Coming back to The Long Ones was pure nostalgia. It was more about walking down memory lane than anything else. I remember when this spot was it that hood local quick stop everyone knew about. Good prices, good food, and just that real neighborhood vibe. Growing up, it was where everyone went for wings. Now I'm a grown-up ordering wings and beer, and it still hits the same. Some things just never lose their flavor.

Honey hot chicken wings

I've been coming here ever since I moved to Arizona. And this is the only wing spot that I give a solid review to. Each time the wings are super fresh and crispy and so tasteful. It is a little expensive for wings however it's worth it and I find that it's a good treat to myself. The wait is never too long.

A meal I will dream about for a while. Interesting and bold Thai flavors. Great guidance from the owner himself about to order. The best mango salad I've ever had. My cocktail was delicious. Place had a cozy vibe. Wish this existed in Boston where I live.

Burned, blackened potato skins.

Music playing at a reasonable level to allow conversation. We ordered the BBQ pineapple burger and Hatch Chili burger, both rehab size, 10 oz and a side of sweet potato tots. Our server was friendly and helpful, answering questions and providing recommendations. We ordered a couple of Mother Road IPAs to accompany our meal. The beers arrived after a few minutes. Cold and refreshing. The food followed about 10 minutes later. The burgers were juicy and delicious. I ordered mine medium rare and the chef nailed it! The sweet potato tots were fresh tasting, crunchy and a little sweet. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a great burger!

The PB&J burger was disappointing. This is their flagship burger and I didn't think it was very good. You barely taste any PB or J, if at all, and it's just a plain burger with an oozing mess. Would love a stronger PB&J flavor on this one. The inside is fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but I must say our server was fantastic. I'd gladly come back and try other options since a lot of them sounded really good.

Let me start off by saying my first 2 visits were not the best. In fact, This place was sitting on a 3 star rating for a while, but my last visit picked up and made up a little. I waited to wrote this review in hopes that they would redeem themselves from my first 2 visits. The first time I came, I had Lemon Pepper Wings which came to me after a very long wait. When I finally got them, they were basically naked wings, like without any seasoning. I asked for the seasoning and one of the bussers came and brought me a cup of it. I sprinkled the wings with it but when I took a bite, they were SALTY AF!!!!! I then had to shake off all the seasoning to be able to finish them. SMH. I also ordered some Sweet Potato Fries which oddly came to me within about 3 minutes. I almost finished them before I finally got the wings. I was seated at the bar and since it was packed, I sat in the only open seat which happened to be between 2 gentlemen. The guy to my left was ready to go and when he asked for his bill, they had charged him for my stuff. Super weird because we clearly weren't together and I wasn't even talking to him the entire time. He kindly alerted them and they adjusted his bill. My second visit the next day wasn't any better. Went in with 2 coworkers for $1 oysters and Happy Hour. We ordered some cocktails which took forever again, and when we asked about them, we were told they didn't have the blended margaritas ready, so she offered us on the rocks instead. We said okay since we were thirsty on a Thursday. We tasted each other's drink and they tasted exactly the same, even though we ordered different ones. I also ordered a 2nd round of 6 oysters for myself which I never got. I had to let our server know that I never got them, so she took them off the bill. Our server wasn't very friendly and she just looked like she wanted to leave. My 3rd and latest visit is when I had the Tomahawk. My friend and I started off with oysters, then ordered their huge Tomahawk, which came with a variety of sauces and a side of French Fries. This time, we came in a little later, around 730 pm or so. It wasn't as busy, so maybe that's the perfect time to go. Service was great that last time, and our drinks were perfect. Overall, it's a cool place and the decor is pretty gnarly, but I feel like they do need to work out some kinks. Prices are average but Happy Hour is where it's at. The Tomahawk special is $99 on Mondays and Tuesdays I believe, and they come with 2 large sides (we went on a Thursday so we didn't get that special). The last visit brought up my 3 stars to a 4. I'll come again, but I hope they stay consistent!

