We've come to Dr Nick since our kids were 12 months old (they're now 8 and 6). From the start they were so great introducing our babies to the dentist with a fun and educational experience. Now whenever we come for the appointments they run in and say "I love this place!". They have tvs on the ceiling for kids to be easily distracted during their appointments. They have a waiting room with games to entertain the kids. The staff is truly kid-friendly, which is hard to come by. And Dr Nick is the absolute best. We've had cavities, teeth pulled, and spacers placed. He's handled it all so professionally and with great detail while keeping our kids confident and comfortable. Their new location is spacious and easy open parking all the time! I will recommend this place to everyone looking for a kids dentist! read more

We've taken our daughter to Lone Tree Pediatric Dentistry for the last 2 years (since she turned 2) and will soon take our toddler son there. So far, she LOVES the dentist, so I think they're doing something right! I can't speak highly enough about the dental hygienists. They know exactly how to interact with the kids to make their experience not only comfortable, but also fun. They bring out the goodies at the right time, get them excited about different flavors of toothpaste, and offer another toy at the end. Wins all around! Dr. Nick is also kind and takes his time should you have any questions. Since my daughter is still little, we haven't had to deal with anything complicated yet, but I trust he'll guide us through those issues later on! Although my daughter's initial appointment with the dentist went well, I feel compelled to share with others about how TERRIBLE my experience was with this office after. We had set a date for surgery several months in advance. I was advised by the staff that they would attempt to run it through my insurance, and would follow up with me if it was denied. One week prior to the surgery, I finally received communication from the office about the insurance coverage. I was advised that it was 100% covered and that I would need to speak with the anesthesia company separately-- but that it would most likely be 100% covered through them as well. Great! I confirmed the appointment and modified our schedules to accommodate the surgery. Then, just a few days before the date of the surgery, I receive a call from a separate representative from the office. I was given completely different information and was told that my insurance denied the entire treatment and that I would be responsible for 100% of the cost. Excuse me? You're telling me this three days before the surgery? In this economy, people need sufficient time to plan for large medical expenses. I especially do, given my personal circumstances. I was extremely surprised by this contradictory information and was very concerned that I would not be able to make it work financially. The representative was then extremely rude and snarky towards me and said: "I told you at your initial appointment that there would be a chance that this would not be covered." Yeah, you told me that many, many months ago.. with zero follow-up. And JUST this week, you told me that it was 100% covered. The customer service representative was beyond rude and showed zero empathy, remorse, or accountability about her office's mistake. She made me feel like it was MY fault, even though THEY made a mistake. I still need the treatment for my daughter but I no longer have any trust in this office. I will definitely be looking elsewhere. It is imperative that you have trust in the office and staff that are responsible for your child's well-being. I do not trust the staff here at all. Their lack of attention to details, their inability to communicate, their complete lack of customer service and the contradictory information was APPALLING. If you are cost-conscious, I DO NOT recommend this place at all. They will surprise you a few days before a major treatment with a HUGE bill. They will show you ZERO empathy and take ZERO accountability. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. read more

I called on a Tuesday and was able to get my 5 year old in the next day for as a new patient. I explained to the receptionist that my little girl had a previous bad experience with a dentist and was frightened to return. She assured me this would be a better experience and she was right. From the moment we walked in your could tell we were in a business catered to children. The waiting room was fun with toys, cartoons, and a ocean theme all around. Ms Michelle greeted us and was lovely. We were seen promptly. Ms Stephanie was able to to help my little girl feel safe. She knows how to talk to and interact with kids. Dr Nick was excellent as well. My little girl left happy and is now looking forward to her next visit. Way to go! The team at LTPD really transformed everything. read more

Our family loves this practice and would recommend it to all families. My twins came in terrified a few years ago, and now, they love the dentist's office. Everyone is wonderful and so knowledgeable. We've come in for routine appointments and emergency ones, and we're always taken care of with the best experience. My challenge with this practice is trying to get the kids to leave (both the old location and espescially with the new one). They love it there and they'd lounge there for hours if they could. I truly think the twins are learning to love taking care of their teeth for life, and I'm very grateful to this practice for getting them started on the right path. read more

We had been going here for years and my kids absolutely loved it! They made the experience so enjoyable. Dr. Nick was always so kind and gentle. BUT after our last visit we were told that our insurance wasn't excepted anymore and they decided to set us on pay out of pocket which we now have around a $300 bill. The front desk lady NEVER said anything to us. I think they just wanted money out of us. I even sent the office a message and they completely ghosted me. I immediately canceled our account there and now go to a place who knows about this situation and said they will never let that happen. So just beware, it sounds like they have done this to multiple families. Even our pediatrician thought that was completely uncalled for. Told after the fact that our new insurance is not accepted and now figuring out how to pay $597x2 for basic check up and x-rays. Insurance was presented at time of first visit and obviously not checked. Website advertises $99 check up for new patients but was told we do not qualify. Long time client of this practice, so I suppose loyalty does not apply. Billing manager only offered payment plan. No help offered after asking with total bill which if new patients can qualify for $99 is $597 reasonable? We will not return. Two stars given because we have loved the practice and made the transition from Dr Nancy to Dr Nick. read more

