I wanted to restore my 2009 breast results with ultra-high-profile cohesive implants and a full anchor lift to correct sagging. My husband and I outlined our goals in writing and confirmed them in person. We held the implants. We reviewed the plan. It was acknowledged. Agreed to. But Dr. Smart substituted different implants, skipped the lift--twice--and never reviewed prior surgical records. He reversed post-op photos to suggest "improvement" and omitted implant details from billing records. When we raised concern, he canceled our follow-up. Staff involved: * Rachel Schindler - Office Manager * Brook Anderson - Medical Assistant * Jaelea Lacey - RN None spoke up. None intervened. I now face a third surgery. My breasts are lower, deformed, and emotionally traumatizing. Dr. Smart's attorney offered $10,300 in exchange for a full release, gag clause, and non-disparagement agreement. We declined. Then published the truth. Patient reviews say the same: * Healthgrades (2022): "DO NOT TRUST HIM. Paid $20k. No lipo. Sagging skin untouched. Dismissed and refused revision." * RealSelf (2015): "Half-naked while he avoided eye contact. Cold. Arrogant. Dr. Hill's 5-10-minute consultation felt rushed and condescending, with no clinical evaluation. At no time did the office request photos from my younger years to ensure a natural-looking outcome and did not utilize AI technology--which is pretty commonplace now--to share what I might look like post-surgery. Fast-forward: 8 weeks later, office staff advised their surgery facility is out-of-network--only after the pre-auth denial. Due diligence upfront would have avoided wasting my time and their resources if their chosen facility is out of network. My insurance patient advocate confirmed the request was missing clinical measurements, which standard practice dictates MRD measurements and SVF with both open and taped eyelids, but the practice requested only SVF open from the optometrist and never took MRD. Unprofessional delays and transactional service--more focused on their injection/cash-pay business than using medical expertise to help with health. Looking for turn-key profits over patient care. I have been so extraordinary impressed! In December 2019, I went for an evaluation of my breast implants (placed @ 13 years ago) because I had a concern of the shape. Upon Dr. Giraldo's evaluation, he explained that the 'Tear Drop' shape implants turned causing my shape and size to change. It made perfect sense! Dr. Giraldo further explained all of the types of breast implants and the implants he would recommend for me. I mentioned to Dr. Giraldo that I work out and he advised me on some movements to customize and sport bras to consider. Talk about a plethora of information?!? I left his office with more information than I had questions! Needless to say, I couldn't wait to schedule my surgery! I'm about 3 weeks out now and really haven't missed a beat! My very honest review of my experience. I believe dr. Friedman is a master of his craft but…read moreultimately I was disappointed with how he handled me. I came in about a month ago wanting lipo on my belly and sides. I told Dr. Friedman my story up until then, that over the last year and a half I had dropped from close to 40% body fat to 28, but I just wanted a more targeted fat reduction on my belly. The doctor told me that, while he was willing to do the procedure, he advised against it as it wouldn't get me to my ultimate goal, immediately instead he started to pitch me GLP-1s. I know many people have seen success with GLP-1s, including family, but I tried to explain to the doctor that I didn't think GLP-1s were the miracle I needed. GLP-1s work by mimicking the body's hormones that signal satiation. They are very strong appetite suppressants and I referred to them as such. GLP-1s also take a year to be effective, cost upwards of $130 a month, and research shows that the body doesn't just loose fat, but lean a lot of mass is also lost in the process and as a man, this was something I wanted to avoid. After people stop talking the peptide, 2/3rds of people regain the weight because they have not learned to control themselves without it. I also didn't feel like I needed it because I had been slowly loosing my body fat over the previous year anyway. The doctor tried to convince me that GLP-1s don't just hold off cravings, that they help boost metabolism too, when I asked him to explain how he just fumbled his words around. I came in knowing the doctor couldn't remove all the fat from me, but I did just want a targeted fat lost on my belly. I don't think the doctor was incompetent in anyway or directly benefits from people getting Ozempic. I think he's just very selective for who he chooses to preform procedures on, taking in clients he's 100% sure he can do top results with, and pitches Ozempic to people he can't work with as a means of compensating for their time.