We did not know what to expect other than having looked at the menu in advance. We had a very good experience there with good food, good service, and an all-around good experience! We would certainly consider returning again in the future (and recommend Hand Cut Chophouse to others). We made a reservation on Open Table and visited on a Saturday evening. We arrived a bit before our reservation and decided to stop by the bar first and enjoyed a cocktail (and a mocktail) before sitting down at our table. There was no wait at the host podium before we were seated at our table. The bartenders, our server, and the managers were great and took the time to get to know us and to answer questions. We ordered a Tempura Zucchini starter, which was fine. I'm not sure I liked the sauce with it, but it felt like a healthy yet breaded starter. Between my wife and I, we ordered a salmon and the Double Smash Burger for our entrees, and we even got a dessert (butter cake) before taking off. We enjoyed each dish though none of the dishes took our breath away. We will likely order and try different dishes on our next visit. Check out the Hand Cup Chophouse website (https://handcutchophouse.com) to get location information, see menus, apply for jobs, make a reservation, order online, make a group private reservation, and check out musical entertainment. You can also go to their website to sign up for the Riot Rewards program and get a heads up on the latest news, invitations to special events, birthday gifts, and e-mail discounts. The restaurant hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11 AM to 9 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM. Happy Hour is weekdays from 3 PM to 6 PM. There is also a Happiest Meal on Wednesdays where for $25, you can choose a burger, fries, and drink. For those looking for where at Fashion Square they are located, it is located on Marshall Way just south of Camelback. They only have the one entrance though you can eat outside the restaurant if you'd prefer outside seating.

A HIDDEN GEM IN A SEA OF OVERPRICED MEDIOCRITY…read more I genuinely do not understand why more people aren't talking about Karsen's Grill. Everything I've eaten here has been fantastic. The salt and pepper wings are TO DIE FOR. The burgers are excellent, the fries are awesome, the onion rings are phenomenal, and the cocktails never disappoint. Seriously, I have yet to order something here that hasn't made me think, Why isn't everyone eating here? And then there's the service. I've had the same servers every time I've visited, and they're consistently wonderful: friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely good at what they do. They know the menu, they can make recommendations, and they make you want to come back. Imagine that! This is a small, unassuming place with about six tables and a bar. It's not trying to be the hottest reservation in Scottsdale. There's no pretentious bullshit, no need to drop $200 on a steak just to tell people you ate somewhere expensive, and no relying on trendy vibes to distract you from mediocre food. And THAT is what I love about this place. Scottsdale has no shortage of restaurants where the prices are astronomical, the atmosphere is carefully curated for Instagram, and somehow the actual food ends up being the least memorable part of the experience. People will wait forever for an overhyped restaurant, pay a fortune for a meal that's just okay, and convince themselves it was amazing because the place was popular. Meanwhile, Karsen's Grill is over here serving food that is genuinely, legitimately GOOD. Give me great food, a well-made cocktail, and staff who actually care about the experience over another overpriced, overhyped dining destination any day of the week. Karsen's is the kind of place you stumble across and immediately want to keep coming back to. If you actually care about what's on your plate more than how much it costs or how impressive the restaurant looks on social media, go to Karsen's Grill. Your wallet will thank you, your taste buds will thank you, and you'll wonder why the hell you ever bothered with some of the other places in Scottsdale. Just please don't let the secret out too much. I still want to get a table.

The staff is friendly and quick to get the food out. It's a really casual spot with a small bar and bar height tables. They do offer outdoor seating when the weather cooperates. The last time I came in, I tried the Sunburst Chicken Bites because I wasn't starving but still wanted sustenance. It was okay, but pretty dry. The sauce helped but it tasted like it was from an old batch as it wasn't hot, either. I'll still come back because it's within walking distance from work and they have a bunch of other things on their menu I want to try. Prices are a bit above average but the portions are pretty generous. Parking in Old Town can be hit ir miss but there's plenty to go around. Check out Karsen's if you're in the area!
