I can't say enough good things about Longevity Physical Therapy. After sustaining a knee injury during treatment at another PT clinic (while trying to rehab a hamstring injury), I was hesitant--honestly, afraid--to try physical therapy again. I've come here before for my knee replacement rehab. I trusted them so much with my care that I came back but this time for my ankle. I have been placed with Brandon. Brandon is very professional, knowledgeable and funny. He isn't afraid to get in there and manipulate the ankle and hip to make everything come together and work for me. Brandon listens and pays attention. As I get better Brandon isn't afraid to challenge me. I'm always surprised as I can actually do it. He believes in me. I can feel and see myself improving especially when I listen to him. I can also see others (we are schedule right after each other on the same days) also improve. I've seen Brandon at two locations (here in Carlsbad and in La Costa). Both locations are nice and have the equipment you need to get better. I've had several experiences with PT and this is the first time it is has actually benefitted me. I had back surgery in January, and hip replacement in May, plus progressive knee pain, so I was a mess and a total wreck when I first started. Longevity at Bressi Ranch is by far the best experience I've had for Physical Therapy. The front office of Cailin and Kaela make each visit begin on the most positive note! They are always pleasant and welcoming. Both ladies show empathy for the clients as I've experienced myself, as well as observed their kind treatment to others. March, 2022 - Update on Longevity Physical Therapy-Bressi Ranch. Late Sept 2021, I suffered a serious injury, dislocated shoulder and fractured shoulder. Got prescribed to start physical therapy by orthopedic MD. I immediately headed back to Longevity Physical Therapy-Bressi Ranch. I knew Kevin Greer and was very happy when I was last treated by him. It's been 5 months of dedicated physical therapy with both Kevin and Patrick to get the full range of motion and strength back with my right shoulder. I highly, highly recommend Longevity Physical Therapy! The place is always clean. I greatly appreciate the dedicated staff -- Corrie and Lisa, front desk. The individualized attention I got plus the plan to help me get back to normal activities meant a lot to me. There were many times I felt very discouraged and hopeless. Yet, both Patrick and Kevin persisted and were very patient with me -- explaining everything to me. They both helped me achieve my goals with my right shoulder. I don't feel pain now and I really think it's all due to the physical therapy ! Great experience here with good equipment and caring staff. Some characteristics about this PT: It doesn't feel much like an office but more of a gym and the tables are out in the open. Most of the staff are pretty young so if you're looking for very experienced senior PT, I'm not sure if you can find it here. If you're ok with it then this is a place for you. The staff here work very hard to make sure you receive the proper care. When I injured my knee, my PT would massage the area, showed my exercises and put ice pack on me at the end. They also stayed open past 5pm which is a bonus for people who have regular office jobs. The place was very clean and in the women's room they even provided feminine products in case of accidents! There's also a massage therapist on site in a private room. She is amazing and can work wonders on your muscles, ligaments and tendons. I don't have to go to PT anymore but I still come here for the massage! read more

My 11-year-old had a serious injury (fractures to the lower leg that only very narrowly avoided surgical hardware placement). Because he loves his sports and had to be immobile for so long due to injury, we felt getting him properly rehabilitated needed to be a priority. We chose Longevity even though they aren't technically a "pediatric" facility. My son saw JP regularly for several months and we were thrilled with the care he received. JP is also an athlete and really understood the type of rehab my son needed (and which muscle groups and tendons needed the most attention) given the sports he plays. Our goal was met--get the kid back into the physical activities he loves on a safe timeline without suffering injury due to lack of strength/rehab. It was really hard on my son to have to sit out for so long due to his injury, but thanks to JP, we were able to get him going again safely. JP is patient, kind, and was great with my son. He took time to listen as we worked through PT and when my son had aches and pains, he helped us to coordinate with the doctor to figure out what warranted further exploration, what pains were to be expected, and what to target to regain stability and strength. I really appreciated his willingness to help us navigate healing and rebuilding while also validating my son's concerns as he worked through recovery from a pretty traumatic injury. I am an active 75 year old male who had a hip replacement surgery approximately five years ago then recently had to have a hip replacement on my other hip. Shout out to Patrick and Kevin for helping me heal from a bad back sprain in my lumbar area. Kevin had an accurate assessment and diagnosis that was different than the bulging disk situation I initially thought I had. Instead they helped me to improve my core strength without aggravating my injury. Eventually as my core strength improved it brought lasting relief and reduced pressure on my spine, and now I'm back to surfing again. Patrick was very good about setting up exercises that were challenging but appropriate for each phase of the recovery. This place is what PT should be all about. Since then my knee has suffered some setbacks and has caused me to not do any rigorous activities. I saw Kristen as my Physical Therapist for about 4 months for chronic lower back pain. Kristen and the team at Longevity are so friendly, funny and really cared about not only my physical health, but how I was doing personally with every visit, which extended to the aides who guided me through my exercises. I have been to 4 physical therapists in North County San Diego, and none of them even come close to the attention, support, professionalism and friendliness of this staff. Can't say enough! The staff is great - From the receptionist to the therapists. They do a great job evaluating and setting you up on a path to recovery. Recovery can be tough but with a fun and positive environment, the journey isn't as bad. I especially want to thank Ross for initially helping me recover and Casey for finishing the journey. As a pro athlete I was concerned with getting back to full strength, and Casey definitely challenged me and pushed me to get there. Longevity is the best PT experience that I have ever had thanks to Megan Waller and the rest of the team. I ended up having 2 surgeries in '19 that originated from an old shoulder injury and a snapped ligament in my ankle. Ended up spending about 6 months total in PT from both surgeries. When I started I could barely walk to the tables, let alone run. After a few weeks, I was running and doing strength training. My ankles has never been better and I am able to run and live an active life again. Megan also worked on my shoulder after surgery, and now I am back to swimming and surfing multiple times a week, with no pain. -They were good about keeping me on track and pushing me thru self-imposed limits, but were excellent about listening to what was going on with pain levels and movement issues. -Homework was on point and easy to follow. -Facility was spotless with top notch equipment. -Most importantly, dog friendly. Hopefully, I avoid PT for the next few years but if I end up getting banged up again then Longevity will have my business. read more

