Portion sizes are good. Heaps of chilli, sour cream and cheese were served over my bratwurst and brioche. I'm not a good pork eater, but their 100% meet dog, made with a beef and pork mix, was tender, delicious and made on site with locally sourced meats. It's all locally sourced or made on-site in fact, even down the veggie hotdog. The beer selection is wide, bottles from all sorts of craft breweries (large and small), and the brother/owner who served me was hopeful to get some of the really local beers in soon. The chilled atmosphere meant I ended up chatting not only with the owners, but other customers as we ate, and I must say it was a great experience. 10/10

Best hog dog in London? You bet!…read more I have sampled a Big Apple hot dog on a couple of occasions and if different locations, but the most memorable was at Grillstock in Bristol. I was there for the weekend, so on the Saturday I treated myself to a 'Huge Pole' a succulent 8 inch beef & pork dog sausage seasoned with sage, mace and cayenne peppe, a real mouth fall, really delicious! Then on the Sunday we were back, my mate Dave was chatting away to the owner Abiye and the topic food challenges came up, then Abiye laid down the challenge, some guy had done a double 'Huge Pole' but someone needed to take it up a notch, yep, that guy was me. The Triple Pole: The deal was I had to fit a everything in my gob and have a bite, then I had to finish the beast and If I completed the challenge, the 'Triple Pole' would be on Abiye. Guess what? I demolished it with ease, and the main reason was the standard of those sausages, so tasty I manged three of the buggers and that's why Big Apple Hot Dogs is the best hot dog in London.

Hotdogs are street food and should be eaten on the street after having drunk more than you should have been allowed. Sauces and condiments should be added and spilled liberally on expensive trainers. It's the law. AND the hotdogs are very very good. If you're looking for the traditional hotdog- the Big Frank is the epitome. It's exactly what you want. If not, go for the the Big Dog. It's a polish sausage of impressive stature. Not down with pig? Get the 100% beef dogs. You know you want to. I have to stop here because I feel slightly uncomfortable. I keep wanting to describe things, but all I keep coming up with words like Huge and Succulent and in conjunction with various terms for sausage, it's a bit... um.. suggestive. We ordered the chilli cheese fries which was seasoned and topped with minced beef covered in cheese and green chilli. They had an interesting "mar-grrr-eat-her" slush cocktail, but unfortunately, they had ran out of the lemon and lime slush, so I tried the local ale instead. You place your orders on tick box forms, and then give them back to the waiting staff. There's loads to chose from with out being over whelmed. Basically you chose your meat (or veggie burger) there's about 8 options inc lamb, chicken etc. then an extra filling, 2 sauces and a side all for around £8, bargain! Food was delivered to the table within 10 minutes, I would highly recommend the 6oz beef burger, grilled bacon and blue cheese with a side of fries, yummy!!!! My friend had the 6oz beef, Cheddar and onion rings which look equally delicious and somewhat mouth watering! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the service was faultless. I really like the decor, clean, crisp and modern with no gimmicks which is a refreshing change to some other burger places around. They have an out side decked sitting area at the front, which considering this place is on a bustling high street really catches your eye and quiet inviting. Great for couples and small groups, I probably wouldn't want to take a big group of rowdy friends, apart from anything else they probably wouldn't fit many in.
