By FAR Infamous Brewing's largest event to date (at least twice as large as any other; over 200 peeps including Yeeps today; Josh the proprietor, is already doing recon for the next par-tay; IBC's 3 yr anniversary on 03-19-2016 BTW if your down, to make things run a bit smoother)!. Special thanks to Josh et all (yeah, you too lovely Sarah with an H) and Mike & wife from @CajunKitcben. Despite the long lines on all fronts, we Yeeple are immune to any such annoyances and are used to crowds. Thanks to coordinating among our group, we successfully landed a spot at the back of the crowd with our own tables (thank goodness for Abhishek & Carmela!) and chairs brought, still in eye's view of the live music, and not annoying anyone other than ourselves with the red balloons that kept popping us in the head (my apologies) - they mysteriously disappeared - kind of. Lol! It was SUCH a joy to hang out with some of most favorite Yelp folks, sucking crawfish heads and eating tails, sipping Infamous' great craft beer, and engaging in many intriguing conversations - note: we like to talk as much as we like to eat. Thank you to all who came out to participate in a very special Sunday Funday! It made my day fo sho. It's a small spot out off of Hudson Bend Rd and let me tell ya ... They are brewing some tasty stuff! My favorite beer was the Hijack which is a cream ale. The crawfish were good, but could have been spicier in my opinion, but not everyone likes that so I totally understand. They ordered almost 200 lbs of crawfish and sold out! So needless to say the boil was a success!! I am looking forward to coming back to Infamous and trying more of their brews! They charged my card then said that they didn't have GA+ for one day, only for 3 days. So they LIED TO ME!. Then they had NO REFUND and wouldn't return my money! The ticket desk could never give me a time line of the artists performances. When you buy your ticket, they never say anything about a $5 chair fee to TAKE YOUR OWN CHAIR IN! There's even a fee to take your own blanket in! Then when you get in, the area close to the stage is blocked off and says "No Chairs/Blankets" past this point, after you paid for it1 The only food vendor (jerk chicken) line was too long. They need about 3 jerk chicken vendors. Last year was $20 and $25 cash at the door, in and out option and definitely no chair fees. These new owners really took the fun out of this event. Will not attend again!

There were many vendors selling drinks and food, none of the lines were crazy long, which happens at most festivals I go to. The view of downtown was fantastic, I hope they keep having the festival at auditorium shores! It wasn't overcrowded on the lawn, lots of room to spread out. Many portable bathrooms. The music was awesome. I stayed pretty much all day. Good vibes all around. Will definitely be going next year!

The display, at many points of the show, did not make it high enough in the air so we were watching the fireworks through the tree line. The people in the lot took parking spaces with their chairs and would not move so people could park in spaces. I'm sure the display was nice if you're at the park but watching from the High School is no longer a great place to watch. Traffic was terrible, of course. The event coordinators may want to rethink telling people to watch from the HS unless they're going to shoot the fireworks higher in the air ​

This stadium can fit 11K people for a high school game although there's other high school stadiums in Texas with bigger capacities. They do replays on the screen. Parking is free. Tickets are $9 to sit on the home side. Recommend sitting on home side to view a great half time show produced by the students from band and drill teams. Recommend going to a high school football game in Texas, it's more theatrical than other high school games out of state with good participation from the local community, bands, drill teams and student body. Lines are a bit long for concessions but restrooms were fine, not long waits.

