I like the equipment selection, spacing and availability. I also really like the parking - it's close by and you can see the parking lot as you work out, which is helpful for safety. During the 2020 COVID shutdown they stopped auto-billing, and after reopening they were very fair about resuming charges and applying funds plus a bonus. I have a Genesis fitness trainer that I see 2x per week for the past few years, and the trainer has been an excellent coach that helps me push hard while avoiding injury. My one issue with this club is that the flooring always looks terribly dirty. Make sure to use a mat if you are going to do anything on the floor! Otherwise it's the best club

I knew at my 4th class I was going to join Orange Theory (Leawood). In Leawood you had to wear a mask between stations, but I loved it. I found Lee's Summit Orange Theory and knocked off 20 minutes driving time. In Lee's Summit you mask up the entire hour. I now attend 2-3 times a week, containing my races on the weekends. My Jean size has gone down 1 or 2, and my bragging about going to Orange Theory has increased. I'm sure the coaches know the words I utter under my mask by looking at my eye expressions. I'm sure I'm stronger. I love the coaches in Lee's Summit, and the managers. It's a beautiful facility and lots of fun. Though sometimes it seems like an obstacle course instead of HIIT tread/rower/weights. The coaches make it fun. Honestly it's one of the best things I could've done for myself. It's hard and sometimes I get to my car and sit, but it's fun and worth it.

I joined because their prices were so incredibly cheap. If I remember, it was $24 a month. All of the treadmills have personal TV screens so you can watch a show to pass the time. It was never busy during the times I chose to work out, so I always had a good pick of machines. The bathrooms and locker areas were always cleaned and well-stocked. I had to drop my membership due to personal reasons, but if I were to ever join a gym again, ROC Fitness would be my first choice!

I've decided from past experiences, I wanted one where I could easily freeze my membership due to work travel. I wanted a gym in my area, that was less than 10 minutes away....well, I found it. I received in the mail, a flyer saying the membership fee of $29 was waived in January for Roc fitness. I chose today to go and check it out. It's a small gym, with a small equipped weight room. The weight room has set of circuit machines for upper and lower body. There's cardio machines upstairs. There's also a 14 lap walking track. They have shower rooms with lockers. Overall, it's a pretty nice place. Great price, too: $22 a month. There's a $5 locker fee if you decided to get a permanent locker, and they charge a one time fee for the usb key to program a workout. I like that idea, and am going to do that. The classes change per season. I am interested in the adagio class, and the zumba classes. The staff were very helpful, and they arrange for an orientation, after you join. There's a cafe with, from what I've heard, the best French fries in Raytown. I suppose the gym is supposed to counter act the calories in the French fries? . Edit: This place grows on you. When it was time to move on, I put in my 30 days notice (Which by the way, they make it very hard to cancel because you have to get in contact with the manager, which she took over a week to get back to me, before you can even start your thirty day notice), yet when the 30 days were up, they continued to charge me and the manager refused to return my calls. I had to show up to a time she taught just to get any communication. I then had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Suprise, Suprise, the company then sent the exit contract but conveniently left out the page stipulating the date that I was no longer contractually obligated to pay. I had to then send the full contract to my credit card company, and then it was final resolved. This took me three months to get resolved. The manager switched every few months which is the real problem (I had at least four mangers over my time). It's a shame because the coaches are very nice. I would not recommend this experience and will not be returning to any f45 again.

July 6 my wife and I were working out at the Deerbrook Club. Walked over to a cable machine to use…read moreas nobody was on it and someone behind me said they were using it. I turned around and said I was sorry but didn't see her using it and she told me she was supersetting that machine with another and using both machines. I told her that supersetting wasn't allowed because she was tying up 2 machines. She told me I was wrong and who told me that. I told her the club manager told me that and she said he was wrong and did I know who she was. I told her I didn't care who she was, everyone has to go by the same rules. She told me she was a district manager and how I didnt know gym etiquette ect. she ranted about WHO she was and how I was wrong ect. I went over to the counter and got another staff member and told him what was going on and he walked over to talk to her. When it was all said and done she LET me use the cable machine and did her stuff on the other machine, all the while mouthing she didn't have to and how I needed to learn gym etiquette ect... I dont know her name but she is a black woman and told me SHE was a district manager. My wife was there with me thru it all and commented how unprofessional she acted. I sent Genesis a emai two different times and had no reply. Genesis advertises accountability and community and evidently Genesis hold their employees to NO accountability for their actions. She is the ONLY staff person at ANY health club in any of the health clubs I have worked out in the past 50 years to act like that. She has no mentality or temperament to hold the position she has dealing with the public and should be reprimanded, wrote up, re trained or something if Genesis held their employees accountable for their actions.
