Absolutely horrible. Never come here. Outrageous prices. We weren't told we would be charged for water cups and then found out each cup of water was $1. A not so big and terrible tasting guacamole cost $7.50. Save yourself a headache and money and DO NOT eat here. Good home-style Mexican food. None of that fast food. I would say forget Del Taco and head to Lola's Kitchen. The place looks sketchy from the outside due to the dark insufilm on the window and the glass door but once inside, it has a nice cozy decor. The food is good and cheap and authentic. Definitely recommend if you are in Barstow. read more

Friendly staff but extremely small dining area. We showed up and were told (after we stood in line to order) that they wouldn't even start making our food until we sat at a table. All the tables were full and people had just sat down do we didn't want to wait. I will say their restrooms were clean and their food looked good. read more

I ate an amazing meal at Lola's today. We were making the drive from Vegas to LA and needed some lunch so we picked the exit at random since the area looked well inhabited. After a quick yelp search it became evident that Lola's was the place to try. We definitely were not disappointed! The atmosphere was adorable, first of all. Decorated for Halloween and totally cute. The little lady behind the counter was so friendly too. We ordered our food, which was reasonably priced. Hell what am I saying it was so cheap! She gave us some great chips and salsa and an amazingly short time later our food came out. Everything tasted great and was obviously made fresh and with care. Even the water was prepared with lemons and strawberries in it. Overall, a great experience, I highly recommend it. read more

Do not be discouraged by the parking lot or surrounding shops. This is exactly what I would call a hole in the wall gem to the fullest extent. Authentic as it gets and the California Burrito is well worth the money. Rice is cooked to perfection and you can tell the beans and all the rest of the menu items are homemade. The prices are fair and If I went by myself all I would have spent would be $8 on my burrito which was enough food for a large male. The rest of the family enjoyed the soft tacos and chicken enchilada which were also a good helping for the price. read more

This place is awesome. We stopped here for breakfast burritos on our way to Vegas based on the yelp reviews. The machaca burritos were excellent! Not sure how people can complain about smaller portions and higher prices. The machaca burritos was huge. I could only eat 1/2 of mine and it was only about $6. Great value in my opinion. The place also has a very homey feel. I assume the woman who helped us was the owner and I honestly felt like I stepped into her kitchen and I was her guest. Well, Yelpers, thanks again for another great find! This place has great Mexican fare on the cheap! I had enchiladas with green sauce and my husband had a carne asada burrito. Both came with rice and refried beans, and chips and salsa. The entrees were huge! We only ate half and took half home for a later meal. The rice and beans are fantastic! My enchiladas were filled with tender white meat chicken. Eric's steak in his HUGE carne asada burrito was really tender as well. As one of the other Yelpers said, it is small in there so get there early or take it to go. We will definitely go there again when we are passing through Barstow! read more

Turned out to be a good stop based strictly on yelp. Food was good and relatively inexpensive. Place was clean and folks behind the counter were very friendly. It kind of struck me as a local family place where people knew each other rather than the place people on their way to Vegas stop. I'd certainly stop there again. read more

On our way to Vegas. Used my Yelp app to find somewhere to eat. Thanks to all the great Yelpers out there we found Lola's. My husband said it was one of the best plates of Mexican food he has ever had. He ordered the carne asana chilaquiles and consumed the entire plate. I had the enchiladas with green sauce. They were delicious too. What everyone said in the other reviews is true. Really nice service. When you look in the kitchen there actually are little grandmas cooking. They bring out your food as soon as its ready. It's like eating at your grandma's house. Chips and salsa were delicious. This place is a true hidden gem. read more

Yummo! The food here reminded me of abuelita's cooking. You gotta try the shredded beef tostada. Beans are cooked to perfection. Their red salsa has the perfect amount of spice and the chips have the perfect amount of crunch. We missed it the first time. It's in the Von's shopping center. The food was actually really good, tacos (asada) was to die for, pork tacos was good too. In a not-so-great shopping plaza, inside the store was cute. It's more like a fast food (order at the counter) style, but food is not fast food at all. I think it's rather pricey for the location, they only have American sodas (nothing like horchata, etc.). So the food itself is definitely 5 starts, but in overall (location, variety, service, price, no toilet paper..) 4+ stars. I will be back when we head back to Vegas though. read more

I could eat Mexican everyday all day so whenever I'm out of town I try to find the best Mexican restaurant where ever we are at!! Lola gets 5 stars!! My coworkers agreed it was definitely worth the search it find it (look for VONs in the mini-mall)!! Friendly, clean, and they do except credit-cards now!! Awesome spot with amazing food and friendly customer service. All the guys in my group had burritos which were all amazing and very reasonably priced. Not the best spot for large groups as it's pretty tight inside. I sat next to one of the regulars who was having some kind of soup that looked amazing, I didn't see that on the menu though so we asked him what it was. They have a special soup they only serve on Tuesdays so if you're here on a Tuesday get the soup, it looked bomb. read more

Absolutely delicious. The chile verde sauce is complicated, and the beans are velvety. If you make the stop, you'll pull into a dicey parking lot and find it between the dollar store and a pawn shop, and you'll think that some white person with an iPhone wanted to seem hipster autentico by giving this place a great review, but these beans are worth so much more than that. read more

Thanks to yelpers I found this wonderful gem. My husband who hates Mexican food loved it, so that says a lot. This is about as good as it gets for Mexican food. It's a small place, but colorful, cheerful and very clean. The staff is caring and respectful. But food is the star here, and if you don't stop for it you'll never know what your missing. Hands down the best beans I've ever put in my mouth. read more
