I've been to this place twice now -- I loved it the last time I passed through Rapid. I was impressed: the selection is big, with lots of interesting, creative, homemade flavors in tap. The guy was friendly, and introduced me to a few things I'd never tried, such as coffee kombucha. I'm an amateur brewer, we had a great conversation, and he generously shared a couple tips with me. The kombucha I bought was great, and I regretted not getting more, so I made a detour back there on my next trip through town. This time, though, the woman tending to customers was pretty unfriendly. She acted like my request to try 2 flavors before I bought one was an imposition (last time, I was told that was standard, or I wouldn't have asked). She responded defensively to my (very basic) question about how one of the flavors was brewed, saying she had nothing to do with the production. She messed up my order, but corrected herself before she handed it to me -- then seemed angry with me, as if it was my fault. She was clearly annoyed when I used coins to pay for part of my order, and then shorted me a dollar for my change, which I had to explain the math on 3 times before she fixed it. I am all for supporting local businesses, especially ones that have such a great product. I would've given 5 stars after my first time through. But the woman who helped me the second time made the experience so unpleasant that the next time I'm in Rapid, I'm going to look though the window to check if she's working before I decide to come in. In summary: excellent kombucha, but the customer service can be either great or terrible, depending on who's staffing the front. read more

They do not wear masks and honestly the service wasn't very good either. I was in and extremely disappointed they do not take the pandemic seriously - also their responses to comments on this on google seem to somehow demonize their consumers for pointing to his out . I Was at one point excited to support the local rapid city brewery / kombucha scene but my experience left a very sour taste in my mouth . read more

Wow, I have never been in such Kombucha euphoria. The selection of flavors and combinations put me in my happy place. The location reminds me of a brewery and has a bunch of Kombucha's on tap. I was given a tasting of the concord, pomegranate, ginger, just bucha, and lavender Kombuchas. While they were all amazing. I feel for the ginger and just bucha varieties. The just bucha has a nice carbonated flavor tea flavor and was refreshing and not sweet. The ginger flavor had a strong ting of ginger and was not overly sweet. While all of the other Kombuchas were amazing too, these were my two favorites as they were not overly sweet letting the Kombucha taste speak for itself. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone would enjoys non alcoholic drinks over alcohol. They have flights like a brewery and the owner was a former brew master so he knows his stuff and is extremely kind and friendly. Definitely recommend visiting their location for a refreshing drink on a warm day. I'm truly sad that I can not purchase their brand back home. read more

Beer was simple and perfect. Took some kombucha to go, excellent blend of sweet and sour. Orange creamsicle kombucha was heaven.

I was so excited back in July to try Lone Pine. (Even though months later, I feel it's the right time to post this review). I had made several attempts to visit Lone Pine during visits to the Black Hills in the past, but always on days it wasn't open. Now was the time. I love kombucha. It's a charming spot with great appeal. However, this is the part that disappointed me. The female employee was very cold. She mocked me wearing a mask to another customer, and was quite rude. I tried a couple flavors. The kombucha is a little acidic for my taste, which is fine. It might appeal to others. I ordered a glass and sat by the window. The kombucha isn't the best, but the experience at Lone Pine left a bad taste in my mouth. I won't be back and I don't recommend it to others. read more
