It had been years since we had taken a vacuum cleaner here, but ours was not working even after cleaning the two filters we were aware of. He removed a canister filter slightly further into the unit and said it was causing most of the problem. The replacement was $20 and he had one on hand. He also gave us a couple more tips on how to improve performance, and since we no longer have carpet in the house, he showed us a canister vacuum for when we are ready to replace ours. It is designed for bare floors and was a reasonable price. But we weren't ready for that yet, so we are going to get more use out of our now rejuvenated old one and replace it at a later date. I feel safe in saying that you will always be treated fairly here and he will save you money when he can. I suppose I should give a pandemic update as well for those who care. This is a very small store, but not busy. So he doesn't wear a mask or encourage them, though he has a small air purifier on hand. He stated he doesn't know anyone who has gotten COVID but knows three people who have died of the flu, so if you feel the pandemic is overrated, you will find a sympathetic ear. Also ordered parts and vacuum bags none of the large chain stores had that I didnt have the knowledge to order online or the patience to talk to someone in India or China & wait 3 wks for them to send me the wrong part?! I do not regret calling Longwood Vacuum one bit. Our Dyson was acting up and both gentlemen I spoke with over the course of a couple phone calls helped me diagnose the issue at home. I ultimately did bring the unit in and it was able to be fixed at a reasonable price while I waited, making the 45min trip to Eustis completely worth it. These guys are part of a dying breed of one-off shops who specialize in doing something very well. With todays' disposable electronics being the norm, it's refreshing to have experts around who can fix things so that they last. i actually went there to repair my sewing machine, and my friends sewing machine. there aren't too many places these days that repair things, but i repair things, and i have my belongings repaired. it's a lifestyle. i called longwood vacuum for help with a belt that i thought was too short. well, come to find out that it was the correct belt. they know what they're talking about. so i replaced the belt myself and put it together, and it runs great, except that i couldn't get the top of the roller belt assembly to correctly fit together with the bottom; there's a noticeable gap where there shouldn't be a gap. it would have been worth it to let them service my unit, except for the unfortunate fact that their store is so far away from where i live read more

I took my Bissell steamer to have it fix which was still under warranty. Shawn took his time check the cleaner to make sure everything was working properly, and gave me a fair and honest evaluation.
