This is one of those boutiques that is just going to make me poor. Why? Because after my first visit this morning, all I can think about is who I can send gift cards to...which is soon to be just about everyone. Maybe I'll just slowly work through my entire Yelp friends list? The interior is a heavenly white with gorgeous painted brick walls, an open feel, round showcase tables, and a clean storage system that manages to keep a shop of small products looking both tidy and whimsical at the same time. I'm not sure if it's all the cute animals, trees, and nature prints, but it kind of feels like stepping into the world of the Fantastic Mr. Fox in all the right ways. I managed to keep myself on strategy today, buying only the four thank-you cards that I immediately needed. But I'll be back...I just pray for the strength to refrain from a purchase of nursery room prints that I'm in love with. You know...'cause I might accidentally give birth over the next few days. But guys, it was a family of elephants holding tails in a row! ELEPHANTS! HOLDING TAILS! WITH A BABY ELEPHANT! I've heard of worse reasons to have a kid than that...

Inkwell is the reason I started buying cards again. I would much rather spend $5 on a locally made card than on something mass produced. And it's always a little piece of art too, so it's a two-in-one gift!

When I went back in to Advanced Screen Printing the printer informed me that the reason this had happened was because ink had not cured properly. I expected them to replace my faulty order, but instead they advised me to collect the 20 tops I had sold and bring them back into to have them run through the dryer again. Eager to please my customers and avoid having their tops crack, I collected them all back up and had them out through the dryer, then returned them to each customer. I was assured that I would be 'taken care of' on my next order with them. When it came time to place my next order I was told I would be given $10 off of my $500 order to compensate for my inconvienence. I would never deal with this company again.

She said if it's anything I can deal with it and she huffed at me on the phone and I said you don't need to huff at me and the next thing I knew she hung up on me. I was appalled that a business would have someone who would hang up on a potential client like that. I felt I spent too much money on it and wasn't sure I liked the pattern up against my wall when I got home. Anyways, apparently their return policy is 7 days because on the 8th day, I tried to return this (never used) and I was shut down. They literally hung up on me when I called. I was devistated by the lack of customer service. It was almost as if she was just looking for my sale....once she got it, I didn't matter. I will never shop this store again!

When I got them I thought the colours seemed really, really washed out, and black sections of the photo weren't black, they were a dark gray. I wrote it off thinking it was the image itself and I'd have to do some colour correction, but when I reviewed the photos they looked fine, and when I had the same prints done elsewhere, the colours were rich and the dark areas were perfect. I don't know if they're just using sub-par printers, they were running out of ink, or if they were printing at a low saturation to save ink/ money, but I would not pay for prints from here again.
