Instead of trying to sell me a system he listened and made his assessment and opinion after first checking out my system, ensuring components were in working order, then advising me to put in a completely different thermostat b/c the one installed was 20 years old, required software updating (which probably had never been executed over the years) and corrected some INCORRECT WIRING ISSUES A PREVIOUS SERVICEMAN from another company completed less than a month earlier. Mike and his partner worked right in front of me educating me with all the answers to my inquiries and actually steering me AWAY from doing additional work at that time telling me the parts I questioned were still in good operating condition and didn't need replaced yet. THAT NEVER HAPPENS! Usually, customers are gouged and met with astronomical new figures to put in new systems when you just might not need one. Both of these servicemen then informed me they desire to build their reputation on good, honest work and NOT taking advantage of customers. INTEGRITY FOLKS, INTEGRITY. The VALUE of their services rendered was very reasonable and didn't kill my pocketbook. Mike did inform me they DO have new systems and prefer to keep the local economy going so they use readily available parts here same day rather than have to order parts that could take two weeks. I am a new client of theirs and this isn't my first nor second rodeo. They have EARNED my future business and I look forward to their return this Spring when it's time to run a servicecheck and maintenance review for the summer hot heat season.

In one instance their tech "Bruce" came to service a unit in a house just purchased and he took the serial number of the unit and called around the area to determine where it had been purchased. A/c not working. Strickland sent out a tech who said there was no Freon in the system. There was a…read moreleak. Then asked if we wanted to add 3 lbs? Of Freon to the system for $240.00. I said hell no why add Freon if there's a leak? They then said that the coils in attic could not be fixed and a replacement could not be found, so the whole system would need replacing. This would run about $10k which we did not have at the time. They did not offer financing so referred us to someone else, who could have cared less if we got financing. My wife was handling the financing because I was at our other house in Arizona taking care of a water leak at the time. Anyway they wanted social security documents, bank statements and such which she gathered. When she contacted them on a Thursday they said they were busy, call back tomorrow. She had been without a/c for 3 weeks now in East Texas in September mid 90's. House was 90* inside. She called Friday, they said it was end of month; call Monday! A relative gave her the money for the install and they ordered the system which took a week. It only took a day to install, which was nice. The bad part was the greasy foot prints in the carpet from garage to thermostat and leftover installation materials left lying against the side of the house. I find it hard to believe that a a/c vendor does not offer financing. We own this house outright and have another house worth over 400k in Lake Havasu, Az seems like there should be a way to Finace a a/c unit. I wish we would have shopped around. Dave B.

I was quoted a price to replace a gas line from my lo gas tank to my hot water heater, it was over…read more$3,000! I thought that was excessive, but they said it was because it would take all day, and so paying for the line plus two people to work all day was why it would be so expensive. Well, I thought this was a Christian company, and I had to have it done ( or take cold showers ! Brrr!) so I agreed. The next day, sure enough, two men came out with a ditch digger, and ran over and broke my metal ramp, and finished the job in about two hours! Great, I thought, now it won't cost so much. But, NO! They charged the same price. I called to talk to the business manager, and they said since it was a quote, they don't adjust the price- even though they were done in two hours. I'm looking for a plumber today to do some work- guess which business I am NOT calling!

It was Friday morning and I found water coming up from the ground from my broken underground water…read moreline to my house. I closed the water shut off valve at the water meter, and I no longer had water at my home. I called all the plumbers in the phone book and they all could not arrive to fix my broken pipe for another week. This company was very busy also, but they agreed to fix my pipe the same day. The plumber arrived later that day and a qualified polite man fixed my pipe so I had my water back to my home. He only charged me for the one hour minimum fee, and the small amount for the parts. I was very happy to get my water back.
