I wasn't sure if it was karaoke night, but I figured, regardless, I wanted to check this place out. I think I strolled in around 10:30-11:00 maybe? A few people out front smoking. Inside are two levels- the top a dance floor, the bottom, the pub. Two people were upstairs, that's it. I actually think they were employees just sitting there waiting for customers, but there were none. The action was downstairs. To my luck, it was karaoke night. I walked down the steps and immediately heard a rousing rendition of, "Careless Whisper". I knew I was in the right place. I picked up a rose cider which was around $12 USD and was able to sit down in the front row. A few songs played on the video screen accompanied by a girl who was interrupted by a very drunk man during her rendition of, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on it). A few Norwegian songs were song, along with a couple American ditties that I can't remember. Sadly, karaoke ended at midnight, at least that evening. I laughed a lot that night. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm, and the service is decent. The bathrooms are located in the basement, which feels like a workout after finishing a couple of pitchers. One of the steps are slightly higher than the others so watch out for that, I have all most fell down the whole staircase a few times. Either way, cozy spot down town Oslo.

The bartender informed us that it will take a minute because he needs to get cucumbers. Husband and I looked at each other in confusion - what kind of a dirty martini requires cucumbers? After some communication, the confusion was cleared and we received a well-made dirty martini. We also ordered a local beer (forget the name), which was ok. We were hungry by this time, so we ordered the Norske delikatesser which is a sampler of various Norwegian meats and cheeses. It is good for a light dinner, but nothing memorable. The ambiance of this place is interesting. It is a mixed crowd and the ambiance changes rapidly from many couples having dinner to a party scene after 10pm. A nice place for people watching and getting a drink before moving on to another place for dinner.

The problem is that you never know how many people are inside as you can't see in. So you might end up paying 100 nok and the place is empty. The music is varying as the djs change all the time. So it's difficult to say but generally when I have been there it was quite danceable beats. The crowd is really mixed with a lot of foreigners and ages from early to late 20s. What I don't like is that you have to pay a fee at the door which for me unless a place is a proper club it doesn't make sense to me. Also the line can be quite big so it's better to go early. Jæger is a place that is usually crowded and something is happening there so I would definitely go back. Just would make sure to avoid the queue and wouldn't wear my fanciest outfit as it's a very laid back and crowded bar.

In my opinion not worth for this place. It's a cool place to go dancing but it's slightly too divey for me. I must say I had a good time though! So I would go back if my friends were there.
