It's also hard to find a seat, so you have to wonder whether they should expand somehow! Despite that, it's a handy place to meet if you live out east, and you can see much of the goings on of Howick if you enjoy watching interesting people walk past.

I follow both of them on instagram and their pictures are always incredible - who knew healthy food could look so good! Anyway, three weeks after opening I finally made it to their new store in for lunch with Dad. It's a lot smaller than I expected with a row of window seats and a couple of tables outside. All up, it would seat 15pax max. As for the food, they had three options - all of which came in takeaway containers. Dad went for a vegetarian noodle salad, which was kind of like a healthy pad thai. He seemed pretty chuffed with his choice and after stealing a forkful, I understood why! Full of flavour, fresh, light, delicious. I opted for the tomato, lentil and preserved lemon soup, which came with a warm bread roll and butter. A real winter warmer! We couldn't resist sharing a piece of raw, vegan tiramisu cheesecake to finish. It was expensive but pretty incredible. A nutty base with smooth layers of coffee and vanilla sprinkled with raw cacao powder. A fabulous addition to Kingsland! Stop in for coffee and cake on a sunny day or pick up lunch to takeaway.

We first came here when one of our Sunday brunch group Paul, had spotted the place as new in the hood and suggested we try it. Back then we were completely ignorant about paleo food and... well... let's just say Kerry was VERY unimpressed. "What's this sh*t?" I think came out of his mouth when the food arrived. He was so unhappy and grumbled through the whole brunch and Paul was subsequently banned from suggesting new places. Flash forward a few months, my partner Ryan and I decided to try the Paleo Diet. Going Paleo diet can seriously hinder your eating out choices but not at this place! We've been there many times since, it's a once a week thing for us so far only for breakfast but we're keen to try the lunch as the menu looks great. My standard breakfast is always either the Eggs Benedict or Cocoa Banana Pancakes with Pear Syrup, Whipped Coconut Cream and Berry Dust. It's quite an intriguing start to the day. The Eggs Benedict comes with spinach leaves and a dairy free hollandaise - they use coconut oil - and the whole thing is served on almond meal bread. The other morning we were graced with the unexpected presence of Ms Pam Corkery and her Dancing with the Stars partner Matt. Both were surprisingly chipper given the fact that they'd placed bottom that week. Pam and Matt both tucked in to a salmon breakfast and were wowed by it. The owner told them that their salmon is caught, delivered and on the plate within 24 hours. I'm no salmon fan but it did look great! From the counter try the Double Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie which I'm missing as I write this and when I finish will go get one... The Paleo Fruit Muffin is also good. The staff are friendly and seem happy to be there.

Knowing where you're food comes from and how it's processed I think is important and these guys do their best to make everything in house and source local top quality ingredients. Mum and I popped in for brekkie on the weekend. The menu is short and feat. all the standard offerings - bacon & eggs, pancakes, muesli, eggs benny - as well as an array of baked cabinet goodies. I settled on eggs (poached) w salmon. The eggs were cooked perfectly but the salmon was far too smokey. It almost had a chemical taste to it. I adore salmon but one mouthful was all I could manage. The bread also was a bit of a let down. It had no substance and just sort of dissolved in your mouth. I prefer a grainy, seeded bread w my eggs or sourdough but that's just me. I would happily pop back for coffee (Millers) but I don't think I'll be adding it to my list of regular brunch spots just yet.

I was in Auckland for a day/night and found out about Mojo from all of you lovely Yelpers out there…read more:) We stayed the night in the Skycity Grand and walked over to Mojo from there. It was a few blocks away, and some hills worthy of mentioning (especially when you're pushing a 40-pound, 4-year-old uphill in a stroller), but anyway.... IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Wow, yum. I've had a lot of muesli since moving to New Zealand (it must be on every breakfast menu) and this one eeked it's way into first place. Really, it was right there at the top (see my picture). The coffees were awesome, though I don't prefer hot drinks to be served in glasses ('cuz they get too hot to hold) but I would have happily endured a few minor finger burns to gulp down that caffienated goodness. The only minor issue here was the seating (for us, with 2 kiddos). It's a lovely, long table through the center of the room (the decor is light and beautiful) but it's slightly socially awkward when everyone else is sitting at the far other end of the table (presumably, to avoid the kiddos). That said, however, one of the chefs was super nice to us, brought us lots of extra napkins (pre-emptively) and played peek-a-book with my 1-year-old while we ate and kept him occupied in the stroller. A high chair at the end of that beautiful table would surely have ruined the scene (but would have been helpful). In spite of these little things, our overall experience was excellent. Even my husband said so, and that's saying something :) We will happily come back here every time we are in the area.

Located just up from Glassons and right next to Renkon, this new cafe is easy to spot - you won't miss the bright blue building and outdoor seating. Inside, the decor is light, bright and you can either sit at the very long table in the middle or at the window bar, which would be great for people-watching! Now, onto the food! Couldn't believe how many options there were! From their breakfast and lunch meals (they cook everything fresh to order), to sweet treats from Amandine, raw cheesecakes from The Raw Kitchen, plus amazing paninis (I like the prosciutto one), sandwiches and muffins etc. And we can't forget the coffee! I have to be honest, I didn't actually try one...instead I saw Kombucha (organic probiotic tea) on the menu and had never tried it so I finally did! But if their coffee is as good as their Vulcan Lane store, then I'm sold! Strong, extra hot coffee, just how I like it! If you're not a coffee lover, they also serve an array of drinks, such as sodas, kombucha (as mentioned above), juices, smoothies (I've got my eye on the cacao one) and Hopt soda! Even if it's a good day for sitting outside I would urge you to order at the counter and then venture into the back room(s) where homely lounge furniture and quirky decoration make it instantly relaxing. I was served an ace coffee and delicious toasted sandwich very quickly and was so comfortable I stayed for another hit of warm brown.
