I have been recommended to Harley Street Health Centre by one of my colleagues. So I booked an appointment with Dr Abood. The consult lasted an hour, and included a chat about my symptoms, when they occur, ear & nose check, blood pressure and also had blood taken. Personally, even though I am in my mid 30's,I am really scarred of the needle, but the nurse was amazing. She distracted me by keeping my mind busy chatting, while she was drawing blood. Offered me water & advised to wait for couple of minutes before I leave. The whole experience was 5*. No rushing or looking at you like you are crazy because your palms & sole is itching at night, weirdly enough. So the next day I got my results. It was not as bad as I thought. Iron & Vitamin D deficiency. Something that can be fixed easily. So glad I went to the clinic, as my nose bleeds and itchyness have been haunting me for years. I am now taking my supplements & feeling much better. Will have another blood test done probably in 3-4 months.

I personally had a good look through the NHS choices website, but as most people only bother to review places when they are angry... so it can be scary reading!! It makes it sound like all the doctors in this area are useless with reception staff that have been replaced by trolls - eep! This review is in case other yelpers move to Walthamstow and have a similar difficulty choosing a GP! Addison Road Medical Practice is just around the corner from Walthamstow Village...it is quite a residential area, and there aren't many sign posts nearby, so take a map the first time you attempt to get there! I called ahead to find out the best time to come in and register. I had to fill in quite a few forms...and then needed to set an appointment with a nurse to finish the registration. The Brilliant bits: * I have never been kept waiting for a long time here. There is a sign in screen at the side of the reception. This morning I signed in, and was called to the doctor within 2 minutes...then I was out with a prescription within 10 minutes. * They always keep some appointments free each morning. If you call at 8:30, you can get one pretty easily. The downside of this is that you might need to wait for a non-urgent appointment. * The building seems new-ish and clean * The reception staff are friendly, although have little time to help as they are so busy. * It's NHS, so fixes you up for free (^^) The less-brilliant bits: * You aaaaalways need to hold as the phone line is always busy. * The place seems pretty big, and can be daunting the first time you go here. No-one bothers to instruct you how to get to rooms...so I just wandered around looking at signs until I spot the right consultation room. * There is a board that tells people the doctor is ready to see them...but no announcement. The first time I went there I was not told to sign in/watch the board, so I nearly missed my appointment. * I found my doctor quite unapproachable...He did give me antibiotics for my chesty cough, but his brisk manner made me unwilling to ask him other questions. *sigh*

I dont think its libelous to sugggest he did not qualify at the top of his class at medical school. He is just not up to the job. Scary. Dr Simon Gibeon his partner denied any problems and tried to downplay the serious results. Interestingly no references were taken out when Goldin moved here from Borehamwood Surgery. I wonder why?

I write to say thank you for the firstclass treatment I received at Estuary View on Sunday…read moreafternoon. I had fallen flat on my face and a friend took me to Estuary View Medical Centre. The Reception Staff were welcoming and very efficient. The Triage Nurse, who I saw within minutes of my arrival, was also very efficient and kind. The Nurse who dealt with me after a wait of only an hour was superb. She was calm, patient, thorough, totally professional, delightful and in whom I had complete confidence. All absolutely brilliant. It is situated just outside of Whitstable and is easily accessible from the dual carriageway or the centre of town. It is well signposted and is open from 8am - 8pm seven days a week. Me and my partner were recommended to visit this centre following advice from an out of hours surgery phoneline. On arrival it was clear that Estuary View has had a lot of money invested in it's construction. It is in attractive building with adequate parking and easy transport links. It is staffed by Emergency Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Healthcare assistants who are able to offer limited treatment to patients. As this is a minor injury unit they do not operate at the same level as an A&E department. However they do have the ability to conduct X-Rays. They can also refer you to a doctor at a local hospital (Margate A&E). My partners problem was not able to be treated at this centre but the nurses contacted the specific department in A&E and essentially saved us a long wait as the doctors knew we were coming. I believe that if more money was invested in facilities and staff rather than appearance the centre would most likely take more stress off hospitals than it currently does. Although my partner was not treated there she commented on how polite the staff were and how quickly her issue was dealt with.

GP diagnosis was different from Dr Zhu's diagnosis and proceeded to treat with different treatment. 1st session of acupuncture was at least 75% less pain on leaving the surgery and stopped all the strong pain relief and this has eased further over the last few weeks. Only had about 5% residual pain in the evenings and light analgesic medication. 2nd session after 3 weeks and I can clench my hand again and no tender places on the hand either. Highly recommended.

I visited Dr Zhu's clinic mainly because I had a stomach virus that needed immediate attention, but also to have him examine a recurring pain in my back. Before going to Dr Zhu for treatment I visited my GP with the stomach complaint, the GP was unsure what was exactly wrong with me, but he thought it was perhaps either a bacterial or viral infection. However, the medication he prescribed agitated my stomach and put me through greater pain. A friend suggested I visit Dr Zhu's traditional Chinese medical centre as they had a positive experience in the past. Dr Zhu was able to ease the pain I was feeling in my stomach almost immediately using a combination of Chinese herbal medication and acupuncture. The pain in my lower back was the result of an old work acquired injury from several years ago; the pain gives me difficulty sleeping at night. After the Dr gave me a treatment of acupuncture, cupping, massage and osteopathy; the muscle on my lower back wasn't as tense and I was able to sleep the whole night. I will definitely be going back to Dr Zhu's clinic for follow up treatment. In the future I will go to Dr Zhu for a consultation for general health advice.

I think he is the nicest doctor at this surgery…read more Unfortunately a lot of other patients obviously think the same and it is very very difficult to get an appointment with him. If you telephone on the day the appointments go very quickly and if you try for a future appointment it is usually for at least 3 weeks time! If you are lucky enough to get to see him he does tend to run late on his appointments, sometimes up to 30 minutes but at least it means he does not rush his patients out of his room without listening properly to them. The receptionists are not always friendly (but in my experience doctors' receptionists rarely are!) and will often demand to know what is wrong with you before you are given an appointment.

The pain was gone the next day and everything was back to normal. Since then I've had lots of other work done on my teeth. Kaydie and Amanda are great, Amanda has done lots of work on my teeth and they look great now. The assistants are alright too. I've only ever had positive interactions at this dentists. Relatively painless procedures and it feels like time flies while getting procedures done. All the staff have been friendly including all the receptionists and waiting times have been short.

The reception and waiting areas are really poorly decorated and maintained and do not look at all clean. I was on their books for quite a while and very rarely saw the same dentist twice. There must be a huge turn around of staff at this establishment. Waiting times are poor and the dental treatment I have had, has been far from satisfactory. This may be an NHS dentist but I now pay a little more and have private dentistry that is quality. Avoid this place for the sake of your dental health. Only use if you are in desperate pain and it is your only option.

The facilities are very modern - a hugh widescreen TV when you enter and uber modern coffee machines. The staff are very professional, yet friendly. I was most impressed with my initial consultation - a full review was done including up to the date dental x rays which involve a very hi tech looking machine! I had my teeth whitened here before my wedding and whilst they let the gel set I was given a set of glasses that actually played a film when you put them on! It was a great way to pass the time and I forgot where I was. Obviously, being a private practice, it is expensive. However, you can get Denplan (dental insurance) that works out relatively cheap if you dont have many dental problems. Considering most people find the dentist an intimidating experience, this is the complete opposite here. In addition to this, they value customer loyalty and if you do have lots of cosmetic treatments they will give you a good rate. Make sure you leave time to get there to get a parking space nearby!
