"Nice Bed & Breakfast in St Andrews"…read more Stayed here for 2 nights and was satisfied. Owner lady is very nice and accommodating, as well as quick to reply to my e-mail queries ahead of time. Room was clean and comfortable- especially liked the comfortable bed. Came with free wifi (a little bit dodgy from the room itself, but worked well even with Skype from lobby area) and a breakfast (I uploaded the menu as a picture). Private bathroom in my room, though I think some other rooms may have had a shared hallway bath. Cable TV included. Cost was moderate at 65 pounds a night for my room (with one double-bed). It's nested in a row of other guest houses on the same street, so although I don't know how it compares with the others, I was satisfied and would happily return. If you're coming for golf or to visit the university, give it a try!

The breakfast is delicious, they clean everything spotless every day, they make sure you get to know the other guests and make friends and they will even sit down with you and help you lan and negotiate the crazy Scottish roads. It is located very conveniently across from St. Salvator's church of St. Andrews University. A 5 minute walk to the Old Course and 2 minutes to the cathedral and castle ruins. The whole town is in walking distance. The "small double" actually has a queen size bed so don't be misled. There is also free wifi. We will definitely be staying with them in the future!!

There was an envelope with what was supposed to be my name written on the front that had the key and a Starbucks card. My name was spelled wrong and if housekeeping hadn't been there to help, I'm not sure I would have known it was for me. I thought the Starbucks card was a nice touch until I went down for breakfast in the morning and there was a sign that there was no breakfast and the Starbucks card was in lieu. They can't help staff shortages, so I can't hold that against them. But Starbucks?? Really?? There isn't a local cafe they could have supported that would provide actual food? The room itself (Room 4) was on the top floor and had been half refurbished. So some of the amenities were nice, mostly in the bathroom, but the carpet and skylight (see photo) were nasty. The bed was pretty soft and lumpy, but I know beds are a personal preference. Because I was walking along the coast of Scotland, I had a baggage service for each of my transfers. There was no one around to let the service in during the late afternoon, so my bag was left in the unlocked foyer (that is also about the luggage service, so they get half the blame). Seems like someone should be around until at least 5pm, but that's just my opinion. Then again, no one was around in the morning to let the baggage transfer service in to pick up my bag (front door was locked), so I had to call the baggage company and ask for help. They ended up handling it well. But it was just so strange that no staff was around. I guess maybe that was the staff shortage that also resulted in no breakfast. I'm a pretty easy going person and will give people the benefit of the doubt most of the time. But I stayed in a different inn each night of my travels and this one, comparatively, was the worst experience of all. In fact, it was the only bad experience and the only non- 4 or 5 star review I would give. I would not recommend staying here until they upgrade the rooms, particularly the mold. I'm sure they're doing their best with staff shortages and that's not as much in their control. But better communication would have saved me a lot of stress, especially around my baggage.

Very short walk to both the Old Course, and the town centre. Easy access to all the tourist attractions of St Andrews. Limited parking in the surrounding streets.

It is in an historic building, which has been restored and is clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. Add to that an amazing array of breakfast choices. We sampled everything from the rhubarb and berry compote, fresh yogurt and fruit to the traditional Scottish bacon, Lorne sausage, black pudding, eggs, potato scone, fried toast, and grilled tomato and mushrooms! We took off a star because the rooms lack a bit of sound proofing, but given all the pluses of this Guest House, we would heartily recommend it.

Hostess Yufei treated us like family, took care of us with every courtesy and anticipation, and went out of her way to accommodate our special needs whenever she could. The breakfasts were consistently good, and the room is as advertised - somewhat small (U S standards), but very comfortable beds, and room/bath always kept clean. Overall a quaint B&B with great golf & beach access for low cost. Highly, highly recommended.
