We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. There were eight of us on motorcycle. It was moderately busy but cleared it out quite soon. We sat outside and ordered drinks and food. The drinks came fairly fast, but the food took an hour and 45 minutes. Not once were we apologize to or even given an update. After one hour we ask how long and they told us it was on the grill to which it could not have been because it was 45 minutes later. Everyone ordered some sort of a burger with fries, everyone's fries came out cold. This was a very disappointing experience, which did not have to be. Note to the staff, just keep your customers updated, and a lot of this could be avoided. read more

Visiting from the Twin Cities and staying in Cable and thoroughly enjoyed the food here and the service! Our server and line cook/chef (wish I knew their names) were so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was definitely laidback and unpretentious but the food we had was very elevated and in my opinion not typical "bar food". Will be back again! read more

Loon Saloon is a MUST STOP every time we are in the area. The food is exquisite, drinks cold (I highly reccomend trying the loon juice on tap!) and always with superb service. They have a bait and tackle store, gift shop area, and accessible by boat, car, utv, anything! I L-O-V-E the Loon Saloon! Maybe it's the name that originally lured me here last summer, despite an hour drive from Hayward in the middle of a monsoon rainstorm. Or maybe it's their Bloody Mary's or their Cheddar Nuggets. Or the view of Lake Namakagon could be a possibility as well. Whatever the reason, whenever we're heading up north, the Loon Saloon is a must. The bar is cozy, with plenty of seating, and the bar itself is attached to a convenience store. So after having a few cold ones, one could certainly walk across the room into the c-store and grab some bait for fishing, souvenirs, or some more cold brews. I picked up a pair of pink sweats for sleeping and an awesome pink hoodie. I also have both a bottle and can coozie for my beers. 'Cause ya know, one can never have too many coozies! Back to the bar. There are some games and pool cues, but I didn't see a pool table when we were there. I do remember seeing one last summer, though. The menu is pretty limited; build-your-own pizzas and burgers, apps, panini's, and salads. Nothing fancy, just grub to fill your belly so you can get back outdoors. It does the job, but is delicious too. Their Cheddar Nuggets are fabulous. I mean, who DOESN'T like deep fried cheese curds? You get a choice of seven different dipping sauces, but we stuck with good ol' ranch dressing. The Bloody Mary's are well made, garnished with green olive, pickle spear, and a pepperoni stick. You also receive a side car beer with it. If you're in the area, definitely stop by and check out Loon Saloon. The laid back atmosphere, beer selection, and friendly bartenders certainly make it an enjoyable experience. I look forward to visiting next summer, hopefully more than once. read more

After a couple of evenings at the Bierstube, I was ready for a change of pace. We went to the nearby Loon Saloon, which also includes a convenience store. The saloon itself is done in light wood paneling and has a rustic feel. There are poker machines, TVs and a juke box. The view of the lake is nice and relaxing. When we arrived on a Monday in late summer, there were only two other customers at the bar, however the bartender told us they had been packed with a line out the door a few days earlier. They did not carry any draft beers, but have a decent selection of bottle beer to choose from. We ordered a pizza, which they put together with a prepared crust, then loaded it with toppings including big chunks of sausage and plenty of sauce. Tasty! We ate lunch here on Thursday 10/10/19 during a musky fishing tournament on the lake. Service seemed short handed but my cheeseburger was the best that I had up there. Very conveniently located if you're a fisherman. Good was good, a little pricey for what you get but I noticed this at all the businesses on the lake. read more

Great pizza, lousy service. We ordered 4 pizzas to feed the 4 families at the cabin and asked for our total on the phone so we'd know how much cash to bring when we picked them up. We Arrived and the price had gone from $67 to $84, because they only added up the cost of three of the pizzas not four. I said that it wasn't my problem that they quoted the wrong price, and I was basically told that they were not going to give me a pizza for free. I couldn't go home with nothing because I had four families waiting for dinner, but I would've liked to. What happened to keeping your customers happy? It would have cost you $4, maybe $5 to keep us happy, but now you've got an unhappy customer who is giving you a nasty review here, to everyone I know that frequents this area, and, I don't care how good the over - priced pizza is, I'll never spend money there ever again out off principal. read more

One of the few places on the lake that's open seven days a week. They accept credit cards and have an ATM which is nice. Plus they also have a mini convenience store attached. The appetizers are great from the cheese curds to broccoli poppers, but their pizza is not the best... However they always have great selection of beers @ good prices and a fun atmosphere. Been coming to the Loon for years on family vacations. Always enjoy their food and beer selection. It's just your standard bar food but it's always delicious and order is correct. Love their bloody Mary's. My family eats here multiple times when we're at the lake. The convenience store is a lifesaver too! This year I rented a stand up paddle board from them for a week. Rental was super easy and they offered to drop it off at our resort (but we had a boat to haul it so we declined). Appreciated the waterproof bag that came with it - was able to take my phone out and catch some pics of wildlife on my paddle board adventures. This place has a little something for everyone. Family friendly, happy hour friendly, heck, any time is a good time to stop by the Loon! read more

Visited the Loon for the first time. Love the backwoods decor. The staff was great/very attentive. Ordered the pulled pork burger with pepper jack. Also had cheese curds (when in Wisconsin you know!). Everything was very hot and perfectly prepared. The BBQ pulled pork was awesome and the curds were perfect. Went there Monday night after calling at 100am that day asking for reservations .Was told they did not take reservation.but since it was Monday we would have no trouble getting a table. Got there at 600pm the place was full we had 14 people .The staff did not seem to care we were there and had to find are own seating . We sat down after 15 min. and then had to go the bar and ask for service from the bartender and he took are order for drinks. We wait 20. min more for are drinks. and then had to go to the bar and ask about are beverages they forgot about us. we then had to serve are own drinks at the table. A waiter final came over 15 min later and gave us menus he then came back 15 minutes later. And told us only pizza because they were to busy to serve any other menu items .Got up and left went to the SAW MILL they were busy but we serve in 15 minutes and had are food 20 min, later what great service .
