I visit every couple of months as an outpatient and have always been treated with courtesy and respect. The hospital has moved location (slightly) but the move was seamless and no loss of patient care or professionalism occured. I have used the hospital for blood tests, x rays and regular ENT checks and have always been treated as a whole personnot just a symptom and they have been equally as good with my 6 year old. This really is the NHS at its best!

I came to him with my mother and told him about horrible pains that would take over my whole day, vomiting and constantly feeling the need to excrete. I remember him pressing down on my abdomen and saying that there was a lump and he scheduled and appointment for me at Broomfields hospital to get an ultrasound, although the doctor at this hospital did not feel a lump and offered me the chance to go home.. me being a niave 10 year old, I jumped at the opportunity to leave the hospital. For a year I was in agonising pain, going from doctor to doctor all saying that it was IBS or constipation, prescribing me Colpamen and other such IBS relieving medication. Roughly a year after my appointment with Teatino I was rushed to hospital to undergo an emergency operation to remove a 12 inch ovarian dermoid cyst, swollen ovary and a twisted fallopian tube. I never properly praised Teatino for taking the right initiative, as he, unlike all other doctors, noticed the signs for my condition at the time. He is the best GP I have ever had.

I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

I went to work though and searched GPs near my office and found these guys. I booked online and was seen super quickly. Apparently they only started here quite recently but it's such a good idea. Yes you have to pay £44 but that's better than not getting seen at all by my NHS GP. Anyone needs to see a doctor go here. The Reception Staff were welcoming and very efficient. The Triage Nurse, who I saw within minutes of my arrival, was also very efficient and kind. The Nurse who dealt with me after a wait of only an hour was superb. She was calm, patient, thorough, totally professional, delightful and in whom I had complete confidence. All absolutely brilliant. It is situated just outside of Whitstable and is easily accessible from the dual carriageway or the centre of town. It is well signposted and is open from 8am - 8pm seven days a week. Me and my partner were recommended to visit this centre following advice from an out of hours surgery phoneline. On arrival it was clear that Estuary View has had a lot of money invested in it's construction. It is in attractive building with adequate parking and easy transport links. It is staffed by Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare assistants who are able to offer limited treatment to patients. As this is a minor injury unit they do not operate at the same level as an A&E department. However they do have the ability to conduct X-Rays. They can also refer you to a doctor at a local hospital (Margate A&E). My partners problem was not able to be treated at this centre but the nurses contacted the specific department in A&E and essentially saved us a long wait as the doctors knew we were coming. I believe that if more money was invested in facilities and staff rather than appearance the centre would most likely take more stress off hospitals than it currently does. Although my partner was not treated there she commented on how polite the staff were and how quickly her issue was dealt with.
