Longwell Green is an area of East Bristol which has a group of business parks. Although not shiny and new, it is a useful set of stores all in one place for those of us this side of the city.
First up there is a large Asda, which is next to a site called Aspects Park - this holds a swimming pool, Vue cinema and the ubiquitous Frankie & Benny/Chiquitos add-ons to these sort of things.
Just up from that is a retail park with a new, large Marks & Spencer, Outfit, New Look, Next, Boots, Clarks, Clinton Cards, Carphone Warehouse and River Island.
And then again opposite that is a DIY park with large B&Q, Jollyes, pet food store, Comet, Tile Flair, Wickes and Homebase.
Of course you can drive here, but it is also easily accessible from the Ring Road cycle path (route 16) - it is very well signposted when it has to wiggle through the houses, splits off to get to the entertainment area and then you cycle through Asda to get to the M&S and DIY areas. Each area has a good amount of cycle racks which are not really used. read more
