About 3 months ago, I found myself, a successful photographer, somehow in a bit of a rut. I was in a bit of flux.. meeting with 40 ad agencies in NY, going full fledged pedal to the metal, then getting burnt out and not being able to find the energy or determination to get myself to follow through with the 40 thank you notes. Week in, week out, months would pass and I kept making mental to-do's to follow through but I avoided it like the plague. I felt like, when I am hired by a company, for a particular job, I'm the best, most productive person on the planet, but when the job is complete, and it's time to do the marketing and the work to get more business, I just wasn't able to motivate myself. With Lori, with a great business coach, you have clearly set goals and accountability.. which I very much yearned, it turned out. She jokes, it's almost like "hiring someone to be your boss". Funny, but true!
Without going into too much more detail, all I can say is this: Within seven days of our first meeting, not only were 40 thank you notes written and out the door, but I also accompanied them with a beautiful display of photographs from a recent shoot, and to top that off, I ordered another 50 rounds of thank you's and collections of photos to mail to another 50 existing contacts I'd been meaning to reach out to for years. It was a huge success and Lori was able to create this subtle change in me, that developed a wave of small successes, which created some very big wins.
If you love sitting down with someone amazing, someone with the most incredible positive energy you can imagine, who'll actually offer you a free welcome session, and it's something you think you could utilize then I would say, why not make the call? Who doesn't need a little help in their careers at any given point? I suppose out of fear, for some reason.. well, as I write this recommendation for Lori, I ask you to get over that initial instinct and picture yourself as successful as you could possibly imagine.. this is the person you'll become after meeting with Lori. Making the call to Lori will be a life changing event for you, I hope, as it was for me.
It'll certainly take some self-discipline, but from my standpoint, I feel 100% that I just didn't have the tools to succeed whereas now, I have a whole slew of advice and practices that Lori helps to coach me through each week. She knows creatives, she is in fact one herself, but she's also mastered the art of actually getting things done, in a way that makes getting things done fun!
I told her in a recent coaching session that a pipe dream of mine would be to eventually be represented by an agent. A month later, low and behold, I was signed to a great new agency in town. Anything that you want accomplished is possible.. and what I learned is that it's not just "you have to want it".. it's a lot more than that. You can want something really badly.. but if you don't know how to go about achieving it.. or if you think you do know how, but you keep finding yourself in a situation similar to mine, where what you really want to achieve just isn't happening, please please please do yourself the biggest favor of your life, and call Lori. Make that first appointment. You will thank yourself a million and one times, as will your significant other, and eventually, your kids, if you ever are so lucky to have them.
Lori, I cannot thank you enough. You have changed my career in a way I never thought possible, and the results are sensational. I always look forward to our coaching session, and I always leave feeling empowered and ready to take on the world in new, actually productive ways in which, looking back, I truly had no idea how to ever achieve.
