loaded with a laundry list of digital albums. We heard, Slayer, NKOTB, Toto, ACDC, Iron Maiden, Bad Religion, Morrissey (of course)... the hits just kept coming!
Food? Nah, not here. When the drunk guy from Mexico City offers to bring you some carne asada from his house around the corner, that's your queue to leave. Fun times had by all and we'll certainly be back for a few ice cold 32s and some 80s hair metal sometime really soon... sooner than later. read more
