My wife and I stopped in during a visit to the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach, and was impressed by the collection of curated products, neatly displayed across the space. Folks were setting up tables for one of their many cultural events/gatherings, but their space is big enough to handle it while shoppers browse. Their retail space includes a collection of 'Filipino Komiks & Kids Lit' and prints from local/Filipino artists (two of which we've already displayed at our home). This time, ended up bringing home a 'Bangus Pro Shop' ballcap ($24.95) and Filipino Birthday Greeting Card ($5.50). The payment processing is modern, using Shopify, their website platform provider. And their associates continue to be so friendly and helpful. Kubo is just a great place to visit.

When we came in, they were setting up for an event later in the day. With that being said, I can tell there is a lot of engagement and activities for the community! My fiancé and I came to stop by, to purchase gifts for a friend. He felt very seen and felt with every little book, trinket, and toy. I also felt delight seeing myself, being represented. I loved seeing the handmade items, small business items being sold, and books. The most impressive part was the books and toys for infants/toddlers. We purchased some "first words in Tagalog" books and a toy. This place is definitely worth visiting! The girls here were very inviting and nice. It was a pleasure stopping by and we hope to come back again!

Well, it took me a couple of hours to complete everything needed, I think this is fair because I did not come prepared with all the paperwork filled out if I had I think I would've been out in less than an hour maybe even less than 30 minutes. I would also like to say that at first it's a little frustrating because there's not a line you can walk directly to, but then upon second glance, the check-in system and the exceptionally kind gentlemanly receptionist was super helpful and would put you in queue for exactly where you needed to go. I actually found this rather efficient. Furthermore, everyone was extremely helpful with anything that I lacked knowledge on. I got the permit and started the roofing project and everything has been going very smoothly and I'm just very impressed with I do about 100s a year all over Southern California so I experience. The last thing I would like to say was, I really quite had a great time at the office because the morning I was there it seems like the coordinators of the front office a couple of very kind ladies. It seemed to me like we're organizing the staff and having a kindly meeting about how best to operate, it seem very cordial and productive... Then in the middle of the meeting, some soup walked in, does seem like Very butt hurt. He wasn't invited to the meeting and made a big stink out of it, and it clearly made everyone extremely uncomfortable. They were trying to whisper, but it was pretty obvious though there was a ton of office drama going on... Listen, I don't know who's on the right side here, but I thought it was pretty funny and from my perspective, no matter who is right the "Suite made everyone super uncomfortable so I thought it was hilarious. Anyway, I still recommend the city of Lakewood if you need to get a roofing permit... In fact they are the only game in town

They do this very often like every day many times throughout the day. Also, ever notice how there are constantly ambulances and fire trucks sirens going constantly each day especially up and down Del Amo Blvd and up and down Studebaker Road? It's so annoying that the city makes all this noise each day especially when homeowners paying nearly $1 million for their 1957 cheap looking stucco homes would like some peace and quiet on some days during the week.

City of Lakewood City Hall - The Lakewood police would do a damn thing to prevent illegal fireworks. Trust me, they won't.

But due to work, I have only been able to take a few classes throughout the years. But I do love the variety of classes that they offer and how constant their schedule is. If you are looking for a Japanese school for your child to attend, they offer that. If you would like to just learn more about the community through the different cultural classes, just sign up for the emails and you can be alerted for upcoming classes that they offer. I've taken amigurumi (crochet), ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement), and a cooking class. All of the instructors are great and mostly volunteers. So it just shows you what a great community there is. They have festivals through the year and also help put on the West Covina Cherry Blossom Festival. They also host the West Covina obon at the center but it is organized by the Buddhist church which is based out of the community center. So there is just a lot of activities that you can get involved with.
