London Pub is Oslo's oldest bar catering exclusively to an LGBT crowd. Originally an English pub, it retained its old name when changing to a gay bar in 1979, and has kept going strong ever since.
Down a flight of stairs is the basement floor, which has the main seating area with two bars, a jukebox, and a pool table. There's not many windows, so it's quite dark/cozy (depending on your preference). The walls are lined with pictures of famous people related to the British Isles, most of whom are gay or bisexual. Have a look and see if you can name them all! Finally, inn the deepest inner most part of the grotto there's also a coat check that's only manned on Fridays and Saturdays. Weekends are usually quite busy all year round, so expect the place to get crowded after about twelve o' clock at night. The upper (ground) floor is open most, but not all nights, and has a dance floor with DJ + a final, third bar.
The crowd consists mostly of gay men and their occasional female friend/fag hag, though since Oslo's only lesbian bar (So) closed down a couple years ago, LGBT women have started hanging out at a bit more frequently. Age-wise London is usually a bit older than Oslo's other major gay venue Elsker, that club is however only open Thursdays to Saturdays. Patrons are often 40+, but since London Pub on many days is the only game in town if you want to get your gay on, you'll quite often find guys in their 20's and 30's here too.
