My conversations have gone nowhere as Maven apparently has an agreement with the company that supplies the materials for any warranty concerns or repairs. The Maven representative was nice enough to contact me back and offer to come out and provide an estimate to repair at my expense at the suggestion if his manager when she also refused to send anyone out. Meanwhile Hide Tide roofing is on their third roof this month in our small neighborhood so word is getting around about Mavens quality and service. In or about July 2021, we purchased our family's forever home with 3 young children, which…read morewas represented as having a brand-new roof installed by Maven Roofing. Within one day of moving into the home, water began leaking into the living room, master bedroom, and master bathroom. These leaks have continued for approximately five years, from July 2021 to the present. We contacted Maven Roofing no fewer than 50 times over a three-year period beginning within weeks of the roof installation. Responses were frequently delayed by days or weeks. Maven representatives repeatedly attributed the problems to other causes (including the chimney) and performed multiple purported "fixes." We incurred thousands of dollars to have the chimney addressed as directed. Despite these efforts, water continues to enter living spaces, and significant mold has developed throughout affected areas of the home while children have been residing in the house, to include a fourth child born at the height of the mold issues. Warranty Denials and Attribution to Craftsmanship Claims submitted under our home insurance and the GAF manufacturer warranty (represented as a 20-year warranty) were denied. The denials stated that the damages were not weather-driven but resulted from poor craftsmanship / installation deficiencies / other issues. These are issues that should have been addressed by the installing contractor, Maven Roofing. Instead, Maven placed blame elsewhere while performing incomplete or ineffective repairs. Current Condition and Damages The roof is only approximately five years old yet has leaked since installation. Water continues to enter living areas, mold continues to accumulate, and other contractors have declined to perform corrective work, citing reluctance to associate their names with a Maven-installed roof of this quality. We now face estimated costs exceeding $30,000+ for mold remediation, drywall repair/replacement, and a full new roof. We have filed a formal complaint with GAF Warranty, as well as doing a Google review of our entire timeline, to which Maven has responded with continued misinformation. The owner/representatives of Maven Roofing have been unprofessional and difficult to deal with in our communications. Financial Strain The ongoing failures have imposed significant financial hardship on our family. In addition to the thousands of dollars already spent on the chimney repair and repeated temporary measures, we are now confronted with more than $25,000 in necessary costs to remediate mold, repair damaged drywall and interior finishes, and replace a roof that is only five years old and has never performed properly. We have had to replace furniture, rugs, and other items inside the home due to water damages and drywall falling from the ceiling. These unanticipated expenses have created substantial strain on our household budget and financial stability. Health Strain from Mold The persistent water intrusion has resulted in ongoing mold growth inside the home, including in living areas occupied by our family, including children. Living with active mold for years has added serious health concerns and stress regarding the air quality and safety of our home environment. Emotional Strain For five years we have lived with the constant presence of water entering our living spaces, the repeated cycle of contacting the contractor, receiving delayed or inadequate responses, and watching temporary "repairs" fail. The uncertainty of never knowing when the next leak will appear, the inability to obtain a lasting resolution, and the difficulty of dealing with the company (including unprofessional conduct by the owner) have caused prolonged emotional distress. There is currently no end in sight, which has taken a heavy toll on our family's sense of security and peace in our own home.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…read more THE GOOD: The owner, Jake, is charming and certainly knows his stuff. He calls and texts you on time, when he says he will. He has two workers from Ohio helping during the aftermath of Hurricane Florence: Robert Sr. and Jr. -- they have awesome work ethic and we trusted them. They came out in an emergency and tarped our 1,344 sq ft roof for $250, using our paid tarp. For every appointment to meet or work, he and/or his workers showed up on time, even early. THE BAD: In the chaos of having a tornado hit our home and being desperate for help, we hired Jake and his company without checking his credentials, to do our mold/water remediation. He said on the phone that he would work with our insurance, and he stated he had much experience in mold remediation. While he does seem like he and his workers know how to tear down moldy/wet walls, Jake did not quote us a price or make a proposal prior to starting the job. In the trauma of the aftermath of the hurricane (a tornado hit our property), we were eager to find a company to start the job quickly and help us mitigate further property damage. We trusted Jake and Matthew Construction. While the first day of three hours and the two hard-working men were more than acceptable to us, it was only at that time that Jake stated his charges are $85 per hour, per man. It didn't strike us as terrible as it is dirty work and the workers clearly worked hard. The trouble started the second day when he brought two more men in from out of town "to make some headway". While we do not dispute that all his men were polite, when we had time to notice (we were very busy moving all of our contents out as Jake told us everything would have to be moved out to not be ruined by mold damage), we saw that the workers often worked in shifts, and sometimes two would simply be gone for extended periods of time. One man, appeared quite clearly intoxicated by medication, drugs and/or alcohol. He slurred his words and could barely walk up our steps and walked very slowly. Even with all this, we trusted Jake would bill us for only bonafide "real man hours". Indeed he did not. We were billed $7,225 labor for 85 hours to rip out 250 sq ft of modular home kitchen and 100 sq ft of front entrance. He pressured us to make credit card payment for the job so that his workers could "get back on the road to their families." We did stupidly pay him, but once we realize we had been price-gouged by virtue of inflated man hours, we disputed the charges with our credit cards. We complained to Jake and he did refund 10 labor hours, or $909. This was not acceptable or fair to us, so we demanded more. THE UGLY: Jake Matthew of Matthew Construction hired a lawyer to tell us to stop harassing him and to threaten us with suits of libel and/or slander if we posted negative comments about him.
