Although we did not end of purchasing our bed from this Mattress Firm in Avon, I wanted to express…read morethe high customer service marks I would give the sales guy Mike ("Mike with the Hair" to be clear, for there are a few Mikes at this store). From our brief conversation about product on the phone before visiting to the 15 minutes he spent with me and my parents in the store itself on their showroom floor, Mike really is a great personable sales person. Not pushy, knowledgable about product, enthusiastic about beds and generally upbeat. We felt no pressure during our visit. Be it beds or countertops, he is one of those good guys that has sales in his blood. And although we eventually made the purchase of a bed from the Mattress Firm in Terre Haute, I feel the sale actually started with "Mike with the Hair" in Avon and wanted to give him and this location a shout out for his great customer service and friendly and welcoming attitude.

I thought I had ordered a 3 piece bedroom set, which included bed, dresser, and nightstand. Upon delivery the nightstand was missing. In customer service I kept getting the run around - not in the paperwork - when right on the website it specifically says when you order this set a nightstand is included IN THE PAPERWORK. I never received a paper receipt, the manager said it would be emailed, I never got the email. I was never shown an itemized list, he said it would be emailed, I never got the email. Turns out I did not order the "set" only a bed and dresser separately, no nightstand. The salesman claims I said I didn't want the nightstand so he wrote everything up separately. The only thing I ever stated I did not want was the mirror. Based on the showroom floor and the website I assumed I was ordering the set which INCLUDED the nightstand. This could have been cleared up if I had actually been walked through the order AT THE STORE. When writing up the order the salesman forgot to include the mattress, then the railings, etc. Then he wrote everything up separately, total screw up. Total mass confusion and I in good conscience cannot recommend this store. Steer clear. Should be negative stars!

Anyway the 1st one came in and it wouldn't recline, wouldn't lean back and sat crooked. I called the store and the very first words out of their mouth was if I return it, it will be a 25% restocking fee. I said on a damaged chair? Finally he said he would send out service to look at it, sure enough the whole metal frame under the chair was bent. They were going to send me a new frame. I don't pay that sort of money and the chair comes damaged. So I took it back. They so far have kept my deposit since they still are claiming a 25% restocking fee. So when the second matching chair came in which I tried to cancel but they said was already on it's way to their warehouse, I refused it, but they still are keeping my 25% restocking fee. I disputed the charges on my credit card but they are still claiming the 25% restocking fee. So I lost $700.00 due to the damaged chair and their customer service. So I agree with several people on here 'Unless you want a huge headache do not purchase from Godby' because they are pleasant when you go in but better not have any complaints with them. No doubt they fixed the broken chair and sent it to their outlet store and also the matching chair I didn't accept, so they made a lot more money on it than normal, but 700 was mine.

I wasn't happy with their guarantee and answers to my questions so I asked if I could cancel my order. I wasn't to receive my merchandise for several weeks. After a lot of hassle they finally agreed to cancel my order. But they kept claiming they lost a ton of money in my order because it was custom. I ordered 2 XL twin mattresses to be placed on a split king base. These are sold all the time now with split bases and it had only been mere hours since we purchased and the store had been closed. Also, we were "given" a free gift of a quilt, a really "cheap" polyester for a 5 star review. After cancelling the order I'm being charged $80 for that $5 quilt that was to be free. This quilt was never to be part of the purchase. It was to be a gift for posting a good review, which I did. Me, as a customer was not important to them. They ripped me off for that $80. They did not look out for me. I will never again deal with this company again. I should have went with The Purple Mattress which has a 100 night guarantee with full money back. Buyer beware! Also want to say that I felt pressured to buy.

Was difficult to navigate the store myself and then ask questions when I had them. Sales people presenting information quickly and with repetitions where the experience was overwhelming. Yesterday, I was in a pinch and needed a twin size mattress, box spring and bed frame either the same day or next morning. Long story, short my grandpa was being moved to a new room at the assisted living center nearby and needed to downsize his bed. After searching for several hours, sending out several emails, and making several phone calls explaining the situation I only received one call-back. That call-back was from Henry with "BMC Mattress" . Henry went out of his way to help me - he gave me every discount he could find, he ensured that the bed would be delivered that evening, he delivered the bed with his own vehicle, and even offered to put the bed frame together himself! After Henry moved everything into the room for me I got the opportunity to speak with Henry for a few moments and he mentioned that they are new in the area.
