The employees are very friendly, and they really go out of their ways to show you where things are etc. they even have a man's cave. That is cute because it contains everything you need to fix the house. You need a fan? Go to the man cave room number 2. Anyway, I do believe is a fun place to go and you find good things at a bargain. Sometimes, Is better to buy used than new

I am not a fan of furniture shopping and decorating. I know what I like, but to put it together…read moremyself is exhausting. We purchased a second home in Northern WI and the thought of decorating it made me almost dread the purchase. All of that changed yesterday when my husband and I met with Laura at Roughing It. She took the time to understand our style and was cognizant of our price point. Within two hours we purchased multiple furniture pieces and matching accessories that were spot on. She had an opinion, but wasn't opinionated. She also helped us with picking out the right tile and counter tops at a store a few miles away. We had been to three other furniture stores prior and after two hours always left frustrated and even more confused as to what to purchase. Beat shopping experience of all time:)

"Lisa" worked with us and was perhaps one of the best sales persons I have ever worked with. Understanding our concerns with viewing furniture "in the store" she arranged to come 30 miles away to our home. She came promptly at 9am the next day with a gift of homemade bread. After less then an hour she called the store and arranged for an entire truck full of furniture to be delivered from the showroom that afternoon. By 3pm two men were bringing in rooms full of furniture for us to view in place. During the day talking and waiting for the delivery, I had opportunities to ask a lot of questions... The store is apparently owned by 2 brothers who enjoy hunting and outdoor life. I understand that "Lisa" and other sales persons work on salary. The NO pressure sales approach is wonderful. Not sure we could get better service!

When I discovered this gem I was beyond delighted and they didn't disappoint me in the least! The individual rooms in which to wander are made magical as the shelves are marked using old Scrabble tiles. This is because the owners are super-dooper creative. As well as knowledgeable and hospitable. And funny. They share their sweet dog Coda with each guest and to this date she hasn't tinkled on a single customers shoe! However I think the owners should teach her to do that for the few shoplifters that have sullied the place. The kids room is amazing and each child that finds the secret room is transported to a magical place all their own. As a member of the senior crowd I'm VERY grateful for the neatest, most creative bathroom in the entire town! My first visit there it was the FIRST room I needed to find. As I sat there meditating to the sound of the clapping of one hand I just KNEW I was in for a treat with the rest of the store and I sure was! Besides the great selection of books (which I think are priced almost too low) you can find a few collectible/antique offerings as well as other goodies like snacks and greeting cards. Take the kids and wander in. I promise you won't be disappointed. But be prepared...they are located right next door to McDonald's.