The staff here are incredible. They genuinely care about your progress and you as a person. I felt welcome every time I walked in and I felt challenged every session, which resulted in a notable increase in strength. They seamlessly work you into other trainers for different exercises, each one just as knowledgeable as the last. Strength training can be repetitive and boring, but they make the experience fun by engaging in conversation, keeping a lighthearted attitude and making you feel like part of the team. Over the past 10 years, I've been to a number of Physical Therapist for my back. When I came to Longevity I could hardly lift my foot to climb the stairs at my house; my pain went from my glute to the piriformis down my legs. The pain had gotten so bad and had lingered for such a long time that I was about to sell our 2-story house to buy a single level house. Kenny is amazing and he has been my therapist and I can't say enough good things about him. He is caring and most importantly he listens...and after my first visit and his manipulations I was able to go up the stairs with not much effort. What I admire with him is the level of attention and the time he spends working on me. He makes sure that I use the proper posture/technique when doing my stretches and exercises. I'd give 10 stars if I could. I broke my tibia and fibula badly in July 2017 and started coming to Longevity the very end of August. I wasn't weight bearing when I showed up, crutching around with a boot on my right leg, my leg and body very atrophied after 7 weeks of immobility. I had been very athletic and in great shape before breaking my leg, so psychologically I wasn't doing that well either. The road to recovery seemed overwhelmingly long. Longevity turned out to be the perfect place for me. Now it has been 2.5 months coming twice a week to Longevity, and I have made so much progress and at a fast rate - I'm walking well and regaining strength and range of motion such that it is very noticeable week to week. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he was quite amazed at my progress - he said my bones were healing way ahead of schedule and that my movement/flexibility were far ahead of what he would expect. My therapy sessions are with Brett, who intuitively knows when to push me and challenge me, and who is sensitive and compassionate in those moments when rehabilitation feels overwhelming and "normal" feels out of reach. Believe me, a good physical therapist really has to understand that recovering from a broken limb has a mental therapy aspect to it as well. And here, they do. Brett is amazing and he has totally earned my trust and confidence as he helps me in my recovery, with great attention to getting me fully functional again. On a few occasions I have seen other therapists there, including Brittney and Kristen, and they are excellent and very skilled and very encouraging. The aides are all friendly and just personally welcoming and interested in how you are doing. It's a very positive and supportive place with progressive individualized care. This location opened up in January 2014, and I've had the honor of seeing it grow this summer as a doctoral student intern here. (That's also why the reviews are mainly from this year.) The thing that sets Longevity PT apart from other outpatient physical therapy clinics is its customer service, which is not only evident in the way the owners, Brett and Jeff, treat their patients, but also in the way they treat their students. The mentorship here has been phenomenal, and I had an opportunity to shadow both of them to get a feel of different teaching styles, so that my learning is more comprehensive -- like Longevity's patient care. The Applied Functional Science (AFS) approach looks at your whole body, and focuses on your *individualized* FUNCTIONAL goals, whether it's getting back to running, or being able to reach back and get dressed without pain. I won't spoil all the surprises, but after 10 minutes of talking with the awesome therapists here, I've noticed many of the patients start to see a difference in the kind of care they provide vs. other PT places. Vanessa at the front desk and all the friendly, knowledgeable PT aides made my rotation here fun and less stressful because everyone was willing to help you, whether it'd be scanning some papers or teaching you a 3D exercise (yes, you read that right...3D exercise). So while this review is not coming from the perspective of a patient, I'm giving you the DL on what it's like to be on "staff" here. It's an awesome feeling to look forward to coming to work every day and not count down the minutes till you're outta there. After 30+ years of playing hard and 11 orthopaedic surgeries I have seen dozens of physical therapists. Most were not so good, some were okay and a couple were far above average. Bret Bloom is far above average and is in fact an amazing physical therapist. He doesn't just go through the motions. He seriously wants to help his patients and he puts in the hands on work to make it happen. From literally pushing me to get full range of motion to watching every rep for correct form, Bret doesn't cut corners. And that mindset is shared from the top down. I have been to other facilities where the PTs walk away and don't monitor you at all while you exercise. That's not the case at Longevity. They really care about their clients and focus on helping us get better. Kevin was my PT and is just outstanding. He is so knowledgeable, professional, and personable. He designed a program with a wide variety of exercises that focused on my areas of concern. At the end of each session, he gave me papers with each exercised described in detail and then he emailed me videos of a person doing the exercises. Both really helped because when I do my exercises at home, I can refer to the paper and the video to ensure that I am doing the exercises correctly. Kevin also recommended some exercise tools that I can use at home, which have been very helpful.
