The rentals are fairly reasonably priced (~$15/hr) but you can also bring your own and just pay the usage fee (~$6). The dock is well maintained and so are the paddle boards, the owner/staff are incredibly nice and welcoming. Note that they're only open on Saturday's and Sunday's. Lake Guntersville did not disappoint. I stayed at the Wyndham (review coming) which sat on the lake. My room had a beautiful view and I could sit outside on the balcony and do my work in peace. The facility was about 45 minutes from the FEMA training center in Anniston, Alabama, so being bused back and forth was a bit of a drag. You can expect that on deployments. Anyways, I've sidetracked. The facility here is really cool. It has a large conference center and a beautiful lake with many recreational activities for the whole family. It also has several large housing buildings that are setup like hotels. The rooms are 3 star with some having sleeping quarters for up to 6 people (2 bunk beds and a full size bed) perfect for families with children. The rooms do not have TV'S so they are perfect for wholesome family time. WIFi is also available!
