NOT WHAT I ORDERED!
Gigi T.

Ordered my food through the drive through. Ordered the fish with fries combo and then the other order was one piece of fish with six shrimp. Got home and had an order of two pieces of fish with fries and the other order was one three pieces of fish and fries. No receipt in bag. They put cocktail sauce in so they knew what they were supposed to be putting in the bag, shrimp, but did not get that. Googled the phone number. I called several times and nobody answered the phone.

I know it may not be conventional wisdom to think of LJS as a gem of a restaurant, but if you're looking for a way to satisfy your chippy craving without giving your hook of an arm, and peg of a leg to Gordon Ramsay for the basic English codfish experience, this place is a godsend. The service here is fast & friendly, thanks to the oversized kitchen it sports. And the ambiance is bright, peppy (thanks to its Best of The 80s music track), and finger lickin' friendly (thanks to Yum's wisdom of collocating two of its best product lines in one bustling suburban location). It takes a bit to get here from the strip, but it's well worth the trip, especially if that's by bus. And for we LV natives who already have a monthly bus pass in our pockets, it's a no-brainer (just take the 202 west on Flamingo to the 120 south on Fort Apache, and get off just before the corner at Tropicana). As of 14 OCT 2025 a three-piece fish, fries, hushpuppies, and a drink meal is $10.99. That's one-third of the price for the same thing GR would fork over to you with a bit of Cockney thrown in... and that's a BIG entertainment value in my book. This is a craving satisfying place that is well worth its hidden gem status. I hope this helps, and I hope to see you here sometime down the way.

This has to be the only LJS left in Vegas. Haven't had it in maybe 10 years or so. Some of my favorite fish from back in the day. This location isn't near where I live but since I was in the area... Ordered inside to-go. Service was ok. Food was hot and fresh and just as I remembered.

Fish, hush puppies, cole slaw

Pros and cons on this visit. Pros: the fish was hot and delicious. CONS: the reason for the hot fish, is that we had to wait 19 minutes after ordering and reminding the staff that that we were still waiting. There were a lot of people working in the back...apparently there was no management on when to begin a new batch of fish. We ordered 5 pieces of fish and received 4 pieces of fish and one of chicken. The front door handle was beyond filthy. The restaurant was typical for a long john silv ers/KFC. The reason we go there every two months is that it is the only one in Las vegas.

Fish and shrimp platter.

I used to go to LJS back east quite often. Had the urge for it recently but could only find one in the area and it was combined with KFC. I wanted to order the fish and chicken platter but was told they had no LJS chicken available so settled for fish and shrimp. They served me KFC coleslaw but couldn't serve KFC chicken? Pieces of fish were definitely smaller and shrimp close to overcooked. Just another fast food area inside nothing out of the ordinary.

Just drove across town to get my fish taco fix. All LJS signage is gone or covered up. They have no fish at all. Damn waste of time.

My husband and I each ordered a pound of shrimp each but in different preparations. I ordered mine in garlic with 2 corn and one potato with the shrimp peeled without the head. I love my shrimp with the peel and head but I wasn't feeling well and wanted to make the meal easy to eat so I sacrificed a little in the flavor department for convenience. When I opened the bag I was surprised that the potato was huge. I've never had a huge russet potato used in preparation before. I thought I wasn't going to like it but it was actually pretty good. And it was equivalent to at least 3 or 4 potatoes that you usually get in these type of bags. The shrimp , corn , and potatoes were delicious in the super garlicky butter sauce. I dripped a little on my clothes that are ruined forever and I didn't even care because I was enjoying my meal. Oil never washes out so be careful. My husband ordered his shrimp with shell and head in with lemon pepper sauce and two corn and three potatoes. He had a lot of potato! Lol. His was good but not at all what we were expecting. We originally planned to share both styles but his was so spicy that I couldn't eat any of his. We were expecting lemon pepper like the spice we get at the super market or the rub we get on wings. What he got looked like shrimp in molten lava. It was pepper as in super spicy chili pepper sauce with lemon slices. It had a nice flavor but since I ordered it mild I couldn't understand how spicy it came. The shrimp also came peeled with out the heads. Luckily my husband is better with spice than I am. He was able to eat most of it but would have enjoyed it more if it had been milder and had the heads as he ordered it. I can still recommend this restaurant as the flavors are very good and if we had eaten in the restaurant instead of having it delivered then they probably would have remade my husbands meal the way he ordered it for him and I would have been able to give them five stars. Unfortunately as it is I took off a star for missing two order notes. They did a great job packing up for Togo food. They even give you gloves and bibs.

