My favorite lobster roll in Louisville, we barely have any. This older gentleman named Philip drive this food truck primarily around three spots, by norton hospital on chestnut, by UofL on Preston or on Bardstown rd. His location can be found on his Facebook page, be careful he has an older inactive page. The service is very friendly, when i told him I've been craving the lobster roll not knowing where his food was, he offered me a free drink and said hope you like it and see you next time. For the food, i suggest you get the combo which is $3 more than the roll. The combo includes includes a lobster roll chilled (traditional) or warm with butter, (Connecticut) and a choice of clam chowder or lobster bisque soup and two made in heaven biscuits and that's coming from a non biscuit foodie. What a super nice guy and what a great idea Longshot Lobsta is. For $4, the lobster bisque with 2 lobster cheddar biscuits is really tough to beat. The biscuits are good enough to get full off of. If he sold a dozen of them, I'd be tempted to buy them if I weren't watching my carb intake. The bisque was very tasty. Very strong lobster flavor, which makes sense and is what you want. It was thick enough for a solid snack/light lunch. Unless you really wanted to try it, I wouldn't chase this food truck down. But if it happens to be in your area, hit it up. Food truck outside of Humana building downtown Louisville: I'm a lobster roll conesueir. We try them all over the country, specifically, East coast fans. So, I'm tough. This lobster roll was great. I ordered traditional, a little Mayo, a little celery and seasonings. It had a great fresh flavor and the bun was just right with a wedge of lemon. I would have liked the lobster to be a little less minced, with bigger chunks, but it was plentiful. At a $15.00 per roll it's a bit over the $13- $14 I'm used to paying for some of the best, but, I paid without blinking and eye...so...there you go! My advice...GO EAT a lobsta roll!!! I've been in love with the idea of lobster rolls for a while. But considering Kentucky is a bit far from any coast, it's been rather difficult to find this seafood sandwich of awesome. Until now. One of Louisville's newest food trucks, Longshot Lobsta, specializes in these amazing rolls, and I couldn't be happier. I got to try another one of their rolls tonight, and it left me in a happy place. The lobster salad -- kind of like chicken salad -- has the right proportion of lobster to mayonnaise. The mayonnaise doesn't overwhelm the lobster, which you can clearly taste. The hotdog-type bun is not a throw-away part of the sandwich. It's soft but still adequately holds the lobster in. And if you get a lobster roll you HAVE TO get one of their cheddar bay biscuits. I dare say they're the best cheddar biscuits I've ever had -- and yes I've had my share from Red Lobster. Another plus for this truck is their speediness. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get my order -- no standing around and waiting 15 minutes like with some other trucks. I immediately smiled when I saw the Longshot Lobsta truck at the event I attended tonight, and I doubt that that feeling will wane after hopefully many repeat visits. read more

I knew we were going to the market, but once i read that Longshot Lobsta was in attendance, i no longer cared that a market even existed. The only reason i was going now was to get some lobsta!! Unfortunately I don't work downtown where a lot of the food trucks tend to congregate, but I do work right across from Park Community which has Food Truck Wednesdays (thank goodness!!). Longshot Lobsta is super delicious! I always get the Main Lobster Roll and it's perfectly proportioned - right amount of lobster to everything else on your yummy, toasty bun. While it is $10 which is a little pricey, you can add soup and a Chedder Bay Biscuit for only two more dollars!!! Why would you not do this?! I got their clam chowder which was a teeny bit lacking in the clam department, but still super delicious. And let me tell you about this biscuit, super delicious amount of flavor, flaky and hot and buttery, wow now I'm drooling on my keyboard. I can't wait until they come back and I can get some more!! I went to the second Friday food truck festival thing at phoenix hill last night. It was pretty cool. The lobster roll I felt like was smaller than before. I got the clam chowder this time instead of the bisque and I was very disappointed. The most disappointing thing was, the person preparing the food did not wear gloves and was touching the bun, the cheddar biscuit, and money by hand. It was very unsanitary. Knowing how dirty cash money can be, i was somewhat in horror. They really need to start wearing gloves, using tongs, or having someone else handle money while the other prepares food. The other person who was working there was sitting outside the truck with his friend and wasn't in the truck at the time I was served. Knowing how people can get diseases like hepatitis A from unsanitary food, I hope this place changes their ways because their lobster rolls are really good. read more

If you like lobster/seafood, then this is a must have. I saw them from inside the Humana building and I had to try it out. I am so happy that I did. I ordered the combo, which comes with a traditional roll and your choice of soup and a roll. The roll was excellently seasoned and cooked. I got the lobster bisque as my soup, and it was so good. I was stuffed but I couldn't stop eating. I'm not sure how it compares to the east coast, but for Louisville, it's top notch. Well worth the price ($18 for the combo). Me and a couple of friends stopped by this truck one day, owner friendly, lobster roll incredible. Cooking lobster there is a fine line between raw and over cooked and he hit it perfectly. I grew up in Maine and used to cook between 1 and 100 pounds of lobster 6 days a week. This is definately a more roll, the more you eat the more you want to eat. I tried Lukes Loster (NYC), Da Lobsta(Chicago), Lobster Joint (Brooklyn) and all of them left me with something to be desired. I came upon this place accidentally, but I'm so glad I did. I'm sure there's SOMEWHERE in this city you can get a lobster roll, but I haven't run into it. The lobster roll I'm used to is what Longshot calls the Main Lobster Roll. I used to make these from scratch with seriously cheap, muddy-tasting lobster meat that needed the spices to cover up the flavor. Longshot is DEFINITELY much better tasting, with fresh, clean lobster, tangy sauce, and fresh vegetables. They toast their buns until they're nice and warm, contrasting with the cold salad. Their soups are fantastic as well. I thought the lobster bisque was SLIGHTLY too salty, but the clam chowder was creamy and thick. The cheddar biscuits could have been the best I ever tried, but the bottoms were ever so slightly overdone. Their prices are reasonable, but a bit much for an everyday lunch. I will definitely be back, especially since they come to East End on Wednesdays. I really want to try their warm butter style! read more

Lobster roll is great, but the lobster bisque is to die for! So rich, creamy and tasty! The serving is small but it's perfect because it is really rich. I visited them twice during Forecastle. The first day was because I saw the reviews before on Yelp and had to try them and the second day was because I was craving what I had the first day. Rejoice! Lobster has finally hit Louisville and it is good! My boyfriend and I were fortunate enough to be able to try Longshot Lobsta at this weekend's Tailspin Ale Fest. I was hoping that they would be there as this is a truck I've been wanting to try. My boyfriend and I each had the Connecticut Rolls since they're served warm (and it was like -500 outside) and a bowl of the Lobster Chowder. I have only tried one meal from here and as such, cannot fully give it 5 stars or (if needed) bump it down to 3 stars. I hope to run into them again and try the mainstay Lobsta roll. I used to live in San Francisco and lobster rolls were a Fisherman's Wharf staple for tourists but also honestly good at many locations. A good lobster roll was once a holiday dinner for me. And yet, all I tried here was the lobster bisque and the cheddar biscuit. I know, I fail at food sampling!! It was really hot outside but still the bisque still called my name. It was delicious. I am not a huge fan of tomato bisque but this was mainly creamy with hints of tomato and a small amount of lobster (but the flavor was there). The biscuit was buttery and garlicy and cheesy and garlicy. In short, the lobster bisque was really freaking good and even the 90 degree weather didn't diminish my enjoyment of it.