I had a coupon for me and a plus one to have a reserved seat for free at the Dell Diamond, and I wanted to take advantage of it. I convinced my buddy to go with me to an opening series game where the Round Rock Express faced the Gwinnett Stripers. We agreed to go on a Wednesday to get our dollar hot dog night on. You know how that goes. Of course, going to every sporting event feels like they are going to nickel and dime you. It's $15 for parking, so if you can carpool, I'd highly recommend it. Beers range from $12 for domestic to $14 for craft. Everything is pricey. The hot dogs still remained $2 the whole night. Selfishly, I ate 5 over the nine innings. I didn't eat much through the day, and a decent ballpark dog was calling my name. As for the actual game, it was over by the second inning. The night was very windy, so no balls had a chance to go yard. The Stripers scored 6 runs at the top of the 2nd and it was 7 scoreless innings for the Express. Ay caramba. The nice gentleman in front of us was at the game with his wife and gave us good conversation. We watched kids rabid for the flying foul balls. Sometimes the game isn't even the most entertaining part because the stadium has a story of its own. The hot dogs were very nice. At a dollar, they could be lukewarm, soggy, and wrinkled, but they were dense, flavorful, and actually pretty good. Sometimes I wonder if dollar dogs are cheaper and they probably are, but you couldn't fool me. They weren't jumbo quarter-pound dogs by any means, but they were a normal quality-sized wiener. I drank a draft of the Love Street Blonde, one of my favorite common craft beverages, and got a can of Michelob Ultra from a very nice hawker that I obviously tipped. I just don't really like Michelob Ultra, I realize. I took a stroll through the Dell Diamond before leaving and there's a lot of cool spots from their yard in the back, which is great for just relaxing during the game, though the view isn't the most ideal for the action (great for bombs though). There's a full bar as well with baseball simulators and TVs showing other games, but if I'm paying money to park and watch a game, maybe that's not the move IMO. Regardless of the Express getting rocked by the Stripers, I had a great time and want to return to more Express games this season. As a young adult, the deals on weekdays are too good to pass up. Thursday might be a move in the future for those $4 domestics, $7 drafts, and cheaper food options around the park. Maybe next time the Express will get more runs than hot dogs I ate. It's easy to sit at a computer and bitch. But fantastically, in the midst of all these changes, something else has happened and that is Lyft. 'Wait, I came here for a review about a music venue, this chick is cray' you're thinking. And you might be right but, driving, looking for parking, paying for parking, the potential for tickets, towing, vandalism, DWIs, etc. are all valid reasons to avoid most of the Austin's music venues but with Lyft, even on ACL Festival weekend, it was super easy to go out, catch one band at The Sidewinder and call it an early night. No muss, no fuss. On Friday night at 10:40, I walk into the newly christened Sidewinder for a show: A Giant Dog was going at at 11. Perfect timing. Other than the huge blue stamp on my hand, it was free entry. Score! Except for blue ink on my face this morning. Ah, it's like being 15 again. Except under 21 had a $5 cover *and* blue stuff on their face this morning. I went to the bartender and sweetly asked him if they had and specials and he looked a little at a loss and said, 'no.' I asked how much a Deep Eddy and soda would set me back and he said '$6.' I laughed and said, "put that on a chalkboard, that is a special!". Downtown, Friday night, and a pour that makes you glad you took alternate transportation for $6. Yes, please. And they have Square here. The bartender and I jived awhile about how cool that was, no pens, no math, no paper, no left cards, much easier for them to close out at the end of the night. The only thing, it might still be super cool if you carry a little cash for tips but you can tip on your card so either way is appreciated I'm sure. I used to be cool and always tipped in cash, I'm not as cool anymore but I tip more on credit. Square has the percents all built in for you so, it's super easy. The only drawback I found to this incredible system is that you get an email receipt for each transaction cause Sidewinder closes you out every time. So if you don't want to wake up with three emails from Square in your inbox, wondering how you had three drinks in an hour and a half, and how you're going to get that blue shit off your face, set up a rule to banish the Square receipts to another email folder and wonder about your functional alcoholism another day. As for the blue shit, I can't help you, even eye makeup remover is powerless against it. As for the sound, A Giant Dog sounded like a totally different band than what I recall. In a good way. Because I'd only seen them at Hotel Vegas, the venue with the worst sound in town by many opinions, which interestingly, totally works for AGD, but so does better and/or different sound. The system at The Sidewinder is much better and Waller Creek in the background and the openness of the back aid in smoothing and dampening the sound. Which proves, you have to see bands at a variety of venues to really get a sense of them. And besides, if you like a band, it's cool and easy to follow them to various venues and it helps you get a sense of what you like and don't like. Instead of complaining about the changing scene, go see local bands where you can, while you can. Especially if it's no cover and drinks are cheap. Then in 10 years, when that local band is headlining at ACL Fest, you can be a smug jerk and say, "I'm not going to ACL, I used to see those guys for free at The Sidewinder."

Across most of the vendors I tried, the food just didn't match the price point. Many stalls were charging premium prices, but the quality didn't reflect it. Portions were often inconsistent, and in some cases, there was more fat than actual meat. On top of that, wait times were long, which might've been understandable if the food came out fresh--but instead, a lot of it tasted like it had been prepared in bulk and left sitting. The result? Dry, overcooked dishes that lacked the flavor you'd expect at a festival like this. After a while, it honestly started to feel like I could've gone to a regular food court and gotten better quality for a fraction of the price. That's not what you hope for when you're attending something that's supposed to highlight great food and unique vendors. To be fair, there were a couple of standout stalls that were genuinely delicious, but they were few and far between, maybe 2% of what I tried. If I had one suggestion for the future, it would be for organizers to focus more on quality over quantity. Smaller portion options would also make a huge difference. For example, instead of committing to a $25 plate of 8 wings, it would be great to have the option to try one or two wings at a lower price. That way, people can try more vendors without spending a fortune. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed and wishing the experience had lived up to its reputation. I'm hopeful for next year being an improvement.

There was another area near the fire pits that only had a few food offerings but all liquor vendor brand activations which meant (surprise, surprise) by the time that we left at 4pm (an hour before close) people were spilling their drinks on my shoes and trying to chat completely wasted. Ugh. No thanks. Maybe I would try the Friday night event next year, which seems to be more food focused, but I will not do the Saturday or Sunday thing again. Lots of other higher quality food events and many at a lower price point.

Each day you get to taste a ton of different food and drinks. Every day they will have the same drink vendors, but they do change the food vendors. So it is worth getting the two day ticket, especially the price. Just makes it more worth it than paying just for one day. The DJ they have is amazing. They have had them for God knows how many years now. He puts on such a fun vibe. At the end of the festival, everybody gathers around him and it's just mingling and having fun and dancing and drinking. Definitely everybody that comes to this event is just so happy and sociable.
