FoxFix Remodel and Repair

(9 reviews)

I hired FoxFix to repair some seams in the drywall in our condo. I liked Yevhenii (and his wife)…read morevery much when he came out and I felt like they'd do a great job. Indeed, they worked diligently and cleaned up each time they visited. The first round of work, both of them came; the second and third times, just Onya came to and she was super friendly and worked quietly while I worked in the office. I didn't paint the repairs immediately because of a lack of time, but once I did, I was disappointed with how the work turned out. I contacted Yevhenii again and sent him pictures. Communication was great and he came out to look and offered to either refund the money paid and for someone else to do the work or he (and his wife) would try again. I allowed them to come back and Onya worked for hours to redo most of the work. Again, carefully, quietly, and working with my schedule. Yevhenii came to check on things and also wanted to do some of the painting to see how the repairs looked. One area in one of the bathrooms looks pretty good but the kitchen and the other bathroom looks terrible, as evidenced by the pictures. I recontacted Yevhenii and he offered a $200 refund which I accepted. There was the original price of the job and, in consideration of the friendliness that the couple offered and the six visits they made, I felt was worth a $100 tip. In the end, I had drywall dust to clean up throughout the condo on multiple days and the results look amateurish. I'm still not sure why this is so hard to do and do reasonably well. I'm not looking for taj mahal-lile work but the pictures, I think, speak for themselves. I'm sure Yevhenii does great work, as evidenced by other positive reviews and pictures, but this project was a fail.

Yevhenii is a superstar. Had a number of odd jobs around the house - shutters that needed to be…read morere-attached, weather stripping that needed replaced, curtain rods to put up, and a hanging kitchen light that had to move. He came by to do an assessment, gave me a good best guess on how long it'd take, and set up a time to come back. I checked in with my wife to see how he was doing since I was at work, and she was very impressed by how much attention he was paying to little details and how diligent he was at getting things done quickly, but making sure they were done right. He's also a great guy with a great, friendly manner. Struggles a little with some more complicated or oddball English words and phrases, but his English was still very good and we had no trouble talking to each other. Great service, and he's our new go-to handyman.

If you're searching for a contractor with integrity who delivers fast, reliable, and high-quality…read moreservice, your search ends here! After an accident left two large holes in our walls, exposing electrical wiring, I found myself unable to fix it due to an arm injury. With a curious, intellectually disabled son at home, I needed urgent help. I reached out to Nate on a Friday afternoon, and his response was nothing short of amazing! Nate asked for photos of the damage and, soon after, provided me with a quote. But what truly stood out wasn't just how quickly he responded--it was the fact that he immediately made time to come out the very next day, on a Saturday, to take care of the issue. He assured me, "This is the max it will cost, not a penny more," leaving me to decide on the spot. Having worked in the trades myself, specifically in commercial kitchen installation, I know a bit about drywall and pricing. Honestly, I initially thought the estimate seemed a little high, and under normal circumstances, I would've handled the repairs myself. But given my injury and the urgency of the situation with my son, I didn't even bother seeking a second estimate--something I usually do--and quickly agreed. That choice turned out to be one of the best I've made when hiring a contractor. Nate arrived as promised on Saturday and dove right into the job. From the beginning, his professionalism was evident. He was courteous, focused, and clearly took the situation seriously. His skill level was apparent immediately. I've seen my share of drywall work over the years, but Nate's precision and efficiency were on another level. He patched the large 4' x 2' holes with a mastery that spoke to years of experience. But that's not all--Nate didn't just stop at patching and applying the mud. He came back on Sunday to sand and complete the work. By that afternoon, the walls were perfectly prepped for paint. His quick turnaround was incredible. And to top it off, when the final bill came, it was noticeably lower than his original estimate! Nate exceeded all my expectations--not just in the quality of his work, but also in how he handled the pricing. In a field where it's easy to feel wary about hiring contractors, Nate renewed my faith in the process. He delivered more than just a repair--he gave me peace of mind. Knowing that my son was safe, and that the work was done with such care, lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. So, if you're considering hiring Nate, let me tell you: believe the nearly 200 glowing reviews. Whether the job is big or small, Nate is the one you want. He's a skilled professional and a person of integrity who truly cares about his clients. I can't recommend him highly enough. Thank you, Nate, for going above and beyond for my family!

Thieves. Liars. His "associate" Bill shows up when they want. His wife sits in her van the whole…read moretime they were here. Does what he wants to do. Promised to start 7 - 8 am - show up at 11 or 12 noon. Telling us they cannot find supplies. Guaranteeing their work is a joke. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!. I am filing charges against them. Work is shoddy; material scraps left all over the place in addition to their cigarette butts everywhere. Job was to take 3 - 5 days actually took 3 - 4 weeks. Days they never showed up and couldn't get the on the phone. Made my neighbor very nervous because he would go over to her yard and started talking to her asking very personal questions. Hired to build steps and a small deck out back after we had taken down our old deck. Also front steps. It was required to start in the back since we did not have any steps to get in & out our back door. Bill decided to start out front. After I told them to stop in front and start in back, he ignored us and continued on. Would leave to pick up something and never come back for 2 days leaving trash and tools everywhere. Mr. Steigerwalt would come by and apologize and and promise to make things right but Bill wouldn't do what was asked. Can't wait to see them in court!!!!!!! The Berkoski's Linglestown

Sam Steigerwalt is a THIEF. I'm being quite generous providing him "1star". I had a bathroom…read moreremodeled and signed a contract. Part of that contract was for painting. His painter did not complete the job and he really didn't seem to care, however, when we sat down to go over the last installment, he advised me that because the ceiling in a very small bathroom was painted too that it was an additional $100.00. Please be advised that he NEVER mentioned this to me until we sat down to complete the final transaction. The more disturbing part of this transaction was when he took supplies back to Home Depot (we could not use them and had to replace only a bathroom fan that was the incorrect size) and provided a credit on my credit card to the tune of $228.00. He explains that he had to get the right supplies, however, when I asked for the receipt for those new supplies purchased he could not produce it. His explanation..."I don't keep very good track of receipts. I don't have it". Funny - he couldn't find the receipt for the correct supplies that he supposedly "purchased" but he had the slip for the $228.00 that I owed him????. I also came to find out from Home Depot that 2 lights that ended up not being used (I changed the lighting) were released to Mr. Steigerwalt, however, I never received them???This man talks a good game and claims to be quite the Christian. More like a wolf in sheep's clothing! I am most angry with myself for writing the check. He said he would locate the receipt. I have called several times and left a voice mail. As of this date, he has not returned any of my calls. The next time that I see him will be in front of a District Magistrate. It is no longer about the money, it's about the principal that he thinks it's ok to treat his customers in such an unprofessional manner. I don't want this to happen to someone else.I will say that the construction personnel did a great job and I would definitely hire them individually, but the boss is a disgrace! DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN!!!