Two of my companions opted for the lunch special of seafood boils. (It would be fun to have each one at the table order a different seafood boil to try! That's how many choices are available!) It hits that perfect sweet spot of bold, flavorful, and just the right amount of kick without being overwhelming. It coats everything beautifully and keeps you reaching for more. Once you try it, you'll understand why we can't stop talking about it! And let's not overlook the drink menu, because Cap't Louis truly delivers on that front as well. The drink options are fantastic and complement the food perfectly. We made seafood boilds with snow crab, scallops, and peeled shrimp. All seafood boils come with sausage, corn, and potatoes. It was so tasty and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp were fine, but the pan roast was so rich and heavy that it became hard to eat after a few bites. It felt more overwhelming than comforting. Dessert didn't help. The cheesecake came out straight from the fridge and was so cold it was firm and difficult to enjoy. Cheesecake should be creamy, not something you have to wrestle with. Service was also very slow since it looked like only one server was trying to take care of the whole floor, which made the wait time drag. Not terrible, but for a place built around indulgent seafood and comfort flavors, the execution and service just didn't land.

We'd requested a booth when making the reservation and were ushered to a very nice corner location with subdued but adequate overhead lighting. Although there were two large groups in the middle of the restaurant and background music was playing, noise levels were not disruptive, probably due to dampening by to the open ceiling. Overall, the vibe was lively and warm. Started with shopska and melitzano salads and purlenka, all of which were excellent. My companion had a half liter of the house red which, while costing less than one glass of wine at most decent restaurants, was quite drinkable and well complimented the food -- wish more restaurants would offer house wines in carafes. I enjoyed sipping the more traditional rakia throughout the meal. My partner had the beef filet kabobs which were a perfect medium as ordered, tender, well seasoned, with good beef flavor. She also enjoyed the accompanying salad which was extremely fresh. I had the mixed grill with which they graciously substituted a lamb chop for the standard pork chop. All the sausage components were very tasty, especially when complimented with dabs of the included lutenitza. Only negative was that the lamb chop was tough, gristly, and fatty -- I should have stuck with the pork chop. Servings were large, we both were unable to finish our entrees, and departed with leftover boxes. Always room for desert, however, and we devoured the delicious biscuit cake. Final impressions; great place with a lively atmosphere, excellent food and drink at very affordable prices with outstanding service. Already looking forward to our next visit.

My family and friends of 50+ people had dinner here to celebrate my nephew big graduation from Dentistry school. For a group this big the servers and cook really kept up with us. We had a huge fish bowl cocktail that my wife guzzle down 2 of them cuz my SIL couldn't finish hers. The steak & pork dish were tender and soft. My wife loved these cuz she has dental issues. We also had boiled potato with herbs dishes as well as Sirloin steak with bones in and those were good as well. We were served 3 different types of salad, Caesar salad, tomatoes with barrata cheese and cucumber with tomatoes salad. I highly recommend the tomatoes with barrata cheese. It was soft and creamy. Their dessert was also the wife's fav. It was similar to tiramisu but isn't. It was soft and creamy. Sorry I don't know the name as all the food were preordered for us and we never saw the menu. The owners Vladimira and Rumen came out to help and check on everything. Their server Polina and the rest of the crew were great as well. Thanks for putting up with us and keeping up with us big bunches! My only disappointment and recommendation is that they serve proper Moscato wine. My wife asked if they have moscato wine and was told yes but when she got the glass of wine and sipped it was Reisling. NOT the SAME and for a fancy place she expected the glass to be nicer but it was served in a water goblet type of wine glasses. Short and thick. If you're a wine enthusiast or wine lover, you'll notice the differences
