This is more than just a brewery, it's a delightful restaurant too.
On a recent trip we'd expected a lot from the food at our accommodation and we were disappointed. We didn't anticipate much on visiting the brewery, but we were delighted. It's a funny old world, isn't it?
The building isn't much to look at, but once you're inside it's cosy and warm, lots of wood and big tables and a nice welcoming atmosphere.
The menu is varied, not just meat or meat, but there is meat. Hubby had the Haxe (see photo) and it was the best he's had in Germany. I had something lighter, black pasta with a seafood sauce, and it was really nice, freshly prepared, creamy sauce, and not overcooked, or over salted.
Hubby's beer was a dark, toffee flavoured Shwarzbier, but I restricted myself to alcohol free, so not much to write about that.
The service was fine, our meals arrived together. The only downside was the puddings. But then that's often the case in Germany, they just don't do good pud. read more
