(We were able to check in early) After moving into our suite the casino floor beckoned us. We both played in Chamonix casino and all through Bronco Billy's. Had a great time. I had one hand-pay. Dawn the local bartender, Lexi, pay master and Joel, security, watched over everything, all helped me with this exciting event. Great people. Dinner was at the new Don Juan's Cucina Mexican restaurant. Loads of food and a special Tequila. On our way to the suite my walker needed adjustment and Tim, custodian, came to the rescue. All in all everything from arrival to 980 Prime, Saturday, was beyond high quality. W. Field, marketing and W. Vinson, personal host made my 90th birthday the very best.

When we told them about the charges the front desk person YELLED at us for using the mini-bar fridge. I'm sorry, this feels extremely shady. There were NO signs about use of the mini-bar fridge. For the price you would think they could afford a real mini-fridge in the rooms. I was not impressed, we did not feel welcome, and we will not stay again. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has stayed in a nice hotel before and has experienced actual hospitality. This place has bad vibes all around.

Since I was sitting at the bar watching football I was getting my drinks. It seems that they offer you a drink about every 30 minutes. Seems pretty generous to me and reasonable. Don't want to see a bunch of drunks slopping all over the place. My waitress was great, she had a great personality and made a great Bloody Mary. I had two but even though I was there for a couple of hours I had to limit two because I do have to drive down the hill. My wife and mother-in-law both said that drinks on the floor were not great. Only one drink for my wife in a couple of hours of play.

While eating at China Wok, my cousin's roommate asked what we were going to do with the rest of the afternoon. After some back and forth, we settled on visiting Cripple Creek and some casinos. After eating lunch and letting the food settle, we hit the road for Cripple Creek. We got some tips from Katie on the drive there (due to the mountain roads) and also which casinos are fun. My cousin and I arrived and parked in a parking lot that is open to the public. We wandered from one casino to the next, winning some money here and losing some there. Eventually, we stumbled in to The Brass Ass and signed up for some player cards. My cousin had never played table games before, so we ended up at the Craps table for our first gamble. We explained to the dealers that we had no idea what we were doing. They were nice enough to explain the rules. After a few throw of the di, we ended up being way ahead of our initial bets. My cousin was up $40 and I was up $25. We left the Craps table and checked out the other table games. We ended up at a table dealing Three Card Poker. The dealer there was also nice enough to explain the rules to us. I decided to sit back and spectate while my cousin played a few hands. Not only was the dealer nice enough to explain the rules, she was sassy enough to keep my cousin in line as he kept doing things not allowed by their casino rules. After my cousin was up and then down... and then eventually down enough that he wanted to quit playing, we made our way back to the Craps table... where we lost more money. Once my cousin lost all his money, we made our way to the Cage so I could cash out my $15 in chips. Before we left, we took a look around to see what else the Casino offered. I have always struggled with the fact that they have no cocktail waitresses and only one bartender for two floors and the 400 machines they boast except on Friday and Saturday when they have 2 bartenders in total and discovered that on Sundays over long weekends (like Labor Day), there is only one bartender as it is not a Friday of Saturday. These poor bartenders have to go to the floor to take orders as well as the bars. Good luck getting a drink. Now they have changed the rules for their Premier Club so that they only comp your rooms if you go to the desk each night and ask them to in spite of earning enough points to get it comped. Their site does not say that and I received nothing in the mail nor in my email noting this change. My rooms were always automatically comped. I travel with a small dog and when I went in February, I was still able to use my points to pay the $100 pet fee as I aways have now you can only use your points dollars for food and, even at that, the money you transfer for food expires in 24 hours. All of this intended to keep you from cashing in on your rewards. I only found this out when I checked out and they charged me for the room and pet in spite of earning nearly 6,000 base points during my stay worth $600 in rewards. When I was justifiably mad and voiced my frustration, a security guard got in my space and told me to leave "Now!". I asked him, "what, I am not allowed to get upset?" he replied, "no, leave now!" and stepped within reach of me to intimidate me to leave. Clearly he had no training in de-escalation or customer service. When I said that I will never come here again, he replied, "we don't want you back, leave NOW!". I left and will never return again. During my stay I heard numerous patrons complain about the casino changing their rules one of them was a very loud and upset self-described platinum member. I note that they installed a new computer system while we were there and shut down the casino playing from 1:30 AM to 6 AM two nights in a row. After the change, we only lost and lost big. Too much of a coincidence for me.

The door to the bathroom is very light and there's an accessible stall, but the soap in the bathroom is out of reach. The largest impediment to your culinary experience would probably be that the salad bar counter is too high for an average wheelchair user or little person. I'm sure the staff would help or you could have somebody in your party assist, but it would be difficult to navigate on your own. There are several accessible parking spots.

Suffice it to say, we only got small little slivers of beef, and this was frustrating because what we did receive tasted great, but they hardly ever came by and the slices they gave us were extremely small. We were basically starving to death and so we ended up having to feed ourselves from the salad bar. I had a black bean soup that was pretty good, and a salad. I would say in the hour and a half we were there I didn't get 6 ounces of beef. My wife and daughters had given up in pretty much up on waiting for meat and they just snacked on the salad bar stuff. So they got even less. Given the price point on this lunch, it was not a good deal at all. I mentioned to one of the guys who cut the meat at the table that we really wanted some more steak.
