Dr Teatino was the first and only doctor to raise alarm bells about the lump that was situated in my lower andomen when i was 10 years old. I came to him with my mother and told him about horrible pains that would take over my whole day, vomiting and constantly feeling the need to excrete. I remember him pressing down on my abdomen and saying that there was a lump and he scheduled and appointment for me at Broomfields hospital to get an ultrasound, although the doctor at this hospital did not feel a lump and offered me the chance to go home.. me being a niave 10 year old, I jumped at the opportunity to leave the hospital. For a year I was in agonising pain, going from doctor to doctor all saying that it was IBS or constipation, prescribing me Colpamen and other such IBS relieving medication. Roughly a year after my appointment with Teatino I was rushed to hospital to undergo an emergency operation to remove a 12 inch ovarian dermoid cyst, swollen ovary and a twisted fallopian tube. I never properly praised Teatino for taking the right initiative, as he, unlike all other doctors, noticed the signs for my condition at the time. He is the best GP I have ever had. read more