Our 5 year old son had a sudden tooth pain and we were able to schedule an emergency appointment the same day - on a Friday afternoon - the staff was professional and gentle. They did X-rays, cleaning, then Dr. Nick Miner explained what needed to be done for my son's teeth. We returned 10 days later, after a treatment of antibiotics, for a cap and a filling - the whole procedure was smooth, they addressed both my anxiety about having my child under light sedation, and the actual procedure lasted about 1.5 hrs. My son was relaxed and never in pain. I was able to sit with him the the office all through the procedure. I absolutely recommend Lone Tree Pediatric Dentistry and Dr. Nick Miner. Wow!!! Just go somewhere else before you get a giant bill for nothing. I just received a bill from them for $399 for a cleaning/X-rays that I was told they could not take. We were there for about 20 minutes and I was under the impression that they were unable to do the work because he needed to be sedated for gag reflex. They attempted to bill my insurance after the fact and were unable to as I went to another dentist to have the work done. This was after they informed me that they were not in network but had all my insurance information prior to the appointment. I decided to take my 4yo to Dr. Nick's office because the office decor looked cute on his website and I loved his online profile. She isn't usually the best patient at doctor's visits so I fully expected her to be difficult but she did awesome! The office decor is just as cute. Dr. Nick and his staff were very nice! But I have to give all the credit to his dental hygienist. She explained everything to her in a kid friendly way and made each step fun. My daughter got a full cleaning and xrays and enjoyed every minute of it. They caught all the "sugar bugs!" She didn't want to leave, no joke. This was our 2.5-year-old's first visit to the dentist, and I was probably more nervous than he. I was immediately calmed by going into the office, which has a fun beach/under-the-sea theme with lots of fun toys for the kiddos to play with. We waited less than 5 minutes before we were brought back. The dental technician (Andrea) was AMAZING. She took the time to explain all the tools to my son, and demonstrated them in a water cup. She gave him cool sunglasses to wear. The tooth cleaning went off without a hitch! (helps that he got marshmallow flavor for polish) Dr. Miner was also great. He was prompt to check my son's teeth after they were cleaned, and he let me know what to expect as my son gets bigger, and gave great advice about making sure his teeth stay healthy! read more

The office is clean, offers fun activities for the children to engage in while waiting for their appointment, friendly and professional staff, and most importantly a kind and engaging dentist. This was the best experience I have ever had at the dentist! The dental hygienist took the time to show my three year old son everything she would be using to clean his teeth. We liked Dr. Miner, and we had a good experience at the dentist. However, when I initially made the appointment, I asked whether the office took my insurance. I was told they did. And when we arrived, the front desk called my insurance to see if full x-rays were covered. I was told they were. With no cavities or other issues, I was surprised to receive a bill for $136. I'd never received any bill for preventative care previously. When I called to inquire, I was told that while the office "accepted" my insurance, they were not "contracted" with my insurance... i.e., we were out of network. When I said that this was misleading, I was told that I'd been informed accurately. It definitely soured what was a positive experience in the actual office. read more

However, the office staff changed and that's when the billing issues began. Thanks to my FSA company verifying charges, I realized that the office had been over charging me by hundreds of dollars for services. I worked with the office staff and did get a refund but the practice continued. After the 4th time and nearly nonstop billing issues, we decided to leave to the practice. This is not a Dentist office I would ever recommend. The original dentist was amazing, Dr. Grant, but the office has completely turned over except 2 people. The front office is AWFUL Michelle doesn't take in-network estimates for work. So you overpay for the work you will have done. Michelle misrepresents paper work and asks for blind signatures. Dentist office does not communicate additional charges. Additional charges are identified well after procedure and notification comes by way of the insurance company. This dentist's practice has poor business ethics and a lacks a minimum level of communication! NO LONGER A TRUSTED OFFICE. When the insurance talked to them about not complying with the insurance contract the dentist office decided to cancel the insurance- NO LONGER in-network with AMERITAS. The front office is TERRIBLE to deal with, do not risk having such a hassle. I have to go to an additional dentist to get a tooth fixed. The tooth never hurt now has hurt for over 2 weeks. read more

Both the hygienist, Michelle and Dr. Nick were wonderful with my 3 year old. He came in very shy and scared (he wouldn't even sit in the chair at first), but was completely comfortable by the end of his appointment. I loved how Michelle let him sit on my lap, and took the time to show him all of the "cool" tools that she was going to use. She never pushed him to do anything, but kept giving him different choices so that by the end of the appointment, he was sitting in the chair and letting Dr. Nick look in his mouth. No tears! After the exam, Michelle was also nice enough to play with my son in the waiting room while Dr. Nick answered all of my questions. This office completed preventive cleanings on 2 children. We have 2 network insurance companies contracted with the contracted allowance amount listed on the EOB's - Standard process. This office balance bills outside the network contract for the amount over their contract. We have talked with the billing associate twice now with no resolution. We may need to reach out to the insurance commissioner. read more
